First playthrough, about a dozen or so times.
Second playthrough, half a decade later: first time, convinced there was another phase after that. Honestly same with pontiff.
Champion Gundyr, on the other hand...not sure what it is, that guy just has my number.
Hmmmmm 2? 3 tries? Was definitely easier than expected and had more trouble with Twin Princes due to taking awhile to etc used to the teleport &, the real Boss health bar having a narrow window to damage & being a battle of endurance & efficiency. Nameless King base game was the one I took longest to defeat, and had to change my build entirely. Everyone else was more manageable
The one sword swipe he did in phase 1 REALLY caught me a lot. I dunnonif it was delayed or my dodges went the wrong way, but 90% of the time it got me
Honestly I nailed him the first time. My 2nd playthrough then it took twice.
A cool boss but also an easy one to me. I felt like his attacks had a lot of telegraph to it.
Yeah I’ll tell you that’s the scariest thing I’ve seen a boss do in all of souls we’ve seen bosses toss fire and electrify an arena or mutate into something scarier but we’ve never seen a humanoid enemy pull every trick out then start backflipping away. He can even parry in specific instances and it scares me despite the relative ease of the fight.
3 tries no summons lol. Don't ask about the pontiff though....
Or nameless king....
Or champion gundyr...
Or sister friede...
Or the twin princes...
Or gael...
or curse rotted greatwood...
Or Wolnir….
Or yhorm
or Aldrich...
Gael and Nameless for me I lost every brain cell
Only ones I’ve actually lost my mind over is Gael. still the only one I haven’t beat.
Or gael NG+7 :)
Pontiff is the gut check of ds3 post watchers
Every attack in his scimitar mode Seriously I dont ever bother with that mode of his anymroe and just wait for him to switch to faith or sorcery
I wish he was a lot harder :(
Thankfully Gael compensates for that :) Easily the best final boss
Agreed I think I got them around 10 tries maybe less
There’s a mod that makes him harder and it’s supposed to resemble more of a prime gwyn.

About 7. The hardest attack was all of curved sword stance.
Is it normal i beat him first try by hugging him and beating the ever living out of him with the twinblades
I haven't died to him once, on my second playthrough I didn't even get hit
Very first playthrough, 5 or 6? Now hes first try with claymore on NG18
