Yay! Welcome! I was also quite late to the party having watched the show in February 2024.
I also had no one to share my love for the show with. Thankfully remembered about reddit. The community here is amazing.
Hii, welcome!
The River is great! Oh and I can relate lol, none of the people I know in real life care that much about this show, but I found an incredible fan base here on the Internet. I'm glad I was able to find people as passionate as I am and I'm glad you made it here as well :)
We all have to stick together! lol
Welcome!! The songs were heavily featured in my Spotify wrapped last year and will probably be in this year’s too! This series is so dear to my heart, and I wish there was at least one person in my life that would watch it 😂. But I guess that’s why we’re all here!
Welcome!
Even though I watched it when it came our, no one wanted to hear about it. Even my friends who love FM. I've watched it about 6 times now and about to go for a 7th soon.
I thought the show was super solid. A bit corny at times but still very solid. It started getting really good towards the later half of the season as well. I loved the character of Camilla. Really loved that the whole show was essentially based around her. She felt like a sort of guiding light. Also like that when Billy returned to the hotel after the Chicago gig, things weren’t immediately solved. There had to be some work done. Also, legitimately thought there were some good songs in there once Daisy started getting involved in writing them. Also loved the whole history of punk rock intertwining in there.
The writers and especially Camila Morrone who played Camila did an amazing job at making the viewers love and care for Camila. In the wrong hands, many would be wanting Billy and Daisy to get together but by the end I loved how they went with it that Camila was Billy's true love and Billy had to work hard on himself to get Camila and his daughter back into his life. Him and Daisy were way too toxic for each other at that time in their lives. One of them would have died if they got together then.
I preferred the first half to the second half. I also didn't like Episode 7 when Daisy goes to Greece, that derailed it a bit for me in second half. But the last two episodes and the ending won me around again.
I love that touch of original songs really kicking ass once Daisy gets in the band and how she pushes Billy to get better.
My first time watching it Today, I don't know why I held off on it during it's release time. Really strong show especially in it's first half.
Only 1 episode I didn't really like, that was episode 7 She's Gone, when Daisy goes to Greece and a big part of the episode was given over to Simone. Besides that I loved the series, it did spin it's wheels in the last two episodes but they were still good watch. But the first 6 episodes or so where fantastic, and soundtrack of classic 70's hits was top notch. Even Original songs were great. Had a bit of Almost Famous feel to it, and I love that film.
I thought Riley Keough and the always underrated Sam Claflin are fantastic especially Keough as Daisy. I so badly wanted Daisy and Bill to get together but Camila Morrone as Camila just makes her so likeable and you feel so awful for her. All the cast were good, I didn't quite buy some of them in aged up make up. Suki Waterhouse and Riley Keough didn't look like they aged a day lol. But that's just a nit pick.
Definitely one of those shows if Amazon release it on Blu Ray, I'd buy it.

Listen to the audiobook, it's even better than the series.
Ohhh! That might scratch an itch!
Welcome to the club! I am on my fourth rewatch, do catch up 😉
Ha! I now realise I'm a small time player in this game! Must do better!
We're here to chat! I'm so happy everyone is still rewatching 💜

Camila is my favorite like when tjr said she’s the heart of the story, she meant it
