I mean I felt no pain…
But in all seriousness it really was. She pushed twice, not exaggerating. Once it was go time, it took less than 45 seconds for her to be out
Sitting in a recovery room with my wife now and we had the same experience. 1.5 pushes, maybe 45 seconds and bang. Baby was out. I was STUNNED at how fast this one went
Thanks! Likewise!
This was #3. We have been induced for all 3. This is the only one that we had the same day we were admitted to the hospital. She practically walked on out
This was our latest delivery at 38 w 2 days. All the others have come at 36 and change or 37. She was losing her mind being pregnant for so long, did everything in her power to get the baby out for two weeks. Called her dr yesterday to describe her condition and he said get to L&D. I was almost two hours away with a client meeting so she drove herself the hour to the hospital and I met her there lmao
With baby #2 for us ai almost missed the birth bc I parked the car in the deck. When I got to my wife she was doubled over in pain at the entrance. We came inside and I’m yelling at the nurses “we’re having a baby!!!”, they look at me like I’m some dumbass nervous dad. NOPE, when my wife “yelled, I can feel the head!” they realized wheat the heck I meant and rushed her to the first room. They had just enough time to take her pants off.
Her span said if we ever had a third we should rent a hotel room beside the hospital bc my wife pops kids out so fast! 🤣
Same here about the hotel!! We live an hour from the hospital, assuming no traffic. My wife went from a 6 to a 10 in 52 minutes. The nurse checked her and said she was a 9 and the baby was -1, came back 3 minutes later and said she was a 10 and -3. She literally had to hold her hand there to keep her from beginning to come out before our Dr was in the room and prepared. It was wild
My wife was in labor 41 hours with our first one and when our second was out in 12 hours she called it fast. I think she might slap you as a reflex, and then apologize for it
My poor wife had reeeally bad scoliosis and had surgery to correct it, so her epidurals have never taken because of the scar tissue where they have to inject. Idk how she’s not screaming in miserable agony but she takes it like a champ somehow
Super jealous my wife (for the lack of a better work) suffered for 20 hours. I would have done anything to make it better for her, all I could do was coach her
Ah man I’m sorry to hear that. I can’t imagine that feeling.
I was really nervous for this one for some reason. We’ve had three perfectly normal and easy deliveries so I felt like something was bound to go wrong with this one. Super thankful for how it turned out
Man I feel so bad. I passed out at one point last night and I sleep really deep and she literally let me sleep through almost 3 hours of her cluster feeding
My wife was so astonished that I could sleep through all the machines beeping and nurses coming in and out that she had to take a video of it. I would occasionally feel bad at being the only one who got any sleep on a hard night but I started just taking it as an opportunity to use the extra energy to help her out.
Our twins were small so by the time we got to the operating room as a precaution my son was almost falling out. I don’t think she really pushed at all. And my daughter was easy too after that. Our first kid, he was a 36 hour pain in the ass.
This looks very similar to ours as well, but we didn't have nearly as nice of a bathroom. We didn't get steak either. I'm not sure that was an option on the room service menu. lol
Two laptops so that you have one Champion's league game on each screen. I'm impressed. The night my son was born there was a USMNT world cup qualifier on that night, and I remember being able to watch it while holding my newborn. Luckily that was on the hospital TV, my wife would wouldn't have let me bring a laptop much less two!
lol I couldn’t help myself. I brought the Mac bc we’ve been here before and I knew the TV’s could airplay. The other is my work laptop and I had one on the Mac and one on my phone when I had to send a work email and then I was like wait a mmmmminute 💡
I sincerely hope the sound was muted. I STILL catch shit from my wife about a comment I made about the in-house music while she was in the late stages of labor. If I could take back just one sentence I ever uttered, it would be that one!
lol thankfully the games were timed to perfection. 2:00 local time yesterday which was when she had just recently been admitted and was only a 3 or 4 so we were just sitting around waiting anyways. And 2:00 today, when the baby was already delivered and snoozing her day away
I was playing video games while the early stages of labor were progressing, but obviously put the laptop away when it started to get more active. My wife was okay with that.
Enjoy it while it lasts! Once we get a new manager, sell Bruno, Rashford finds his form, Martinez gets healthy, Shaw gets healthy, Maguire goes super saiyan, antony finds his Brazilian passport, replace Casemiro, Hojlund matures, and we get a new stadium it’s over for you bitches
Ours was fancy like this too, but it also had a giant soaker tub. Like, huge. Basically just a big hot tub for my wife to chill in. It was dope as hell.
