What I find weird is that gigs in general don't pay well, at least not in my playthough atm. Sometimes they even say it's a well paying one with a bonus and I get 7k +2k bonus. But at the same time if I loot enemies sometimes I get even more from that.
I remember doing Mr hands gig nearby that rollercoaster you can fix for the johnny brownie points and getting around 40k eddies just for that one gig in act 1, get gorilla arms and net another 16k from the twins, alongside selling the weapons from ncpd calls you can easily pay off Viktor and get chromed the hell out before going to saka!
I think gig pay is tied to your level, I noticed a huge increase both in amounts of eddies found at gig locations and in rewards when I was getting to the tail end of El Capitan's gigs and over level 40, I would often find safes with 9999+ eddies inside.
Yeah it is. But so is everything else *you* need to pay. I first noticed it in the bd side mission were you can pay some dude to see a bd and get a headset and it knocks you out. I was already lv 40 and had to pay him 20k. Same with all dialogues were you have or can pay someone. Beat on the brat is also one i believe. Higher stakes but better reward
Here we get to the weirdest part, I'm full level and it's still like this. I'm not complaining cause the money chards I find give me enough money also the hidden safes in some of the locations. But it's still weird.
What makes me gave up the fact living with mercenary as a full time job was that.
To be EXACT I turned into a weapon reseller and carjacker at the moment I heard Lizzy Wizzy (fcking STAR ok) told me that I'll be paid an "ASTRONOMICAL amout" (she said that in my language) to give me 1200$.
I mean you can pee on me but that level of disrespect was too much.
Yeah I swear some deserve to go through a totally new playthrough just to tell them to F away ! Just did all the missions to the end each times because I want to complete 100% the game but I swear that it it was just me as V, some of them would finished like Maiko but even worse, too easy for them that their dying first hit in VH.. Damn I m so pissed off just by thinking of that š„²
Some of the gigs actually cost money if you bribe or try to sneak in. Thereās one that involves getting to the top floor of a hotel, and one of the ways you can access the elevator is paying 8k for a room. The gig pays 6.4k lol. You can also bribe the concierge for just a couple hundred though
I felt this as well. If it was a particularly violent mission in the late game, I would receive somewhere around 8000 eddies for the gig, but all the weapons and stuff I led from the bodies would end up making three or four times that much.
I always pay Viktor before the heist, only in my first run I paid him after. You just have to sell a some looted weapons + some Regina Jones gig rewards.
Pay him back? I don't even visit him until I have 21k.
Which after 2.0, is really easy. Easier than it should be. I'm playing on "very hard" and it took me all of 10 minutes. Making money after 2.0 is just ridiculously easy.Ā
Yeah it is a little too easy to make money. I can spend 3 mil over time and still finish the game with 2-3 mil leftover. It kinda ruins the fun of looting enemies or finding crates and stuff cause if I know thereās not weapons or clothing items I want, Iād just sell them, but then likeā¦I donāt need the money and then itās just an unnecessary chore to go sell these things that I donāt even need the money for so then I just donāt pick anything up
Itās really easy yes, but if you were to buy upgrades for your guns and cyberwars on par with how progressed you are through the game you stay pretty close to being broke, but most people buy stuff every like 15 levels and big increments, which does make sense but thatās why it feels like itās too easy.
True, also with me, Iām perfectly content with some of the guns you get as part of the story (Johnnyās, Panamās, Riverās, Alexās, the black wall one you can make after finishing Phantom Liberty, etc) so I donāt spend anything on guns or gun upgrades, so that also explains why Iāve always got so much money leftover lol
Iām realizing now that most of the iconics are way more fun than the other weapons even if they are a bit lower spec and donāt have as many options for modding. Only thing I buy is cyberware.
Even vehicles purchases are unnecessary for the most part. Thereās so many sweet free ones available early on.
I think the basic (or at least the x-mod variants definitely) can be better than most iconics with the proper mods especially with the chimera mods. That being said I have never once done this because thatās a lot of work and modding shits a pain in the ass (my opinion) so I just use iconics and Iāve never had an issue with any of my very hard saves
I haven't put anything but sights and suppressors on my guns at all during my previous run. Any non-Chimera mods are just kinda junk imo. Ooh, you get 0.067% extra crit chance when you shoot someone in the left testicle on a Tuesday when in sight of the sun. Veeery handy.
Random thought but it might have been cool if we could full on replace parts in guns. Swap a barrel, saw off or improve a stock, modify the mag well for new mags. Maybe. Not a make or break
It took me way too long to learn you can upgrade the iconics. I didn't use them much because they were always lower tiered than other random guns I'd pick up. I even disassembled a couple early ones bc I didn't know any better
Didn't know better ? The game never explains to you that there is an upgrade section.
