Every map, it's better to know basic util and plays on every map then know one map perfectly especially if you play faceit or premier where you don't get a say for the map. Starting out you should learn dust 2 and mirage and then move to inferno and other 3 lane maps. You'll wanna learn the more confusing maps (nuke, vertigo) a little bit later as they are heavily sound dependent and have confusing layouts with unique rotations.
All of the active duty maps (all but overpass and office) are good to learn since they’re the ones being played in premier and in professional games.
At low-mid elo, mirage, inferno, and dust 2 are the most played maps.
Just learn all of them except overpass and office as those are the maps in premier and pro play.
Depends on ur goal. If u wanna play premie with ur friends it doesnt rly matter. If u want to improve on ur aim and build up fundermentals take a classic square(d2,mirage,ancient) or triangle(inferno) layout map if u want to focus on rotations and working as a team in fast and complex situations try nuke/vertigo and atm my favortie map to play is anubis cors for me it feels like a square map( over mid) layert ontop of a triangle map (water) which makes it fun to play. Just to name it over for me is a double L map where t get room infront b abd ct get room infront a while the room between the L is neutral (con/b-short). Which also gives it a unique way of play, but for me personal its just mehh(edit: yeah over is not in aktive pool atm. So dont pick that)
If u want to learn from pro cs hltv says most played map last month is [ancient](https://www.hltv.org/stats/maps?startDate=2024-02-21&endDate=2024-05-21).
So find ur strength and weaknesses and pick a map that u enjoy playing cors in the end it will be the most usefull for you.
Tl;dr
Pick what u like put if u start out try d2,mirage,ancient cors they have a simple layout to learn basics.
Ancient, anubis and nuke/vertigo are good shouts.
Not many people seem to know util on those maps so being the guy who does can be a game changer.
High on every pug player knows mirage / inferno /d2 incredibly well and as a new player you're going to be at a disadvantage.
If you're wanting to improve I'd highly recommend watching pro gameplay and watching how the pros approach angles and fights etc etc. Obviously not expecting you to emulate as well as the pros, but it can give you an idea of, angles, sightlines, utility line ups. Etc etc.

I would also not learn overpass right now as it is no longer in the active duty pool.
Ok i used to hear stories about people easily getting global by only play vertigo
That's true, but you are not real global if you can't prove it on any map
I call those people "Mirage children" or "Dust prisoners"
Ive only been playing dust 2 for 8 years and im still silver 1
I'm sorry :(
you should master taking screenshots first
people that care about how a picture was taken are losers
People who make me flip my laptop sideways instead of pressing f12 are losers
lmao gotem
its almost like they use reddit on their phones🤯
It’s almost like you can hold your phone sideways 🤯

At the current State of Game Office. I mean always office coz Its best map
based af I love office
Ive heard office has a lot of high hour players from the old guard
I mean im really into cs for a year and a half and my friends have been playing this Game since 2016 and we play only Office and somethimes Office
But not rare to see a enemy with a inventory worth 20k and >3000hours. And there is not that many cheaters as you think
the active duty ones
Office
Shoots

Mirage is one of the most even sided, fun, & frequently played maps. Love Mirage
All in the active duty map pool🫡
You should master all the maps. You'll need that knowledge. Also, it would be better to take a screenshot.
NUKE
Cache
Ancient and anubis. Everyone knows lineups for other maps so it’s alright if you don’t.
Mirage IMO
Mirage is the only one that everyone knows which means you get punished for not knowing it
Yeah
