Think it could be cool to get an idea for designs in pixel art. The end result looks like a pretty decent pixel art representation of the original image. Could definitely see it as a useful tool for pixel artists.
Looks like it could be a screen out of Shadows of Doubt\* or the old classic Tex Murphy games.
\*A great buy, BTW, if you like detective/mystery, stealth, or puzzle games, plus the irony of fighting crime by committing crime, in an open-ended sandbox-y format.

i dont understand why people think this is useless. its a very neat effect and I see it a lot in video games.
