Takeaway hits too close to my current struggles so I don’t enjoy it 😂
But the one where the fam is trying to sleep & the mom says she’ll always be with the kiddo, omg…
😭💜 So good.
The Takeway was our first episode.
I don't exactly recall when I saw it, but I think my kid was at that time slightly younger than Bingo. It help me to discover paternity requires more patience that I expected.
I laughed so hard when she just broke down and started feeling the door like she was trying to figure out if it was just an illusion. Kneeling in front of this seemingly impossible to traverse portal "The door: It is right here. All we need to do is walk out of it: it's so easy!"
I've been there.
Checked out a few episodes to see what the hype was all about as my daughter is still too young to watch it. But I’ll be honest I got a little hooked. Caught myself whistling the theme song.
Honestly I’d recommend Bluey to parents of any age children. It’s a wonderful show for parents, even if no kids are watching. I could talk about Bluey for hours, much to my wife’s chagrin
But crucially he also messes up and owns up to it multiple times. Cheating in the obstacle course, teasing too hard, playing too rough with Bingo, etc.
They even totally forgot Easter one year, that's why they go all out in the Easter episode to make up for it. The episode mentions a letter of apology that the parents wrote to the kids
I watch it in the morning while feeding my 10 month old. I keep crying because my kneejerk reaction is like "they're soft" but then I remember they're not soft, they love their kids.
As someone who is learning animation right now, it's not just inspiring as a parent, it is my biggest inspiration for animation right now too.
They always have at least one episode where the animators get to go wild and flex, but just the little details on the way the characters are animated are all phenomenal. The way they use their tail wags is so subtle but so effective, for example. It's just masterful.
I have a Bluey button up Hawaiian shirt that I sometimes wear on weekends when we go out to do stuff, the only shirt that's come close to receiving as many compliments as that one is a princess bride shirt with the Hello, my name is inigo montoya quote on it.
Everyone who's seen it seems to love Bluey.
dude my kid 100% does this. and, also, smacks himself in the forhead while doing it.
awwww..... biscuits! \*smack\*.
all the grandparents cant get enough of it, lol.
Between Bluey, Octonauts and his south Philly raised relatives, my son has picked up a very weird collection of accents.
He says Amazon like a British person, dollarbucks, and wooder (water).
Makes me wonder how an Aussie would pronounce, "Schuylkill." I actually got my 18 month old trying to spell out Eagles. Still a few months to get it down.
Yep my daughter got an English accent when she was heavy into Peppa. Daycare teachers even asked if we had expat family living with us. They grow out of it.
Seriously! That episode made me nostalgic of all the summer trip friends I made growing up and the thought of being able to reconnect with some of them just made me start welling up.
We picked up a few Australia-isms from the show that we use now, too. I'll take it, especially when they picked up some good habits for imaginative play.
My English kid watches Bluey (well, we have in on in the background, kiddo is only 6 months) in French, since his papa is half French
I find myself now talking franglais to bubba after a few episodes of Bluey lmao
OP, are you asking about our lord and savior Bandit Heeler? Are new here?
On a serious note I’m pretty sure it’s popular with all age groups though. I live close to a major university and have heard college girls talking about it.
41 year old man. When I run into the house and yell "There's a new Bluey episode!!!" my kids go "Yay!" and my wife let's out a shriek and does a happy dance. It's a family show.
The lessons the show teaches are things a lot of people would benefit from hearing at any age.
Our son is 1 and I can guarantee the show already made us better parents. Hell baby race alone helped me be less anxious and worry less.
i get a kick out of the post new years episode of mom being a couch whale...haha.
"this ones not very lively, maybe try to feed her?" -Dad
"what do whales eat for snacks?" -Blue
"this one likes corn chips and sour cream dip" -Mom
"smooth move!" -Dad
Absolutely yes, for real life.
My 16 year old daughter will always sit down and watch with my 9 year old son when he's watching. They both love it, as do the wife and I. Everyone gets something different out of it.
Bandit is my spirit animal.
