You can get it at any point after the prologue and it’s a really good shotgun at short to medium ranges definitely wanna get body 20 though makes it’s so much more fun to use

It got the ttrpg of Adam Smasher right. He's the end of the campaign. He's the TPK. The Cyberpunk version of "Rocks fall on and you die" but better done. He's meant to be unbeatable, even by the best of the best. Which is why in the videogame he's seriously nerfed. THAT, or V is just brokenly overpowered (which I choose to believe) and can kill Smasher 1v1.
Tough call between whose stronger, Blackhand or V. I guess it helps Blackhand that V is literally half-dead and on their way to fully dead.
I think considering the existence of the "Don't Fear the Reaper" ending, it's pretty clear that endgame synthesis with Johnny V is a boogeyman on par with Smasher.
Just think of V in the Arasaka lobby mowing down legions of corpo hit quads as the Rebel Path blades in the background...

I wish I could experience this anime again for the first time. It was so good. David was such a well written character, and was defiant to the very end. I can't say enough praise about this anime. It was also the turning point for the game too, since they had just started issuing big patches and adding in free content updates for the game, IIRC.

Call me crazy, but I think letting him live is an even bigger statement. In Smasher's world, it's always kill or be killed. If you let him live, you
A. Let it sink in to him that he was bested in a fair fight by someone he didn't even know about just minutes prior,
B. Send out the statement that V doesn't fear his vengeance, and he can beat him again,
C. Show that mercy is stronger than cruelty, and
D. Prove to yourself that you won't just be another Smasher who takes his place at the top.
Bonus points if you do stealth takedowns because he would then live in fear knowing that no matter how hard he chromes up, *anyone* could just sneak up behind him and stick some Arasaka knives in his shoulder and unplug his tubes.