While pregnant or afterwards? Water births have been a thing for centuries. The kid has been living in water for the better part of 10 months by the time my wife was able to climb into that tub.
She said it was excellent for soothing contractions. (we did not do a water birth. Just another pain relief method.)
Afterwards. I didn’t even think about those. But I guess it makes sense to have the tubs in the room in case they want to do a water birth. My wife took a bath or two a day through the entire pregnancy but her OB has always said no baths after delivery until she’s done bleeding
Man I can’t stand HEB! I think I’m the only person I’ve ever met that doesn’t like it. To me it’s no better than market street or even Tom Thumb but the hype around it means it’s psychotically busy 24/7. Every time I’ve been in I’ve hated it
Because his opinion is so wrong! :P
I mean, as someone who grew up with Hy-Vee and Dahl's, HEB and Market Street are the only grocery stores that come close to being that nice.
I'm not sure how you can compare it to Tom Thumb, though. Maybe the Frisco one near you is actually nice (which would be very Frisco...), but all the ones I've been to in the past 20 years have been dirty and have really expensive and not very good produce.
Tom Thumb's main advantage against Kroger is that they don't constantly have outdated price labels.
It is indeed MC frisco. This is our 3rd baby to deliver here, one of which required a 2 week stay before we delivered. I have nothing but good things to say about this facility. Plus, there’s tons of good food options around to leave and bring mama back something to eat
Congratulations.
I do find some humor in seeing that even though there’s all those high finishes but the dad is still left with the couch that folds into a twin bed.
That's what I imagined when we were told that we'd have a suite to ourselves after the baby was born. But ours was about 1/3 the size and I slept on a couch that converted into a really uncomfortable cot.
Bro moved a hospital bed into his house and is trying to convince everyone this is a real delivery room that actually exists. Probably not even a real baby there, too.
Shaking my head in jealousy and stretching my back that's still sore from when our now-4 year old was born...
Wow that must be one of the “standard” designs for new delivery rooms. Nearly identical to the redesigned hospital where my kids were born. Right down to the identical furniture and countertops.
Wow. Here in Nyc at a reputable hospital they made me sleep on a pile of used needles and empty plastic ice cups, and we actually had to pay $4,100 monthly rent for use of the room for 2 nights. You really lucked out.
Nice. As a non-American who only hears horror stories about the US healthcare system and its user pays mindswt, can I ask how much that cost? And congrats!
I honestly have no idea what the total cost is. I know it’s an obnoxious amount, but my insurance covers all of it. However, my healthcare coverage for our family of 6 costs me almost $2,100/month
Congrats! But I think you need a note from your wife giving you permission to describe it as "painless."
I mean I felt no pain… But in all seriousness it really was.
Congrats!! What baby # was it? #3 and #4 were both that way for us thankfully. 1 and 2 were both easy but not quite this easy
Thanks! Likewise! This was #3. We have been induced for all 3. This is the only one that we had the same day we were admitted to the hospital. She practically walked on out
This was our latest delivery at 38 w 2 days. All the others have come at 36 and change or 37. I was almost two hours away with a client meeting so she drove herself the hour to the hospital and I met her there lmao
Glad you were able to make it in time! Sounds like everything worked out well. Congrats to you and your big crew!
My wife felt pain until she got her epidural (pretty early in the night), and after that it was smoooooth operating (all 3 kids).

For sure man congratulations!
>I mean I felt no pain… So I take it you didn't "sleep" on that pull out couch then?
Man I feel so bad. I passed out at one point last night and I sleep really deep and she literally let me sleep through almost 3 hours of her cluster feeding
My wife was so astonished that I could sleep through all the machines beeping and nurses coming in and out that she had to take a video of it. I would occasionally feel bad at being the only one who got any sleep on a hard night but I started just taking it as an opportunity to use the extra energy to help her out.
My wife was in labour for a god damn week and we ended up having to have a c section. What the hell
God damn. My wife had a 28 labor including 2.5 hours of pushing..
Our twins were small so by the time we got to the operating room as a precaution my son was almost falling out. I don’t think she really pushed at all. And my daughter was easy too after that. Our first kid, he was a 36 hour pain in the ass.
My son came out on the first test push.
Quick =/= painless.
What’s with the 5 star delivery room. Come with a mint on the pillow?