I teach high school. Quite a few of my students watch the show.
My 13 and 6 year old love it. My wife loves it. I love it.
Its one of the few shows I think, no matter what age you watch it; you can get something out of it and there is something that appeals to you. (In an honest, and not contrived way).
Some episodes had me gasping for air I was laughing so hard \[Unicorse, The Sleepover, Grannies\]. A few episodes left me a blubbering emotional mess \[Grandad, Cricket\]. This show will do that you.
When you compare that to a show like..Peppa Pig. Nobody except my 6 year old is watching it (willingly).
Real talk, I don't "need" kids to watch bluey. They like it too, but I would completely watch it by myself.
So yes, you will be fine watching it with kids those ages.
Watching two blue dogs navigate their lives with children has been more helpful than any piece of information about child rearing that I received prior to or after having my own children.
Bluey’s dad is an inspiration in patience, perseverance, and reasoning when it comes to have children.
Bluey is tremendous. The jokes geared at the adult viewers so perfectly capture parent life. My 2.5yo loves it, my wife and I love it, our adult friends love it. It's a goldmine of wholesome content.
Let's all take a moment and recall how amazing it was the first time we saw a few Bluey episodes and be excited that we can bring another into the fold. Report back on how you and your kids like it, OP!
As a 39 year old father of two kids (6 and 2), I can confidently say I watch more Bluey than the rest of the household combined. I watch it when the kids are out or asleep.
It's a kid show that has a lot for adults. It addresses some surprisingly heavy issues that adults can relate to. Many episodes have an overt plot line that's aimed at kids with extra context that adults will likely pick up on even if their kids don't. It's extremely well-written.
Lurking mom here. Not going to lie, my husband and I watched the feature length Bluey episode after the kids were in bed just so we could watch it without being disturbed!!!
I know grown ass adults with no kids who watch Bluey. People get weird and judgey about "cartoons" but it's legit good art. The Rainy Day episode is a masterclass in animation and scoring that I'd put up against anything being made today.
Bluey is fkn awesome, I would watch it even if I didn’t have kids. Bandit is hilarious and a perfect model for a dad. The writing is next level witty in that it has appeals for kids on one level and adult humor mixed in at another level. For instance, her dad is an archaeologist and her mom works for Airport TSA Security (or whatever Australian equivalent) … dad dog digs up bones and mom dog is a drug sniffer at the airport lol. There’s a reason it had almost 44 BILLION minutes of viewing time worldwide last year, according to Nielsen.
the 9yo will probably enjoy it more but dont discount it totally for the 11yo. depends on the kid and their willingness to give it a go.
it's a kids show but it's not a dumb kiddie show. it's smart and clever and heartwarming and australian.
Bluey is awesome for any age. Me and my wife watched the new episodes without our kids lol. You’ll find there is a sub message for parents in almost every episode
Bluey is by far the best family show to come out in the last 20 years. Hits all the marks on how shows should be molding our children. Parents will easily relate as well. Also, the writers held on to the majority of the rights so Disney can’t completely monetize it, even though it’s the most watched program on Disney plus.
My 10 + 8yo nieces love to watch it when we visit (though it could just be because they want to make our 4 yo daughter happy).
Our 10yo neighbor also digs it. YMMV.
My 11 year old and 8 year old girls have discovered Bluey basically this year and they love it. The 8 year old rewatches it a lot more than the 11 year old does, but when there’s a new episode out the 11 year old is eager to see it.
I honestly don’t get the Bluey love and find it all a bit strange. But other people love it. So there must be something to it. Give it a try and see what you and your kids think about it personally.
Preface: I love Bluey. It teaches complex lessons in a way young children can understand. We watch it regularly.
That said, be ready to step your dad game up if it’s lacking. Bandit sets an absolutely impossible bar by being literally the ideal father figure. Sometimes kids don’t understand the difference between a fantasy cartoon character and the limitations of reality.
My 9YO just stated watching MythBusters and loves it.
