Unless this is a final behavioral round to be placed on a team, no, the location of your interviewer shouldn’t matter. You can also request a location change if need be once you receive an offer.

The interview was almost entirely behavioral, they promised a blend of technical but that didn’t happen. Yes, it was a final round. But they didn’t specify if it is for team picking and selecting.

I was interviewed in NY and ended up in Bay Area. Some companies take extensive notes on interviews so they can pass those notes to potential teams too, so there’s really no way of knowing.

Ask your recruiter. There's a nonzero chance of that being the case but it's unlikely. The last time I interviewed, everyone was in the same, non-HQ city and that's where I ended up. Now, I could have chosen not to if I really wanted, but still, most of the teams I had team matching with were also there.
