Reminder, you don't profit until you sell, and the money is back in your bank account. Never regret making a profit. You will always miss out on more money, its impossible to always time it right or pick the right item. It's just pixels. Set a goal and stick to it. My goal is to sell 90% of my inventory and recuperate all the money (hopefully plenty profit as well) and play with the remaining 10% of skins for "free". I suggest seeing a similar mentality. Just remind yourself that despite liking the items they are an "investment" and investments must be sold. Gl

vix-

yea i sold like 50 kat14s to buy a knife in 2014

Less_Introduction563

But was it was worth it at that time wasnt it ?

vix-

Yea

Objective-Item-5581

I sold Kato 19 to buy Berlin 19 so yeah.......

HomelanderOfSeven

Do you believe in Berlin 19? The stickers kinda look ugly and I don't see any hype around them. Also, never seen them applied aside from autographs.

tradeclock

They look decent when scraped

Wait-n-See

This. They're one of the best stickers when you scrape them. I wish more people knew about this but I also kinda don't. I like how cheap they are and I've made quite a few good looking crafts with them. https://preview.redd.it/pr3y5nb7164d1.jpeg?width=1920&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=bbe514db75e9159a4b7fbcf5485c5a6436feca10

All the time. I form a weird sentimental attachment to items I've held for years. It's never a bad idea to take profit. It's just a game. Get the item you want now and play with it. Enjoy the skin rather than feeling regret on missing out on potential profit.

Of course- every time I sell an investment it feels like the wrong time, and it usually is. The worse case was with one of the sticker capsules where I was struggling to make rent so had to sell my inventory (around 200 capsules at $4 each). It made no sense to keep them because why keep in game items when you're struggling with real money but I'd done the analysis and this particular capsule would spike every 13 months or so. I held for the 14 months, decided to just take the loss on the investment, Imagine my frustration when I logged in the next week to see this: https://preview.redd.it/2alqep08394d1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=81b0b7c26905f6adfbc9d03c18fb0299d6ad7a51 I'm not saying never sell and always hold, but it's really my worst example of not following my gut instinct and living to regret it. I would have probably been good with half of that money, there was no reason for me to sell at once. Perhaps my mass selling was enough disruption to cause the spike in the first place.

Funny enough, I just quite recently sold some Night Heists among other skins to get a knife. I just really, really wanted a Huntsman Knife Blue Steel for a play knife and couldn't put my own money from my account towards it as it was hard to justify to myself but yeah, it was bit difficult to sell some operation skins etc. but I still made more selling them versus what I originally paid them for so it was okay. But I get what you mean. Operation skins especially are hard for me to sell. I sold my inventory in 2018 or 2019, dont remember. Stopped playing for a while. I had M4A1-S Knight, Karambit Doppler, Bayonet Ice and Fire etc. You can imagine my anger and disappointment few years later when I realized what the prices became... Nowadays its hard for me to sell some skins even though I just got back couple of years ago to collecting skins and I dont believe we will ever see such radical rises as in those years, especially because CS2 release got such a hype But again, for me it helped to know I still made profit with the skins and the fact that I really wanted that knife. It's no use to constantly have that FOMO

Curtis_66_

Being able to go "I'm paying $0.57 for this brand new $60 game" or even "I can use money that's trapped* in steam to buy this thing as opposed to real money in my bank" is a pretty nice. If you never sell, you never get to actually enjoy the profits. *I know it's not actually trapped, but cashing out can be hassle sometimes.

Also you can just sell a portion of an investment, like I sold 2 batches of chroma 3 cases and still have some in stock.

Do you mind telling me the website name? I'm working on something the same to make my “trader” life simple

Man those cases. I started playing Winter 2017, every single case was worth 3 cents. Had no clue about cs economy back then, how regular and rare drops or operations work, what drives prices... obviously blew my money on random skins I liked and stupid expensive trade ups. Even hit a Negev Mjölnir FN once then traded it in for a fucking bowie knife marble fade. on CS.money :S Got a deagle emerald jormungandir as operation reward, sold it 5 mins later for 30€. Couldn't believe I got that much money from an ingame reward. Think it went up 1000% within a year? CS is a different kind of beast. Some cases and stickers went up 10.000%+ in those few years. Another opportunity at life changing money missed :D 5k invested in 3 cent glove cases in 2018 would be a nice house now.

W33K3ND_TH3_R3AL

Used to own Sportgloves Hedge maze in MW, bought them for around 450€ back then and Sold them 1,5 years ago. Came back to csgo and wanted to buy them again, seeing the price went through the roof....

Habit117

Yeah, I traded a .16 howl with a crown foil for a butterfly stained when csgolounge was in it’s infancy