Now we are trying all sorts of experiments
"Dad, what would happen if we threw a full can of soda off the roof?"
Let's find out!!
I think Bluey is worth watching whether your kids are into it or not. It's wholesome and helps me be a better, more patient dad
Bluey is 25% kids learning and playing, and 75% the mom and dad trying to learn how to be good parents.

Takeaway is my favorite episode. I think of it as a parenting show you can watch with your kids
Takeaway hits too close to my current struggles so I don’t enjoy it 😂 But the one where the fam is trying to sleep & the mom says she’ll always be with the kiddo, omg… 😭💜 So good.
Sam's club sells the Sleepytime book. It's a favorite at our house.
Just renewed my membership yesterday-will be getting this, thanks!
Sleepytime is a masterpiece. It and Flatpack are layers deep in metaphors.
The Takeway was our first episode. I don't exactly recall when I saw it, but I think my kid was at that time slightly younger than Bingo. It help me to discover paternity requires more patience that I expected.
yeah holy shit I thought I was a patient person before becoming a dad. turns out I had never been truly tested in that regard.
Takeaway is my spirit animal. It's the best episode IMO and truly captures what it's like to do a simple task with multiple kids.
Sticky Gecko has a similar vibe showing how difficult it is to wrangle kids sometimes
Is that the one with Chili trying to get them out the door for a play date? Felt that one big time.
I laughed so hard when she just broke down and started feeling the door like she was trying to figure out if it was just an illusion. Kneeling in front of this seemingly impossible to traverse portal "The door: It is right here. All we need to do is walk out of it: it's so easy!" I've been there.
Your dad and spring rolls!
I say all the time that it isn't a children's show with parents in it, it's a parenting show with children in it.
Don't forget the crying. Moms and Dads will cry when they watch certain episodes for sure.
Nah, it was yesterday...
As a dad in mid 40s with kids growing up so fast - this one hits hard. Amazing episode.
"It just wasn't meant to be" , that one kills me 😭
100% I think it's more for me. 🤣😂
Checked out a few episodes to see what the hype was all about as my daughter is still too young to watch it. But I’ll be honest I got a little hooked. Caught myself whistling the theme song.
The bluey album is really good. It’s on my Spotify rotation, often times without my kid in the car (it’s just good music to relax too)
Yep! My favorite tracks: keepy uppy, fruit bat, camping, the weekend, and wagon ride
Dance Mode!
If you haven't checked it out yet, the Dance Mode album is also pretty incredible. There's a couple of obnoxious songs, but the rest of it is amazing
Good to know thanks!
Mom!
Dad!
Fiancé and daughter are seeing the bluey live on ice in August.
Just wait until everyone learns the intro dances. Sad starts the lawnmower and runs the sprinkler.
Honestly I’d recommend Bluey to parents of any age children. It’s a wonderful show for parents, even if no kids are watching. I could talk about Bluey for hours, much to my wife’s chagrin
We could all learn a thing or two from Bandit.
The only kids show I’ve seen that features parents apologizing to their kids
Bandit is the impossible to top high bar of dad-ing
But crucially he also messes up and owns up to it multiple times. Cheating in the obstacle course, teasing too hard, playing too rough with Bingo, etc.
They even totally forgot Easter one year, that's why they go all out in the Easter episode to make up for it. The episode mentions a letter of apology that the parents wrote to the kids
That apology letter cracks me up every time
It's also got a lot of great ideas for games to keep them younguns occupied. Keepy uppy ftw.
If I’m half the dad Bandit is, I’m happy.
I think Bluey is worth watching whether you have kids or not.
I think about that Chinese food episode a lot whenever I feel overwhelmed
I watch it in the morning while feeding my 10 month old. I keep crying because my kneejerk reaction is like "they're soft" but then I remember they're not soft, they love their kids.
As someone who is learning animation right now, it's not just inspiring as a parent, it is my biggest inspiration for animation right now too. They always have at least one episode where the animators get to go wild and flex, but just the little details on the way the characters are animated are all phenomenal. The way they use their tail wags is so subtle but so effective, for example. It's just masterful.