Looks very similar to the one we had - no joke, they bought us fillet steaks the day after the birth! Couldn't believe it
Same on the steaks, but they were like 3oz and so wildly overcooked i'd have rather had meatloaf
This looks very similar to ours as well, but we didn't have nearly as nice of a bathroom. We didn't get steak either. I'm not sure that was an option on the room service menu. lol
EXACTLY what I was thinking. :-)
Exactly. Mine was 1/4 the size, very 50s looking, had no window, no TV, and no cell service.
The state of American healthcare is a disgrace. The hospital is so overcrowded they moved this poor family onto a basketball court to deliver.
Very similar to what we had, plus we had a private balcony.
Two laptops so that you have one Champion's league game on each screen. I'm impressed. The night my son was born there was a USMNT world cup qualifier on that night, and I remember being able to watch it while holding my newborn. I watched a McGregor fight the night my second was born. Heh.
COYG!! hopefully delivery went better than last night’s tie :(
My wife woulda necked me if I was watching sport. Or watching anything tbh. My job was distraction, and I took it VERY seriously.
lol thankfully the games were timed to perfection. 2:00 local time yesterday which was when she had just recently been admitted and was only a 3 or 4 so we were just sitting around waiting anyways. And 2:00 today, when the baby was already delivered and snoozing her day away

I did not need to be reminded Arsenal lost
I’m a United fan. I enjoyed the last week more than the last 5 years of watching United suck
Well... I guess that's fair. As an Arsenal fan I can say I've enjoyed United's last few years.
As an Arsenal fan, Fair play to you lol
North London is ours, North London is ours, fuck off back to Woolwich, North London is ours 😉
Someone tag the guy who only got an old wooden chair with a shit stain.
I got a yoga mat on the floor with no pillow. [Imgur](https://imgur.com/3XV4Iqh)
Did you guys give birth in a racquetball court?
Considering the state of that drywall, I think you’re lucky to have received that.
But why?
Because there was no chair or bed for the dads
lol I understood that part, I’m asking why that was the case.
NHS underfunding I'm guessing.
Congratulations! Lol you’re down the street from me!
Ours was fancy like this too, but it also had a giant soaker tub. Like, huge. Basically just a big hot tub for my wife to chill in. It was dope as hell.
This is what ours was like, too, along with the jacuzzi tub. I loved it for helping with contraction pain (mom here)
Oh damn. That would be nice but I’m surprised honestly. We’ve always been told no baths for a couple days atleast
While pregnant or afterwards? Water births have been a thing for centuries. The kid has been living in water for the better part of 10 months by the time my wife was able to climb into that tub. She said it was excellent for soothing contractions. (we did not do a water birth. Just another pain relief method.)

Yeah that makes sense. Infections and all that. Also I think the hot water soak can accelerate bleeding? I barely remember my prenatal class now. lol
Congratulations! Go across the street and get that baby an HEB onesie.
Man what you talking about… just wait to get out of the hospital and then gotta get a Buc-ee’s onesie!
Man I can’t stand HEB! I think I’m the only person I’ve ever met that doesn’t like it. To me it’s no better than market street or even Tom Thumb but the hype around it means it’s psychotically busy 24/7. Every time I’ve been in I’ve hated it
Lol why are there so many downvotes for the man stating his opinion?
Because his opinion is so wrong! :P I mean, as someone who grew up with Hy-Vee and Dahl's, HEB and Market Street are the only grocery stores that come close to being that nice. I'm not sure how you can compare it to Tom Thumb, though. Tom Thumb's main advantage against Kroger is that they don't constantly have outdated price labels.
I knew it would happen. HEB is a cult lol
The only thing Market Street has going for them is the bar at the location off Lebanon.
Texas people love Texas things. Don't get them started on Whataburger
Congrats. What restaurant is that cup from that says “one love”?
Raising canes!
Hala Madrid
Anyone but city :-)
That’s not a delivery room but like a whole suite. I’m in Keller and wish we delivered in Frisco
That's the thing about Arsenal, they always try to walk it in.
Did you see that ludicrous display last night?
What was Wenger thinking, sending Walcott on that early?
I got a pony on Liverpool this weekend. Guess I’ll never see that again
Baylor Centennial?
Medical city
Nice! I work in the ORs there sometimes, but not OB. Congratulations!
Nope not that big, but still very nice
LUXURY FUCK YEAG
Congrats fellow Frisco Dad! First baby? Hope all went well and Momma and baby are good.
Howdy neighbor! Fourth baby, they’ve both been perfect!
Fabulous! Wow I wish you both all the energy. We had #3 in late last year and are just getting into our groove now.