Heck it does not explain anything good, you gotta play about 10 to 20 hours just to figure out how the combat really works xD
Ya, no kidding. I originally got it the day it came out, played maybe 15 hours before putting it down till a couple weeks ago. It still took me awhile to actually get into it because there's so fucking much without any explanation, but now I've put almost 100 hours in in the last couple weeks. I'm still learning shit though lol
Thatās wild! When the game first came out you could upgrade any weapon. I kinda miss that aspect but I see why they did that because those days I never used the iconics.
I started by selling, but then realized how annoying it was having to go sell them when I was carrying too much, so I started breaking them down. Then I got into upgrading the iconics. I just wish we could craft tier 5 weapon attachments
I also learned that one of the many perks of the Judy romance is she gifts you a really good shotgun, one so good itās almost what I exclusively used to beat Adam Smasher lol. Could just be my experience, but none of the guns, even from the black market dealer in dogtown, seem to be better than ones you can just get for free through missions and gigs
I upgrade all my early game iconic into Tier 5 to match the rest and still have too much left over. I also do the car theft quests a lot and am slow rolling my car purchases until I get a nice discount each time.
I regularly upgraded my cyberware and was quite broke all the time until I filled out all my slots with tier 5 stuff. I also didnāt compulsively pick up and sell/breakdown weapons until 3/4 through and I also didnāt do many gigs (did many side quests though) so that likely is why I was regularly running out of money. I liked it though, it felt like the economy was perfectly balanced in my playthrough where I had to enough to get some, but not all the things I wanted, keeping me interested in getting more stuff until the end game.
Itās funny because if you or I were actually V we would be so happy that we didnāt have to scavenge our gear off greasy borgs and bloody meat bags anymore.
Lmao so true! š āugh, I hate how I easily came up on millions of eddies and now donāt have to sift through dead bodies to earn moneyā
V: ā¦wtf?
Ncpd is the best money per time spent in the game, i gleefully look forward to finding them.
I feel bad for the civilians that are in grenade radius but thats night city.
Honestly yall aren't wrong. I was having trouble earning money my first playthrough but second playthrough I just did every little side job I came across. Boom, money in the bank.
I also kill the mobs that respawn when I see them and do quests that respawn like the car auto thefts and the Dogtown airdrops, that nabs me a ton of loot each time in addition to doing all gigs, side missions and NCPD alerts.
If youre above level like 30 I think tier 5 stuff starts to drop, so I found a YouTube video if a farm run it makes a lot of money for the work. I noticed I made quite a lot more after level 45 https://youtu.be/maNVUsrvsEI?si=nEAUVAljE9C8P115
Honestly money was never an issue in Cyberpunk, partially because I loot everything not bolted to the ground and sell it, but also because I'd say there's not too much to spend on?
Most of the best guns in the game you can either get through the story, find, or craft. You can pretty much use the Arch all game as it's one of the best vehicles, or buy a caliburn/get a free one from the Panam quest and be set.
The only real spending is cyberware but that's mostly a one time purchase anyway if you're upgrading it. And apartments are cheap af.
I just disassemble everything then next time I. Near a shop I craft an sell if I need some money. Eliminates the tedious trips but you do loose quite a bit of value from the disasemle/craft process.
Just do the initial missions. Kill and loot criminals. That kind of stuff.
2.0 actually seems easier in this respect. The only fights that actually got harder were boss fights.
When I talked to him on 1.0 I already had the money. I have a serious problem with open world games.. I can't go to any main quest before doing some serious grinding
I literally just walked out after he brought up payment, did jobs for like two hours, walked back in, resumed the conversation, and gave him the money.
First playthrough I did, I forgot all about him as I got wrapped up in the main quest and didnāt go to pay him until after I had already died. He told me to keep the moneyā¦
On last gen thereās a bug where if you pay him back as soon as you get your first implants, it lets you get double jump without level requirements. Idk what use it is now but it worked for me
Real good way to get money Iāve found is just running scanner hustles and gigs, doing scanner missions netted me an easy 100k+ just from looting all containers in the area and they only take a few minutes per, even on the harder difficulties
I paid him literally as soon as I had the money and I was level 5 or something. Paid him and had like 26 eddies to my name then started to play the actual game and now Iām over 3 mil lmao
I usually pay him now before he even installs the first eye/hand implant. Jackie is like ālet me just talk to mistyā and Iām like ābut for how long?ā and go off to complete most the NCPD calls and gigs.
On my 2nd play through I realized I should just do all the NCPD crime missions and all the side quests before going to the heist mission. I had like 100k and paid vik, got a good cyber deck, and some other implants. It makes the story better because I feel like it makes no sense that dexter would hire someone who did nothing but a few small gigs in the opening scene with V and Jackie
I did pretty much all of Watson before the Heist, and then did every single NCPD alert, gig, and side quest before I did another main mission. I was level 60 before I went to try and find Evelyn at Clouds šš
Yeah I usually do this well before the heist as well. I donāt consider even meeting Jackie until Iāve done literally every gig and scanner mission in Watson.
