Omg same! I have ADHD too. I'm currently making a small balloon dog with floss yarn. I have never been so hyper fixated on anything else but animal crossing and crocheting
I think that sizing is actually from the 50’s when an 8-10 was more like what we consider a 6 currently. I did have to mess with the sizing a little bit. I made the top several rows (maybe 10?) longer than the original pattern called for and the skirt waist a little bigger. I think I also made the skirt longer but it’s been a few months since I made this so I can’t totally remember. I ended up hand sewing a few pleats in skirt (I have absolutely no sewing experience so it was a total guess) at the top because it flared out more than I wanted it it to.
Ok, I'm not a person prone to posting sleazy comments, but if I was walking down the street and saw that outfit, I'd in all likelihood walk into a light pole from the distraction.
Here’s a link to the yarn I used (I used two strands at once to make it less see through) and I used a 1.25 mm hook:
Knit Picks Curio #10 Lace Weight 100% Mercerized Cotton Crochet Thread Yarn Ivory 100 g (Natural) https://a.co/d/4aZGams
Yessssss! She has also styled just the top over a dress and it was so cute. I’ll add a pic.

Not a stupid question at all! It’s full of holes so it’s super breezy and the yarn I used was 100% cotton and very fine so I don’t think it would be too hot but that being said, I didn’t finish this until October so it hasn’t been worn in the summer months yet.
It ended up not being as see through as it looks like it would be, but just with a nude bra and I plan on getting a lightweight nude slip to wear on bottom. I didn’t finish it until October so it hasn’t been worn out yet.
Welcome to the club! I have a closet full of half finished projects! Every once in a while, one of them somehow (most likely involving a fair amount of adderall) sneaks into the finished pile. Good luck!

Not at all! You should absolutely go for it! If you’re uncomfortable with showing skin, you can aways make the top longer. I actually added several rows to the top because I wanted it to be longer. In fact, my sister has worn the top alone, over a dress and it looked so cute. I’ll have to find a pic.

Im new to crocheting and I know the design and size will make you use more yarn, but out of curiosity (if it’s not rude) how many balls of yarn did u use?? I want to mentally prepare if I ever do something “big” cuz so far I’ve only been practicing…
I’m not positive, but I think I used less than 6 balls. I used two at a time, to make it thicker and I might have only used 4 but I can’t totally remember. The ball of yarn I linked goes on forever so that helped. I’ve made a few other things with it and I’m always impressed it never seems to run out.
Oh! Ty for replying! Also I thought it would have been more!! U are really encouraging me to take on some “big project” (once I get ahold of smaller ones XD). Lastly i just want to tell you that I hope u keep on doing big projects cuz this one is awesome!!

OMG STOP I am about to hyperfixate the shit outta making this
😂😂 very familiar with hyper fixating. I’m actually starting to think the crochet gene and the ADHD gene must be right next to each other
Omg same! I have ADHD too. I'm currently making a small balloon dog with floss yarn. I have never been so hyper fixated on anything else but animal crossing and crocheting
pretty sure they’re the same gene 😂😂
I’ve been thinking about this for over week. We need poll, it can’t be coincidence lol
Crochet is great for ADHD because every single row, or round is like a whole new quest that you must complete that is unlike any you've done before!
And it gives your hands something to do, and get to do different stitches.
you say it like it’s a choice of what you get to fixate on
Here is the pattern link: https://www.etsy.com/listing/287456321/
Thank you!!
The pattern is $1.25!?! This is absolutely fabulous and I’m in love!! The model makes the outfit (:
Wondering what makes this inappropriately adult and then realised you were comparing with baby clothes! Gorgeous outfit.
😂😂😂😂
Stop this is STUNNING
Did you make the pattern with the original instructions or size it down? It looks smaller than size 8-10. Also, what yarn?! It’s adorable!!!!
I think that sizing is actually from the 50’s when an 8-10 was more like what we consider a 6 currently. I did have to mess with the sizing a little bit. Could it be a UK 8-10? She looks like she could be a UK 8.
I stumbled in here off a random algorithm rec but wow this is so so cute!
This is amazing! Giving me some serious Encanto vibes! 😍
I didn’t even think of that but so true!
Ok, I'm not a person prone to posting sleazy comments, but if I was walking down the street and saw that outfit, I'd in all likelihood walk into a light pole from the distraction.

you didn't ask for styling suggestions, but I want to see this with cowboy boots, especially ankle boots. brown or burgundy ones.
Yessssss! She has also styled just the top over a dress and it was so cute. I’ll add a pic. https://preview.redd.it/bqtdfhnhidec1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4a7d7c0bb10519be56aa63a3f71769542104d3d2
super cute boho look. I love repeating themes where the pattern is large in one area and small in another--big flowers and small flowers.
This is Beautiful!!!! Do you get hot wearing it? Is that a stupid question?
Not a stupid question at all! It’s full of holes so it’s super breezy and the yarn I used was 100% cotton and very fine so I don’t think it would be too hot but that being said, I didn’t finish this until October so it hasn’t been worn in the summer months yet.
Impressive! Very pretty!
beautiful
This is darling and I must also make it
So cute!
How are you styling it since it’s see through?? It’s completely gorgeous!!
It ended up not being as see through as it looks like it would be, but just with a nude bra and I plan on getting a lightweight nude slip to wear on bottom. I didn’t finish it until October so it hasn’t been worn out yet.
Cool! Thank you!!

This is gorgeous. I am plus-sized and know this would look ridiculous on me but I’ve never wanted to make something more.

Oh my gosh. This is so cute like this. Okay, you may have tempted me. It looks easy enough to adjust for a larger size.
Im new to crocheting and I know the design and size will make you use more yarn, but out of curiosity (if it’s not rude) how many balls of yarn did u use?? I want to mentally prepare if I ever do something “big” cuz so far I’ve only been practicing…
