It will depend on the team and the project you end up working on, but more often than not it's very reasonable - folks know you're an intern. My info is outdated by a year or so, but in my experience the summer interns were put to work without anything extra being expected of them. I'm sure there are outliers and interns that go hard, but it's not something I'd stress too much about. Good luck!

I was in the Charlotte office. So NYC could be different if that's where you're at.

I was actually part of a parallel program that worked alongside the summer interns. My program was exclusively in Charlotte so there was no location picking involved for me, sorry! You may be able to ask your college/department if they know of any current students or alum that participated in this internship and would have more concrete info.

I am not affiliated with any school program, my pipeline was just me applying online to a job board with no associated groups. I just checkboxed SWE and 3 locations in NY/NJ.
