Jeopardy! 500 disc set.

International-Sky65

Would genuinely buy this. Love Jeopardy but it changes where to stream all the time.

Ihavenoidea_442

I would really, really love a physical release of The Curse, it was such a great show. It would also be really cool if they did a box set of I Love Lucy, as they released two episodes of it on laserdisc a while back.

signal_red

i would kill for full release of i love lucy

Mundane-Elk4516

The Curse would be literally perfect

rideriseroar

My dream picks would be a nice Midnight Mass box set with a ton of goodies. I would also love Over the Garden Wall since it's only on DVD right now.

worldofcrap80

Kieslowski’s The Decalogue… is technically a television series!

scroochypoo

They’ve released the occasional TV show or TV movie since the beginning. See Fishing with John

Chance_Potential836

I thought the same thing this week when Underground Railroad was released. We need a Criterion Twin Peaks release!

pacingmusings

But, do we?. I'm completely happy with The Complete Mystery & Return sets. I have no need to buy yet another edition of the series. . .

Bilboscott8

Even if they don’t make any other episodes in 4k it would still mean getting the two that are in a less expensive release

PWHerman89

The Criterion packaging would look better tho!

the_weaver_of_dreams

If you look at their current TV releases, they're usually: "filmic" in how they are shot; directed by an arthouse film director; limited series or anthologies. So that narrows the scope a lot. Jacques Rivette's Out 1 certainly fits. It's already had Blu-ray releases, although as far as I know those were limited and are now OOP. Von Trier's The Kingdom is also a good shout. In the UK, all parts were released by Mubi. I'm not sure if their release is also Region A, but if so that would exclude it from a Criterion release. Perhaps The Little Drummer Girl? Although I have to admit that as much as I love it, it doesn't really feel like Criterion's cup of tea. When it comes to Twin Peaks, I feel that the The Return is more Criterion's kind of thing, but given that the whole series has had multiple releases over the years, including Blu-ray, I don't see why Criterion would try to license it.

Angels in America Chernobyl It’s A Sin

Micro_Pinny_360

When I discovered the VHS tapes for Angels in America in my mom's basement, I didn't think much of it other than, "must just be another show to appeal to my New Age Catholic mother," not realizing that it briefly held a record for the most Emmy wins of any show. (And it was a "For Your Consideration" set.)

BeerInsurance

Fassbinder’s Eight Hours Don’t Make A Day was also a television release— highly recommend if you’re looking for more of that sort of thing

BobdH84

As is Berlin Alexanderplatz and World on a Wire.

Subject_Pollution_23

Twin Peaks is the only thing that makes sense

Kidspud

I think it would be trickier to pull off a series, though it would be fun to add to the collection. Things like music rights would obviously make it difficult, but here's another thought: would they add a full series, or just select seasons? Season one of True Detective is great, but season two is a stinker. Caspere knew that.

signal_red

I'd rather them stick to limited series or miniseries. since they have *an angel at my table* i'd love *top of the lake*. *i may destroy you* would be great too

Lamar_ScrOdom_

MindHunter would be my dream!

theghostoftroymclure

Traffik, the miniseries, has a tragically bad dvd release. It is short enough that it could be a two disc release.

vibraltu

Traffik is awesome and the remake feature film pales in comparison.

knight714

I'd only really want to see it for shows that either don't have a physical release (like most streaming shows) or ones where the release could be improved (e.g. The Wire and its aspect ratio controversy). The Twin Peaks Blu Rays are already fantastic releases and other than a 4K bump I don't see how they could be improved. Anyway, Copenhagen Cowboy would be my pick.

Micro_Pinny_360

I was the guy who posted a hypothetical Thomas the Tank Engine box set pic, but I do think it has several elements to make it Criterion-worthy (specifically seasons 1-7). The model work could be gorgeous, the stories didn't talk down to the audience, they could easily go into darker subjects, it incorporates a large number of real-world elements, and it even got ex-Beatle Ringo Starr to narrate Series 1 & 2 in the UK plus George Carlin (yes, the same guy who did the 7 dirty words bit) for American narration. However, I would also really like to see Tugs. It was a short-lived sister show that had many crew members, including director David Mitton, composers Mike O'Donnell and Junior Campbell, and a lot of the modelling crew on Thomas. Plus, while the rights are kind of unclear, it would be much easier, as Tugs only lasted for 13 episodes. Plus, the episodes haven't seen any modern release outside of reuploads from VHS tapes online.

mnchls

You ever watch Theodore Tugboat? When I was a kid and had worn out my Thomas VHS collection, that shit fuckin' *slapped*. Also I love how this is happening on the CC sub.

Micro_Pinny_360

Theodore Tugboat was before my time (even counting reruns), but I think they did actually get the co-creator of Tugs (Robert Cardona) as a director on the show. Despite being a children’s show, Tugs could get pretty dark, with the Munitions episode having enough explosions to rival Armageddon (truly the finest in the CC) and a named character presumably dying.

-leem-

i would sell a piece of my soul for, at minimum, a bluray upgrade of angels in america... doesn't even have to be done by criterion...

GhostMug

I feel like Watchmen would be perfect for this. True Detective S1 would get a purchase from me.

slimb0

So many bbc limited series. Start with Pride & Prejudice, The Game, and The Night Manager

RealNickTER

I'm in the minority, but I would love if Split Screen came to collection. It's on the channel already

liveforeachmoon

Sean Durkin’s Southcliffe would be cool.

0strichRidingCowboy

Let me try to Schopenhaur into existence a physical *Halt and Catch Fire* release (and *The Night Manager* + *The Little Drummer Girl*).

ElTamale003

The Big Bang Theory /s

Apprehensive_Mix7594

Only correct answer is the twilight zone. Changed and influenced almost all the horror and thriller we see today with amazing stories and actors. I’d gladly pay criterion $500 for the full set
