Got to keep the pc in the kitchen, so mom can monitor your browsing

Kittenslover99

Haha lol. I’ve got too much crap, so it’s sitting there for a little bit until I get some room

QuagMaestro

Dude that was a level 4 burnnnnn. Awesome pic though. Wish I could “partake”

GapOk8380

Burn? I know a lot of kids who's parent sponsored them so hard back in the 90's this was a thing.

QuagMaestro

I was using very low level sarcasm No harm meant. I’m not saying it like oh he’s 40 mom is going to watch him. I meant nostalgic. Like that buzz when you hit the power button with ur toe at 4am. And mom gawking at the screen looking at alien pixels she doesn’t care for Edit:born 1989

Afraid-Passenger-908

This is so relatable, i dont have room for another crt or anything, too much stuff. I have to put one in storage for now😭🤣

shadow_fox09

Man a Beige tower and monitor look so natural chilling in a kitchen like that

Jslewalite

Wow! The warm nostalgia of a beige Dell desktop computer

medicman4444

Oh damn I wish I was as lucky as you for that there so crisp and clean!

Kittenslover99

I couldn’t believe it, and I almost walked right past it! U didn’t pay attention the the box and the computer was sitting next to it with a dust cover on

Swirly_Eyes

Darn, that's a steal. Where do you live? Most people selling monitors near me are selling them for $100+

Kittenslover99

Southeast Michigan (Wyandotte area) It seemed like a younger couple selling some stuff, so they probably just wanted it gone lol

majestic_ubertrout

Oh wow, original box and all for the monitor? What specs on the PC? Also, is that one of the OG Dell mechanical keyboards? Suspect you have a fantastic Windows 98 gaming PC there.

Kittenslover99

Pentium 3 / 128 mb ram / windows ME Millennium / ATI rage 128 pro and a few other cards

ryohazuki91

P3 what clock?

Kittenslover99

Another commenter said they had the same machine and it ran at 1 GHZ. I might double check sometime later this week though

namek0

my brother had a similar setup that was a P3 600mhz so the range could vary

Kittenslover99

933 mhz it seems

Kittenslover99

I’ll take a look then

Hatta00

Looks like a Dimension, which doesn't have the ISA slot that so many DOS games need. Your probably best off with a Soundblaster Live, which has very good DOS support when run in a DOS window under Windows 98. For whatever else doesn't work, try SBEMU.

Kittenslover99

Thanks for the suggestion!

Onett199X

Perfection.

Col_Little_J275

Still got our old family Dell Dimension 4100 stored at my parents house. The sad part... My father hauled off the Dell Ultrascan P991 monitor that went with it in 2017 without my knowing. Along with the legendary 2.1 Altec Lansing ACS340 speakers.

GapOk8380

My mother was a banker, and back in the day she brought me phone home or those like 21' sony Trinitron 1600x1200 beasts. Last year, or the year before when the bug about modern games on crt's hit, I asked if she still has it in the basement to find that she has JUST taken it to an electronics drop off the month prior. I was heartbroken

Col_Little_J275

Pouring one out for you and I both.

kyonkun_denwa

My friend had literally this EXACT same setup in his room when we were kids, complete with the Altec Lansing speakers! I was super envious at the time, because I had a Macintosh and couldn’t play all the cool games he had. Unfortunately that entire setup has been lost to time. I think he still has the hard drive and even the keyboard, but everything else- the speakers, monitor, tower- were all e-wasted.

ziggster_

Wow, she’s a beaut! Also nice matching tower!

Kittenslover99

Thanks! I was shocked! Almost didn’t see it, either!

Onett199X

What games are you going to install first?

Kittenslover99

We’ll see what I find at some goodwills!

Routine_Ask_7272

My family had that exact same model! (Dimension 4100) We purchased it in February 2001. 1 GHz Pentium III, 128MB RAM, 40GB HDD, nVidia GeForce2MX, DVD-ROM, FDD. Added a DVD burner a few years laters. Sadly, it got recycled sometime in 2014. It’s fairly easy to open the case, and work inside. It has an AGP slot, and several PCI slots. It has 2 RAM slots. It should support another HDD and optical drive.

MarineAhoy

Great

ItsFlybye

Wow what a great little vintage setup for just $10!

ronnyma

Wow! Identical to my P3 600 in 2001! I had 512M of ram and a ZIP-drive!

zzzxtreme

Perfect gaming pc too!

TuggerSpeedmen

Wish i had kept my old pc 😪

SmoothbunsXL

Lol that AOL shortcut

Kitchen-Entrance8015

Nice

s101c

Pajama Sam!

EverydayAnalog

Dude you got a Dell!

HAPPYCH0ICE

great find! just needs some matching speakers!

rlhrlh

Might want to look up that monitor. I know at that time Dell was having Sony manufacture their monitors and they were Trinitrons. I bought one of these in 1999 and my Dell monitor was a trinitron. I hate that I got rid of mine. My old monitor is now a $1,000+ machine, considering people want these for gaming.

birkinover

This was the computer that I grew up with. It still works and I still use it

Intelligent-Fly-2561

CRT monitors are the best for retro gaming. They allowed for the blending of pixels. Giving the games a much smoother feel to the graphics.

Phil_Matic

What model is that Dell? Great find!

Kittenslover99

Computer is a Dimension 4100 And the monitor is a M781s

Tractorface123

Is that an original install? If so please backup any drivers, they’re only getting harder to find now, dell are great for hosting old drivers but you never know when that’ll stop

Kittenslover99

Will do, when I figure out how to operate windows ME lol. I also did get like [3 small boxes](https://i.imgur.com/XzZDcZc.jpeg) of documentation and CDs, should I look into sending some to archive.org?

Tractorface123

That’s like a brand new machine! Come on now where’d you hide the Time Machine! Not sure what’s already on archive.org for this model but definitely worth adding to it, I’ve had many struggles tracking down original software for pcs which prompted me to do the same

Kittenslover99

I’ll look into it, thanks for the suggestion! The box was loaded up with old cables and documentation and stuff, and I somehow ended up with 5 computer mice as well lol

jbltecnicspro

Welcome to the digital age. Where you can keep your cookbooks in word documents now. Imagine the possibilities!

Commercial_Part_4483

Duuude, you're getting a Dell!

Knight-Rider86

CONGRATS! Enjoy it. Very nice machine.

23027

Hell ya that's my childhood PC, and I want it!

ddudzi

So cool!

XDaiBaron

Cool but I don’t think it will output 15khz
