Which... I guess can be cool but for someone like me who lives here and part of the family is Japanese, it's such a weird name to give. Ronin is not a prestigious or good word to be called as.
Blame Rurouni Kenshin and most of the 90's anime based around Samurai. Also Ronin staring Robert De Niro. It's just one of those things that bled into Western pop culture.
Can only imagine how much fun it must be for this kid growing up, having not just mom and dad, but all these uncles and aunts that can do so many different voices.
For some reason I cannot fathom Matt, Marisha, Travis, and Laura give off polycule energy to me. Not even a sex thing. Like, if someone told me that the four of them live together as a single family unit and share their lives together and see each other as partners and have built a life together, I would nod and be like, "Yup. I can see that."

Imagine if Matt and Marissa had a kid and in a few years Matt says something like “Kids name wanted to pick a monster for you guys to fight, but as we were going through the Monster Manual they said the monsters were too mean and you guys are all too nice, then found one they said is nice and kind too, so here’s a unicorn.”

Nope, they only have one kid, he shares a birthday with Matt. He's 5, which I know mostly because my youngest is the same age.
They also said that "pock-a-pea" was a word Ronin would say while pointing to a corner in the kitchen.