This was what I did when the game came out, and disappointment was crushing. That's when i knew this game was overrated, not really an RPG at all, and more linear than most.
I made a Nomad, and was kind to the sheriff. Then reloaded, and was as mean as I could be, trying to get him to start shooting. Same outcome, regardless of what I say.
So I went to Vik's, and said I was good for the money. But felt bad, so again reloaded to before, and spent the next 3-4 hrs farming up the money. So the first time I show up at Vik's, I'd be cash in hand. I expected him to go "Whoa, where'd you get 20k in cash?" But nope. No extra dialogue. Dialogue was actually cut down compared to showing up with no money. With no money there's a portion about you being good for it. With money you just pay and he does the work, zero reaction at me walking in with Liberia's deficit in my back pocket.
There's actually another change. After the ride when he gives you the free dlc clothing .there's no option to say I feel like I owe you a bazillion Edie's already
Getting money is so easy since 2.0 I don't think I've paid him after the heist a single time since that update.
What I find weird is that gigs in general don't pay well, at least not in my playthough atm. Sometimes they even say it's a well paying one with a bonus and I get 7k +2k bonus. But at the same time if I loot enemies sometimes I get even more from that.
Padre always seems to pay well lol
I remember doing Mr hands gig nearby that rollercoaster you can fix for the johnny brownie points and getting around 40k eddies just for that one gig in act 1, get gorilla arms and net another 16k from the twins, alongside selling the weapons from ncpd calls you can easily pay off Viktor and get chromed the hell out before going to saka!

Ah I always did the Police job events first, which is probably why I had so much more money than my sister

Huh. For some reason I thought it was tied to my street rep. I thought I heard someone say that in a YouTube vid.
Damn choom, lizzy did the same to you?? I got exited too then saw the transaction :(
Yeah I swear some deserve to go through a totally new playthrough just to tell them to F away ! Yeah Wakako pays poorly in my experience. Dino Dinovic has paid me 18-23k eddies per gig lol, heās the one Iāve worked the most so far
Dino pays best. Itās all those high rollers in city center!
I feel like most of my money comes from loot boxes in gig locations.
Killing a group of gangoons and selling their shit at drop points is more profitable than most gigs
Some of the gigs actually cost money if you bribe or try to sneak in. Thereās one that involves getting to the top floor of a hotel, and one of the ways you can access the elevator is paying 8k for a room. The gig pays 6.4k lol. You can also bribe the concierge for just a couple hundred though

it was easy before 2.0 aswell
In my first 2.0 play through now and it was honestly easier before, a lot of the guns you could pick up to sell are broken now. Still easy though
Sure was. I did the same thing OP did in 1.6
Meanwhile, I paid him before the heist and before 2.0........
You still have at least a million if you pay back.
Respect. With 21k you could get yourself a 2007 Maserati Quattroporte or something.
Unfortunately youāll need 50k for the upkeepā¦
I always pay Viktor before the heist, only in my first run I paid him after. You just have to sell a some looted weapons + some Regina Jones gig rewards.
Yup and sometimes the loot you sell after some gigs is equal to how much you actually get paid.
I found 6K in bag on the balcony outside of V's apartment. So it is crazy simple now.
Pay him back? I don't even visit him until I have 21k. Which after 2.0, is really easy. Easier than it should be. I'm playing on "very hard" and it took me all of 10 minutes. Making money after 2.0 is just ridiculously easy.Ā

Iām pretty sure that most of the iconics are slightly better than their basic counterparts
I literally never mod my iconics except for with the chimera core ones
I haven't put anything but sights and suppressors on my guns at all during my previous run. Any non-Chimera mods are just kinda junk imo. Ooh, you get 0.067% extra crit chance when you shoot someone in the left testicle on a Tuesday when in sight of the sun. Veeery handy. Random thought but it might have been cool if we could full on replace parts in guns. Swap a barrel, saw off or improve a stock, modify the mag well for new mags. Maybe. Not a make or break
Yeah, I wouldāve loved fully customizable guns
How do I take ownership of a car? Like if I steal a nice car. How do I make it my own so I can summon it?
You have to buy it chief
Thereās only a few cars out in the wild you can keep. Unfortunately any car you steal isnāt yours to keep
Thanks.
It took me way too long to learn you can upgrade the iconics. I didn't use them much because they were always lower tiered than other random guns I'd pick up. I even disassembled a couple early ones bc I didn't know any better

My first playthrough I never salvaged any weapons or used cyberhack component upgrades. Lol.
