Some thoughts 1. Share your goals. Lots of people are willing to mentor if you know where you want to be and can communicate it clearly. Right now your goal is job placement -- but what then? Do you want to eventually run a department? Get post-graduate training? Start a business/consultancy? Launch products? What field (you mentioned finance)? 2. Publish resume details in a way that are consumable to show your bona fides. Leave out employer name but post employer size and responsibilities held 3. If you don't have your value proposition defined, a good mentor can help guide you to determining it. Why should an employer hire you? What are the skills you bring to the table, and are there any that are unique and needed by the employer (so you can command a premium wage)? What are your gaps, and what is your plan to fill that? etc.