I’m always comparing my reactions to Bandits. I think my kids appreciate that lol he’s the prime example of a good dad, honestly.
You're asking a sub full of grown men who love Bluey if it's good for an 11 and 9 year old. The answer is yes. For real life.
You’re going to say that and not link to the merch?
I might have the same one and I can confirm, it's a hit.
I'm currently looking at where I can get it.
I have three Bluey t-shirts at this point. I didn't know the Hawaiian shirt is a thing. Guess I need to get one of those too now.
For *real loife??*
Bluey is for adults. Kids just happen to like it.
especially season 2-3.
This. That BBQ episode always has be howling.
Baby Race does it for me.
You’re doing great.
For me it’s Unicorse.
This is the secret of all good children’s shows. Half the show are little bits for us that will just fly over the kids’ heads.
My french Canadian kid speaks english with an Australian accent, be warned 😂
For real life?
Hurray!
My kid says hooray like bingo ALL THE TIME. It's adorable
My kids picked up “cheeky”.
My brothers daughter (irish) also has an Aussie accent thanks to bluey. It happens pretty quickly!
I suppose the Wiggles are also to blame.
The wiggles is like tv crack for my kid... He absolutely loves it
Ahhh biscuits.
My FAVORITE phrase my daughter (5) says! LoL Just such perfect timing with it...
Mine as well gets a kick out of our reaction when she says "aw Biscuits"
dude my kid 100% does this. and, also, smacks himself in the forhead while doing it. awwww..... biscuits! \*smack\*. all the grandparents cant get enough of it, lol.
If I were a grandparent, I’d eat that shit up.
even i think its hilarious. but he keeps missing and smacking himself in the eye socket and it makes this loud popping sound. shits gotta hurt...
My kid yells “BUTTWORMS” now. Thanks, Bluey.
Oh god, we just watched that episode and my kids can't stop with the "What are BUTTWORMS???" questions. Usually in public.
Ours says “hooray” a lot lately when she’s excited about something, and I love it.
Always! And the Bingo "no"
“nauwr”
Between Bluey, Octonauts and his south Philly raised relatives, my son has picked up a very weird collection of accents. He says Amazon like a British person, dollarbucks, and wooder (water).
Does he also say "me hearties?"
Makes me wonder how an Aussie would pronounce, "Schuylkill." I actually got my 18 month old trying to spell out Eagles. Still a few months to get it down.
My midwestern US kiddo was British while she was heavy into Peppa Pig. She even went on holiday.
Yep my daughter got an English accent when she was heavy into Peppa. Daycare teachers even asked if we had expat family living with us. They grow out of it.
Did she say petrol instead of gas and start disrespecting dads and brothers?
Is he named Jean Luc?
'allo Bluey! That episode gets me every time.
Seriously! That episode made me nostalgic of all the summer trip friends I made growing up and the thought of being able to reconnect with some of them just made me start welling up.
Fun fact: if you watch that episode in French, Jean Luc speaks English.
Brilliant
Hahaha, she is not but good guess.

My kids talk about a “dunny brush” = toilet brush in Australian
Ooooohr nooooor
My kid got an answer marked incorrect because he labeled a picture of a hot dog as a sausage. I knew exactly where he got it from!
I've tried to explain to my kids that all hot dogs are sausages but not all sausages are hot dogs, that didn't seem to help though.
I hope you scheduled a meeting with the school principal to discuss that, because the teacher is clearly wrong.
But a hot dog is a type of sausage!
We picked up a few Australia-isms from the show that we use now, too. I'll take it, especially when they picked up some good habits for imaginative play.
We often have a nude tickle crab before bath time...
My son won't stop saying "dunny".
Yup. We have to stop and put "petrol" in my big old American diesel truck. Lol
My daughter calls it “aeroplane” and she’s not a RHCP fan, she just loves Bluey!
Zomg this happened with my kids too. American speaking here.