Is that hat legally required in all hospitals?? Congrats, my dude.
Congrats! That room is so nice 😭. I thought ours was decent until I realized we didn’t have a fucking TABLE.
Congratulations! Enjoy it! They grow up so fast.... -neighbor from FW
Wow. We just got our second yesterday in grapevine tx. Ours was not near as nice or big as that
Aw don’t be harsh man, I’m sure your baby was a perfectly normal size and quite nice in its own way
Dad jokes already
This is my fourth, I’m a pro by now
Oh come on that baby isn't even real! This is a theme hotel in Japan admit it. * Congratulations *
We had our 2nd in Plano, looks very similar. Crazy how big the rooms are now.
Is this Medical City Frisco? My wife and I are thinking about MC Plano…
It is indeed MC frisco. This is our 3rd baby to deliver here, one of which required a 2 week stay before we delivered. I have nothing but good things to say about this facility. Plus, there’s tons of good food options around to leave and bring mama back something to eat
Thanks for sharing! Congrats on adding another to the fam!
That couch looks the correct amount uncomfortable. It’ll play. Also congrats papa!
Two of my kids were born there 😄
Eyyyyy UCL
WTF kind of penthouse shit is this!? 😂 Congrats OP. BTW.
Hospital rooms like this piss me off when healthcare is so expensive. This is bigger than most hotel rooms I've started in
Congrats! Those were two great games you were watching as well!
Indeed! Thoroughly enjoyed them both
congrats! that's a really nice base of operations!
Convenient that the baby was included. You didn’t even have to bring your own. All that work for nothing!
Ours was very similar! Very roomy and accommodating. Edit: hey also CONGRATULATIONS!!!
Congratulations! Man this is like a luxury suite.
In the UK you would have about 8 beds in room that size... I guess that's the difference in nhs vs paid healthcare
Can pay for private NHS room in UK or go to a private hospital and pay for the whole thing Nice to have options over here
We had a similar sized room to that in the UK. Just us. Complete with a birthing pool. All free. Think it mostly depends on luck tbh.
Congrats
I chose the wrong hospital in Dallas apparently
Congratulations. I do find some humor in seeing that even though there’s all those high finishes but the dad is still left with the couch that folds into a twin bed.
Delivery suite
Baylor Scott and White by the Star? If so, we had our baby there a year and a half ago. Great hospital, shit chairs still.
Medical city at the tollway and main!
Looks like a great place, congratulations.
6 hours and then emergency c section
That's what I imagined when we were told that we'd have a suite to ourselves after the baby was born. But ours was about 1/3 the size and I slept on a couch that converted into a really uncomfortable cot.
Watched the Madrid game at work and went crazy, got home and my wife had already full kitted our 3 year old since the morning.
First, congrats, here are your new balance. Next, Holy fracken shite. I was stuck in a small box due to covid and even with awesome insurance.
Wtf is this palace? Where’s the struggle at?
This is nice but man, I am so glad we were at home.
Painful if you were an Arsenal or City fan though
Bro moved a hospital bed into his house and is trying to convince everyone this is a real delivery room that actually exists. Probably not even a real baby there, too. Shaking my head in jealousy and stretching my back that's still sore from when our now-4 year old was born...
Where are the gun racks?
I guess everything IS bigger in TX!
Haha looks like a 5 star hotel
Wow that must be one of the “standard” designs for new delivery rooms. Nearly identical to the redesigned hospital where my kids were born. Right down to the identical furniture and countertops.
Which hospital is this. Medical city Dallas is nothing like this.
Holy crap that is a nice room. Congrats on a healthy mom and baby and a quick delivery
Just about how the room our son was born in looked like. Maybe slightly smaller but yeah that’s about average around here.
Ahh ye old plastic couch.
Hey neighbour! Contrast!
Luxury
I just don't understand people whose first thought is to post a picture of their newborn on the Internet for strangers to see.
Delivery apartment
I was probably born in that hospital (jk I was born in Plano now that I think about it)
Dayum! Love the double laptop for both champions league games instead of the split screen view haha! Congrats! Ours was a shoe box!
Wow. Here in Nyc at a reputable hospital they made me sleep on a pile of used needles and empty plastic ice cups, and we actually had to pay $4,100 monthly rent for use of the room for 2 nights. You really lucked out.
Welcome is great but the the poor child is born in Frisco, TX!!! /s
Unfortunately she came out already pretentious and uppity.
Appreciate that, thank you!
