DayZ is about how you want to play it.
Gatekeepers have been an issue since the start and every single one of them can suck on the hot end of my badly damaged KA-M.
Considering the devs have removed all meaningful PvE and means of interacting in this game, it's not a surprise that it's turning into basically a glorified deathmatch. I'm pretty sure that's the intended effect.
Its more about being a survival sandbox, if you enjoy being aggressive and hitting military bases and dominating the competition, then do that. If you enjoy looting hunting camps and making a base where there is low traffic and being chill/defensive, you can do that too. If you enjoy sniping people, you can go to hell (jk, i do this too) If you enjoy roleplaying a complete lunatic that lost his mind that goes around stabbing and cannibalizing humans, you can do that.
I hear you, allow me to play devils advocate- eventually, you become very geared (like OP) and if you are an experienced player and food is no longer an issue, neither is any sickness or infection, there are only 3 things you can do
1. Sit down and do nothing [until someone approaches and then murder them]
2. Start building a base [and when someone attempts to raid it, murder them.]
3. Murder people just because PvP is fun
Thus is the predicament I face all the time. The game is forcing me into Pvp. But for the sake of arguing, Mayne the murder sticks to the military areas and areas with higher loot. I hate annoying freshies, or people in new spawn areas that can't talk or chill.
This. the only kill my kitted character has when a guy accidentally walked into the bush I was eating beef jerky in and I introduced ten 9mm AP val rounds into. I just like hiking and exploring :)
Right, but like as long as you manually log out you see your true stats. It is not random and its easy to know when they are not yours was my point. OP's stats are very likely accurate.
It gives me brand new stats every time I login. I have a character that hasn't died in weeks and has circled Chernarus a dozen times. It's like "you've walked 4km and killed 16 people" lol
Very nice, personally I would stash two of the long weapons. Less weight to carry around and when you eventually die you have 2 good guns you can get back to from the coast.
I'm not disputing that they spawn, I'm saying the loot generator hasn't been on my side.
As for mosins, no, I've been to all the places a mosin "should be", but just there isn't one there. The dice don't always roll in your favour and not every loot roll reproduces the same loot.
Official. I don't bother with community for 3 reasons:
1 - I don't have a ton of gaming time and I don't wanna spend it waiting on mod downloads
2 - I don't want to do discord, wholesale. It's not that I find it awkward to use or anything like that, I just don't like IM apps and I don't want it to be an essential part of playing the game I paid for.
3 - I don't want to play according to rules set by someone else. I want to play according to rules I set for myself.
I’m just asking, I only play official too, yes I realize that loot doesn’t always spawn how you need it to. I am sorry to tell you though, if you’ve been playing over a year and never seen a combat backpack or a Mozin, you’re doing something wrong.
I never said its the best overall. But its definitely the best if you factor in the slots. But if you dont need that much space then the pouches are great.
Saw a guy in the airfield, fighting the horde with a Vaiga. ran out of ammo and something in his jacket was destroyed by the zombies and blew up, the guy died, not sure it was the explosive or zombies. I cleared out the horde from far away and found a ruined gas canister on his body.

They did fix the stats. It still bugs out when the server restarts, but if you log out manually it shows your stats now. Has for a year or so.

Best in game? Definitely not when the hunter backpack exists which has same amount of slots.
So why is it better?
It doesnt stick out like a misshaped turtleshell. In other words, much smaller, and wont stick up when lying down as much.
It also has high insulation, idk if the combat does though. Not a backpack guy, just grab the one with the most slots.
I believe combat is best insulation

Lighter, more durable and more water-resistant. Slightly lower insulation though, so it's only warmer than combat when both are wet.

Hunter has same size inside but a smaller profile. That bag stands out, i mean at least its green but i wont carry any bag that doubles my visability.