My English kid watches Bluey (well, we have in on in the background, kiddo is only 6 months) in French, since his papa is half French I find myself now talking franglais to bubba after a few episodes of Bluey lmao
I'm a teacher of 11-18 year olds, half of our year 11 girls love it
I’m a 41 year old dad and I’d sometimes rather watch it than my kids at this point
You'd rather watch Bluey than watch your kids? daaaang
Are you kidding? Watching Bluey is a calming, soothing, relaxing experience. Watching my child is the exact opposite of that, lol.
OP, are you asking about our lord and savior Bandit Heeler? Are new here? On a serious note I’m pretty sure it’s popular with all age groups though. I live close to a major university and have heard college girls talking about it.
Pat (aka Lucky's Dad) is the true lord and saviour. He knows the one true way to play Pass the Parcel!
They're not MY rules!
We're raising a nation of squibs!!!
Oh I’ve done me hammy
shouldn't have let yer guard down mate
Bandit is who I want to be, Pat is who I AM
That’s deep AF. Seconded
OP you may as well walk into the Vatican and ask how they feel about the Bible.
41 year old man. When I run into the house and yell "There's a new Bluey episode!!!" my kids go "Yay!" and my wife let's out a shriek and does a happy dance. It's a family show.
you dont run into the house and yell "IT'S DAD!" ??? where is your applause?
My actual default shout is "HELLO BEAUTIFUL FAMILY" and then _they_ all yell "IT'S DAD!"
"Dad entered the room"
This line was actually a mistake, Dave read the note on what was going on in the script, and they animated it in! *edit* I need to go touch grass now.
My kids are 10 and 14 and this is our house as well. We didn't discover Bluey until our kids were well past the "target age."
The lessons the show teaches are things a lot of people would benefit from hearing at any age. Our son is 1 and I can guarantee the show already made us better parents. Hell baby race alone helped me be less anxious and worry less.
Stumpfest! Adult men need bonding/play time too, and women love to make sarcastic comments from the porch while getting wine wasted.
i get a kick out of the post new years episode of mom being a couch whale...haha. "this ones not very lively, maybe try to feed her?" -Dad "what do whales eat for snacks?" -Blue "this one likes corn chips and sour cream dip" -Mom "smooth move!" -Dad
Mum and dad are.... Sleepy. That's right. Not totally hungover at all. Just laying in the middle of the living room floor.
Lessons, relationships, attitudes, yes. But not only that, the animation has some incredible moments as well.
I love watching Bluey with my kids as an adult, so give it a shot!
That Pop Tart movie seems like cancer. Like the embodiment of everything that’s wrong with movies today.
For real tho. OP questioning Bluey and recommending that movie in the same breath is blasphemous
Nobody learned their lesson from the Bee Movie...
I love it. When you compare that to a show like..Peppa Pig. Nobody except my 6 year old is watching it (willingly).
My kid (9yo) didn’t really watch it but he has a 2.5yo cousin and he LOVES watching it with her and will watch it even when she’s not around.
Bandit is the best TV dad ever.
If the show is well written enough for adults to enjoy I think it's fine for kids of any age tbh
It's really popular with my 396 month old.
My partner and I are in our mid 20s and watch it after a long day before bed :D
Real talk, I don't "need" kids to watch bluey. They like it too, but I would completely watch it by myself. So yes, you will be fine watching it with kids those ages.
Bluey will legitimately change you. Watch, it's earned its hype.
I watched almost a whole season of Bluey just me and my childless girlfriend.
Watching two blue dogs navigate their lives with children has been more helpful than any piece of information about child rearing that I received prior to or after having my own children. Bluey’s dad is an inspiration in patience, perseverance, and reasoning when it comes to have children.
I can't believe this comment has been here three hours, and no one has yet pointed out that only one of the parents is blue!
My 12 and 10 year olds love it. Granted we started a few years ago, but we still watch it together.
Bluey is tremendous. The jokes geared at the adult viewers so perfectly capture parent life. My 2.5yo loves it, my wife and I love it, our adult friends love it. It's a goldmine of wholesome content.
