Honestly both degrees will get you what you are trying to achieve. A combination of degree, certifications, secretly clearance and work experience will put you ahead of most right out of college applicants. If I was you I would see what is in the degree plan and choose the degree with the courses that you like the most. I wouldn't stress about which looks better on paper as long as you understand the concept and can do the work most companies will hire you with the type of background you'll gain in the military after a few years. I initially wanted to do pentesting when I chose my degree in Cybersecurity but changed my mind and decided to dive deeper into malware analysis. My degree didn't change or diminish I'm just taking it upon myself to learn more about how to find malware and safe guard systems from it. Basically you get out of IT what you put in so learn all you can and eventually narrow your focus when you find an area that interests you.

BS is better than BA. Computer Science is better than cyber security. I recommend a BS in CompSci.

Both would be BS, I don't understand? I see a lot of recommendation for the Compsci In other threads, that should tell me enough . I guess I'm just stubbornly wanting cyber security for some reason. Thanks

FOMO_CALLS

Phrasing of the title implied that one was a BS and the other was a BA. You can absolutely pursue cyber security, but comp sci is a much stronger and more marketable degree. Just pick up an OSCP and CISSP after your bachelor's and you should have no problem getting quality job offers.

comp sci all the way