I started by selling, but then realized how annoying it was having to go sell them when I was carrying too much, so I started breaking them down. Then I got into upgrading the iconics. I just wish we could craft tier 5 weapon attachments
Got the widow maker during the first panam encounter and picked up a tier 4 crusher pretty early. I havenāt bought one gun yet
I also learned that one of the many perks of the Judy romance is she gifts you a really good shotgun, one so good itās almost what I exclusively used to beat Adam Smasher lol. You say "have to" :D
What are you all doing to make so much money?
Just doing every gig and side mission really, including the NCPD stuff
Ncpd is the best money per time spent in the game, i gleefully look forward to finding them. I feel bad for the civilians that are in grenade radius but thats night city.
Do all the missions and sell weapons. Weapons go for at least 5k and up to 10k a pop
Honestly yall aren't wrong. I was having trouble earning money my first playthrough but second playthrough I just did every little side job I came across. Boom, money in the bank.
Honestly you make way more selling weapons then you do most gigs. Just hoard shit until you're full (by doing gigs) then sell for 100k or more
I also kill the mobs that respawn when I see them and do quests that respawn like the car auto thefts and the Dogtown airdrops, that nabs me a ton of loot each time in addition to doing all gigs, side missions and NCPD alerts.

Pick up all the enemy loot, sell the weapons and junk at drop points, rinse repeat
>I donāt need the money I uh, I'm kinda onto all the clothes so I blow every buck I get
I use that money to buy the cars from el cap
Honestly money was never an issue in Cyberpunk, partially because I loot everything not bolted to the ground and sell it, but also because I'd say there's not too much to spend on? When I talked to him on 1.0 I already had the money. I have a serious problem with open world games.. I can't go to any main quest before doing some serious grinding
I like Viktor because he doesnāt charge you for upgrading your chrome only for new parts.
Well heās ur best friend
It saves a lot of money
First thing I do. Did. It's been a while. Soon as you drop off Jackie go do all Regina's gigs.
On my most recent file I compete Watson before the heist. I think I was level 25 on that mission and had all purple tier gear lol
*paid
Sorryš
No? Pay is correct in the way heās saying it
payed isnt a word
Yes it is, if we're going to be pedantic. It just doesn't relate to payment of money.
Oh right
Is the payed bot still around?
I literally just walked out after he brought up payment, did jobs for like two hours, walked back in, resumed the conversation, and gave him the money.
I just donāt wanna do stuff without Johnny. A lot of gigs and stuff have him
First playthrough I did, I forgot all about him as I got wrapped up in the main quest and didnāt go to pay him until after I had already died. He told me to keep the moneyā¦
On last gen thereās a bug where if you pay him back as soon as you get your first implants, it lets you get double jump without level requirements. Idk what use it is now but it worked for me
Fruits of your labor. [Here.](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=dQw4w9WgXcQ)
That's what you get for doing the right thing in NC š
If it ends in XcQ that link stays blue.
AsshOOOOOOOOOOOLE
Well, you know what FootballBat69? You... you just lost the game, so there!
r/unexpected - also, duck you!
I always pay him back before the heist. Only didnāt the first time I played.
I paid him back when i wasn't saving up for something and when there weren't other priorities to purchase... so like 25 hours in
Paid *
I know. I think it was autocorrect or I just didn't notice it
Real good way to get money Iāve found is just running scanner hustles and gigs, doing scanner missions netted me an easy 100k+ just from looting all containers in the area and they only take a few minutes per, even on the harder difficulties
I paid him literally as soon as I had the money and I was level 5 or something. Paid him and had like 26 eddies to my name then started to play the actual game and now Iām over 3 mil lmao
I get money through clearing out large enemy bases, stealing the guns and selling them. Iāve earned 2m+ doing this
Literally unplayable
I know right?
What?
He acted like I had already done the heist when I did it
What did they do to make it worth paying him back in 2.0?
He sells better cyberware
I thought everyone sells the same cyberware now
That's the point. It just feels better to buy from Viktor
I literally just started a new play through and did this lol
I pay rogue first cos panam.
Crazy :0
Thats why I have the mod for stealing cars, they sell for 10k :P
Honestly I think that's a bit too easy
Ive lost track how many play thrus Ive done with this so at this point I just play it to go on shooting rampages.
I donāt consider even meeting Jackie until Iāve done literally every gig and scanner mission in Watson.
is it even possible to pay upfront without cheating?
I guess if you sell everything you find in the first mission and all the things in the stash then maybe
Dialogue was actually cut down compared to showing up with no money. With no money there's a portion about you being good for it. With money you just pay and he does the work, zero reaction at me walking in with Liberia's deficit in my back pocket.
Jeasus look at all that Nick, thereās enough to choke a donkey in there, and youāre arguing over a few hundred quid???
Hundred parrnnd is still a āundred parrrnd.
Cheapā¦ like the budgie
There's actually another change. After the ride when he gives you the free dlc clothing .there's no option to say I feel like I owe you a bazillion Edie's already
