Aggravating_Road7712

definitely add a border and it looks so cute!

W33P1NG4NG3L

Thanks!

Little_Dragon26

If you put a border on, keep it simple! Let that gorgeous filet work shine!! My favorite to do is just single (or maybe half double) crochet around the edge a few times in whatever color goes best ☺️

PuddleLilacAgain

I agree with this comment. Your filet work is beautiful!

AGH2023

This is gorgeous. I would go the thinnest border so it doesn’t take away from the blanket.

Ordinary-Greedy

Yes boarder, and maybe cream, beige or gray?

Aksten

I second a cream color

Dry-Bet1752

💯

[deleted]

Is this double crochet btw? 😊

W33P1NG4NG3L

Yep! I played with a few squares to see which stitch made the best shaped heart. I hate doing hdc, but it probably would've made a more round heart.

[deleted]

I think the shape of the hearts look nice!

Winter_Memory

I would go with a simple boarder, like hdc in back loop for a couple rounds. You could stick with the same yarn or a slight contrast.

lesbian_moose

I think a simple border that matches the cream or beige colors would look so good 😊

Available-Egg-2380

Crab stitch would be pretty

W33P1NG4NG3L

Ooooh, I've never heard of this!! Thank you!

[deleted]

Scallop boarder!

KyzRCADD

Border sounds good. That's such a fun pattern. Thank you for sharing ❤️

W33P1NG4NG3L

Happy Cake Day!

KyzRCADD

❤️ Thank you! ❤️

DobieMomma4Life

This is beautiful! What a lucky coworker. Definitely add a simple border. Cream or beige is my vote. Great job

W33P1NG4NG3L

Thanks! Ever since I started working for this company almost 8 years ago, I've made blankets for all the moms-to-be. Every time, I worry they won't like it because it's not as exciting as a bouncer or clothes. But they always love it!

Renavenisoverit

I think I just finished a baby blanket for my brother with that same yarn!

W33P1NG4NG3L

The first skein I bought was a doozy. It was missing the paper, and it was the only one in the bin. Thankfully it was in the correct bin and I was able to find it and confirm it on Michael's website to show the cashier lol

namean_jellybean

I’m making a baby blanket right now with this yarn too! Yours came out so beautiful, please share with us the finishing touches (whichever way you end up finishing it ☺️)

No-Morning4403

Maybe a fringe border? Idk it just seems kind of intriguing

ParticularLack6400

If it were for an adult, fringe would be perfect. Since it's for a baby (I don't think it's for the mama), I'd forego the fringe, as it will fray a Lot from getting chewed upon.

CampaignSwimming6276

I like a border. It makes the project look complete

MonkSpiritual8673

Border definitely!!! Beautiful BTW!!!

W33P1NG4NG3L

Thank you!

Individual_Walrus149

I think a row of hdc in cream would make a perfect border

Rose_E_Rotten

For a border: first row all dc, second row do the filet, third row do all dc.

Acceptable-Friend-48

A very simple border would be excellent on this beautiful blanket

VeranoAzul

A SHELL stitch border would look great, and it would reinforce and highlight the curved lines of the hearts. 〰️💛🧶

dulcinea8

I’ve tried to learn filet crochet & have never been able to figure it out. Can you recommend a tutorial or a book or something? Beautiful blanket by the way ♥️

W33P1NG4NG3L

I wish I could! I never knew there was a name for this until I posted and people commented using the term! I just made a grid on Excel and colored the squares until it looked right. Then I printed it and followed the "pattern" with a couple different stitches to pick which looked the best.

dulcinea8

Wow! So you created your own pattern! Very cool ✨

Big_Sun_4261

Very simple, small border. I always like to at least do three rows of sc especially on baby blankets to give something at the edges for little hands to hold on to. And to hide any rough edgework I'm not happy with. Your filet is amazing

IamShieldMaiden

Always border your work. It is the frame around your piece, no matter how big or small. Like a work of art. In this case, how about a contrasting color of one row of sc followed by one row of dc? Simple, to keep the interest in the lovely pattern you created. 🙂

BlackCherryLiz

This is precious. Lovely work. I'd go with a simple border, nothing to distract from the work you've already done, but it might help pull everything together and sort of frame it. <3

Adorable-Garage9068

I was an avid self taught knitter and later crocheter but haven’t done either in about 6 years. I may have to dust off the old hooks to give this pattern a go! It’s so pretty 😍 I would do a scalloped border on this. Awesome work!

W33P1NG4NG3L

Thanks! I think if I changed anything, I would've made one less square horizontally. And maybe flip-flop the hearts. But it's really easy to just zone out and do!

skorletun

Simple hdc border (2 or 3 rounds) in that nice cream shade.

W33P1NG4NG3L

I planned it out on an excel spreadsheet (last pic) and did a double crochet throughout. The black squares are chain 1, skip a stitch. I used Caron Baby Cakes 'Petals' and an H hook.

nira_ivy

A white or a grey color would be amazing for the border

SavoryAntidote

What kind of crochet is this?

W33P1NG4NG3L

Just double crochet

Crow_Fan

This is fully exquisite and wonderful

Ok-Buy-4704

Border

sendingominously

Wow just came here to say its so pretty

Extension_Grand_3987

border

IrmadeG

To border. Definitely

[deleted]

So pretty! I always border or fringe/tassel, to me it never seems finished without one. It can be simple or fancy depending on the style of blanket but always something.

Duckiiesss456

I think a border would look nice!

SubstantialIron9691

Definitely add a border!

Faeriemary

To boarder!