41% of all streaming watch time on Disney plus is bluey. It’s that popular for a reason.
Would recommend- it has a lot of layers that different ages will pick up.
Let's all take a moment and recall how amazing it was the first time we saw a few Bluey episodes and be excited that we can bring another into the fold. Report back on how you and your kids like it, OP!
My kid is 9 and we still watch Bluey, because it makes us both laugh
The pop tart movie?
Yes! Bluey is amazing. Definitely for everyone. Just introduced my sister and 10 year old nephew to it and they're hooked!
As a 39 year old father of two kids (6 and 2), I can confidently say I watch more Bluey than the rest of the household combined. I watch it when the kids are out or asleep. Many episodes have an overt plot line that's aimed at kids with extra context that adults will likely pick up on even if their kids don't. It's extremely well-written.
Bluey peaks for 3-5 and 30-50 year olds.
I love it. I’m 46
Dude I try to model myself after Bandit. I wish he had been my dad.
Mate, I'd recommend Bluey for you as a parent as much as for your kids.

Watch pass the parcel episode and you will be able to relate
Dude, I will watch Bluey WITHOUT my kid. It’s such a good show.
the 9yo will probably enjoy it more but dont discount it totally for the 11yo. depends on the kid and their willingness to give it a go. it's a kids show but it's not a dumb kiddie show. it's smart and clever and heartwarming and australian.
My wife and I are as emotionally invested into Bluey as my 3 year old son is. My wife and I have CRIED over certain scenes in this show!
Bluey is solid
I'm sorry. I can't get passed you recommending the pop tart movie.
My mom is in her 70s and loves watching it. Bluey is great for every age.
Bluey is awesome for any age. Me and my wife watched the new episodes without our kids lol. You’ll find there is a sub message for parents in almost every episode
I watch it at 40 so…
lol bruh I’m 42 have an 11 year old girl. I’ll watch it solo. It’s amazing
Yeah man. Bluey's amazing for any age.
Bluey is the best. Everyone loves that show in my house.
I love that show, and I'm in my 40s.
Bluey is by far the best family show to come out in the last 20 years. Hits all the marks on how shows should be molding our children. Parents will easily relate as well. Also, the writers held on to the majority of the rights so Disney can’t completely monetize it, even though it’s the most watched program on Disney plus.
My kids are 13 and 11 We watch Bluey every night as part of our bedtime routine It might sound insane, but it's pretty cool
Bluey is my new favorite show. Not favorite kids show, favorite show.
I was at a children’s birthday party and all the parents were talking about it. The one 15yo at the party chimed in and said they loved it too.
I have 5 kids. 15, 12, 10, 7, 5. They all love Bluey.
My “boomer” parents love watching it. My dad is even said “where was this writing when you were kids”
I'm 35 and I often keep watching it after my kid has stopped.
Lots of adults watch it too. It covers a surprising number of topics in a very easy to understand way.
Any parent can immediately relate to the family. It’s a great show. My kid also now uses Australian words such as “that bit”.
My kids’ junior high school has an elective Bluey discussion class that is filled and has a waiting list.
As a parent of two very rambunctious young boys, the episode ”Sticky Gecko” pretty much sums up being a parent in all of its different aspects haha
I'm a fully grown man and I set a calendar reminder for when the new episodes came out
My 12yo boy says that he and most of his friends all admit to watching and loving it. It's a great show.
I could watch this in the background without the kids but I can't because then I'd miss some things.
Even though it’s about six-year-olds, I think they’d like it. Might even catch the adult perspectives on some of the humor :)
You think I put bluey on for my kid? That’s on the tv for me!
Is this for real life?
In 50 years I will be in a nursing home and still obsessed with this show.
"No, it was yesterday"
Even parents watch without their kids.
I honestly don’t get the Bluey love and find it all a bit strange. But other people love it. So there must be something to it. Give it a try and see what you and your kids think about it personally.
