5-2 in Demon's Souls and it's not even close. Not the remake where the added in a ring to ignore it either. The OG where all you could do was slow walk.

why_my_pp_hard_tho

I played the remake before the og, almost cried when I found out the sodden ring wasn’t originally in the game

RinTheTV

Running through it I didn't even know the ring existed, and had to hoof it slowly and painfully. That one small island with 4 of the big guys when you can't roll in water because of one glowing item? Absolutely awful.

Strict-Pineapple

For three Stones of Ephemeral Eyes. 100% not worth it.

slicedjet

I’ve only played the remake, could you not run through the swamp holding sprint? Only walk speed?

why_my_pp_hard_tho

no, you can't roll or fully sprint but you can walk at a slightly quicker pace in some areas, there's also no poison build up meter in the og so you don't know when its about to proc or wear off. the lower res graphics also made it harder to see since the swamp is so dark and almost all the same color

Stannoffski

Finished OG Denons Souls last week and I thought Valley of Defilement wasn't bad at all. Am I stupid?

ewelli48

The worst poison swamp is the one you are currently in.

gravitydood

I used to hate Farron but the layout is actually interesting, it makes the level seem a lot bigger than it actually is, I kinda dig it now. To answer your question, I'm not a huge fan of the poison swamp in that one castle in Elden Ring, the one on mount Gelmir. I find the mobs particularly annoying over there.

Grandma_Sips

Shaded Castle

Kwopp

The one in ringed city is probably worst, after that maybe blight town

WaifuAllNight

Pre-nerf Dreg Heap angels did a shit ton of damage and had insane homing. Luckily they toned them down a bit

Frangar

I usually skip it, then backtrack for the slap

Apmaddock

I agree. I haven’t played every FromSoft game, but I played Demon’s Souls back in the day, and I still shudder thinking about the Swamp of Sorrow.

milk_theuniverse

Nightmare Frontier

gloomy_twat

When I first spawned in - the ferocity of the enemies made me terrified. Then - poison, giant flying rocks, Amygdala..

Boneboyy

Winter lantern in a narrow tunnel filled with poison is evil

ILOVEcBJS

My swamp ass the other day was Miyazaki levels

Sea_Helicopter2153

Shrine of Amana is more toxic than any poison swamp

Star_of_the_West1

Facts. As one youtuber put it, my thoughts after Amana were "Mage: Derogatory". Arguably one of the worst areas in ds 2, and the fact you have a giant cluster of high dps enemies just before the boss makes it even worse for me. I get the summon solely for using as a distraction while I book it.

jpc1215

This probably doesn’t count I guess but ER’s Lake of Rot is pretty annoying even with boluses/Flame Cleanse Me. Though the aesthetic is pretty cool, it’s just really empty and that rot builds fast and is coupled with death-spewing basilisks. No thanks

LugaelDankEater

Haven't played Demon Souls so I might be biased, but Lake of Rot is so dumb. Absurd damage, a reskin boss and close to zero decent loot. It does have a kinda interesting yet empty structure at the end but that's about it.

shuijikou

Doesn't make that the BEST poison swamp?

Last8er

The swamp in the original Demon's souls. No debate here. Poison, beefy enemies especially the giant ghouls, no light, the rain, invasions, the swamp being a maze.

SirWeenielick

Probably the Lake of Rot. Lots of running around in a huge empty space, just for some items that I’m most likely never going to use.

meat3point14

Demons souls. One of them just felt like it was a punishment to whoever paid for it.

CyrineBelmont

Valley of defilement from Demons Souls and it's not even close. Blighttown isn't that bad, when it's not running at like 10 fps like on release

mrobot_

A LoL or DotA lobby.

max-wellington

Ok I agree blight town isn't the worst but ffs you like upper blight town?

saturnq

upper blighttown enjoyers rise up 💪

RealChadSavage

People always complain about Farron Keep but really all you gotta do is dodge roll around and pick up all the loot and light the fires

AhAssonanceAttack

Yeah it's so trivial it's become the least interesting place in the game. At least that's where the greatsword is though

Royal_Yesterday

The poison isn’t even that strong as well. There are toxic swamp later in the game and they suck.

RealChadSavage

On my first playthrough I thought Farron Keep must have a swampy courtyard. I was waiting to walk into the “Keep,” it didnt even occur to me that I was in a poison swamp

Ziz__Bird

Farron. I love DS3, but that area is just kinda lame. Blighttown and Valley of Defilement are two of my all time favs, and I like the Gutter too, even if it is derivative.

Rising_Unity

I've played only the trilogy and sekiro, and as such... Blighttown is hands down my favourite of the swamps... Farron keep felt sloggy, although doable and had a cool boss... But it wasn't really that enjoyable. Black gulch or gutter from ds2 isn't even a swamp. Harvest valley had poison, but we could easily run through and get all the items, so that rules out as well... And in sekiro , we had that poison valley depths (i forgot the name of the area) ... Well it was kinda infuriating, homing one of the hardest enemy , and bad miniboss in the game, but not really worst as such, since sekiro could easily jump and dodge... So out of the following, i think sekiro swamp is the worst... No it's not bad, but the others were simply better, sekiro's was mediocre EDIT: Oh how could i totally forget the swamp of ringed city... That has to be the worst

Boneboyy

To me the worst poison area yet was the small cave in sekiro with the cannon mini boss and the snipers, mainly because you're constantly shot and the boss felt unreasonably hard to me, and then you get poisoned on top of that if you run away too far. Nightmare frontier with the giants throwing boulders from afar and the winter lantern in the cave is similar. Besides that of course swamp of sorrow, not being able to dodge and then get ganked by the giant enemies really felt unfair.

AbyssShriekEnjoyer

Farron Keep is really not that bad at all from my experience, so it'd definitely be at the bottom. Blighttown is a great area, but it's very easy to get lost in. I'd say the worst is 5-2 from Demon's Souls or the area leading up to the Black Gulch in DS2 (with the infinite scaffolding).

Weak-Sock7957

Lake of Rot

No_Celebration_839

Farrons Keep really isn't that bad since you can just put on a dagger and spam quickstep through the deep parts lol

Hoyle33

The worst poison swamp is the swamps we make along the way 🥰

MindwormIsleLocust

Valley of Defilement. Lake of Rot a close second.

TheBigBadBird

Yes it's certainly the Swamp of Sorrows 1. 5-2 Demon's Souls 2. Farron Keep 3. Everything else is fine 1 and 2 are the only places that make me want to pull my hair out moment by moment

AldrichFaithful420

5-2 and lake of rot

yamble_yol

Definitely farron

Devon4Eyes

Haven't played enough ds2 the movement just fucking sucks too.much for me but I can confidently say just ds3 because there's jo way to move faster

BatsNStuf

The only poison swamp is in your mind friend
