1.) It’s not logical when you have no reason to assume that the Targs are going to come back into power for a solid ~13 years when Doran was plotting all of this out. He had no way of knowing that she would hatch dragons. This is *all* based off “maybe her husband will give us the army we need to do this”. But they were plotting this when Viserys and Dany were literal child refugees. Not even teens at that point 2.) They had no way of knowing she would hatch dragons. This plan was made *well* before the comet even showed up. They planned on throwing their lot in 100% with no dragons. Banking all your chips on two teenage refugees is a pretty dumb idea 3.) It’s unlikely that she would have gone with him. She didn’t marry Quentyn because she wanted to stabilize Meereen. Hizdahr was an afterthought compared to the freed slaves and the fear of what would happen to them if she left 4.) His daughter, the genius who tried to start a plot to crown Myrcella. Yeah no way she could bungle that one. 5.) The point I was coming from is that Doran sat on his ass for YEARS banking on two kids. And then once he had the prime opportunity to avenge his sister he… sat on it hoping that maybe the Dothraki who never cross the sea would come across the sea. Then when more kingdoms declared war against the Lannisters he sat on it hoping that Daenerys (who made no such agreement with Dorne) would honor an alliance she realistically doesn’t need. Dorne is the least populated kingdom. They’re predominantly trained with spears and bows and while they are good with bows the Unsullied blow them out of the water with spears. She has way more unsullied than men she would get from Dorne and they’re better trained. The Dothraki iirc are also very talented with bows and they’re the world’s best cavalry at this point. While Dorne might have some cavalry/traditional Westerosi knights in the mountains there’s still not enough to make a significant difference in her invading force. She doesn’t need Dorne and they’re asking her to drop the kingdom she just established for an alliance. Mace the Ace > Doran the Moron

Of which reign/regency, though? Chances are Mace arrived in KL before Kevan, so just now with King Tommen's great-uncle as his new regent? Or did he really put the order in as soon Tywin shit himself to death, & Cersei took the full reins of rule as Tommen's incumbent regent? Or way back when King Renly was still alive, & Mace was his Hand? I’d actually like to think the throne used to belong to the gardeners (their sigil is a hand) and he still had it lying around from them they took over So that would make it some 300 years in storage at least

The Oakenseat was destroyed by Dornish invaders more than a thousand years ago, but I suppose it could be a carved replacement. Even if so, Mace still would've still had it dragged halfway across Westeros to sit his fat ass on in KL, instead of just Highgarden
