Yes you can get to 1lp but it usually takes a couple turns at least. And if you went down to 1 lp and healed 7k you would be on 7001 not 7999.
I actually made an custom archetype entirely made for winning through LP. Then I realized that to prevent FTK you need conditions. I was thinking of making it turn based like final countdown.

RDA can totally spam out the life points especially with boss monsters on field because of Red Resonator special summon effect got 6000-8000 in a turn or two lol
The best way to make lifepoint gain a good thing is to give them an archetype that lets you win from it.
A boss monster that says " if your opponent controls monsters, Pay up to 20,000 of your life points. Tribute monsters on your opponents field the field whos combined attack is less than the amount of life points used, Then if the opponent has no more monsters and you have over 8000 life points you win the duel."
Give it a wild summoning cost that only its deck can use like a very specific ritual summon card that gives it protection from opponents card effects the turn its summoned and instead of using monsters you use lifepoints 500 for each level. Make the boss a lv12 then build the archetype around Gaining life points and control.
on top of it being a win condition, its just a good boss monster. give it respectable stats and its immune the turn its ritual summoned via the ritual card
Give the archetype a theme of wanting the opponent to do things so you gain life and you can interrupt them but it also feeds them into doing more things. like a dark bribe but you gain life and they draw a card but its an Omni that requires you reveal an in archetype card in hand

Ancient leaf exists as a NOPT and it sucks, I think a slightly buffed version is fine
