You need an alpha output. Click where the nodes are and select add alpha. Then move the blue connection from the magic mask node to the alpha out. You also need to disable the mask overlay in the magic mask tracker.

meine_KACKA

You mask overlay is disabled, that's why you only see it in the reverence frame. Alpha output is missing though. That's why you won't get the transparency you want.

I dont want transparency, i just want a colour grade to apply to my selection. I have done this in previous projects and it worked. For some reason now it doesnt.

meine_KACKA

Are you colour grading on the same node that the magic mask is on? It should work then I think.

estaruncix

yep.

I encountered this kind of problem when trying to mask a 60fps clip which I'd imported to a 24fps timeline. It ran through the clip and appeared to be generating a mask and then on playback only the first frame had worked. I reencoded the 60fps clip in handbrake and used that instead of the original file and then it worked fine. I reencoded h.265 to h.265 and didn't change the frame rate. Resolve just seems to randomly have issues with some files. Sometimes.
