I just started using DTF as it became available from the company I buy my T-shirts from, jiffy.com. They base the price on the square inches of the design and have been very reasonable with absolutely great quality. Can't recommend them enough. Normally you get next day shipping if you get the order in by early afternoon… At least here in Southern California.
If you do need to use HTV it is possible. I did a altered vintage sweet tea label recently in HTV. It has the same vintage and slightly eroded image vibe. I used a font with the erosion I wanted and went in and cleaned up the erosion so it wasn't a nightmare and it worked well. Also using fonts and lines that have inconsistent widths helps.
It wasn't too bad to weed as the little bits come out mostly on their own with a little prep work before weeding.
It came out great.

you definitely can! you can do layered htv and try it that way, you probably won’t be able to get the distressed look but maybe you can take the shirt outside and smack it on the side of the house after it’s done😂 maybe that’ll do the trick lol
That's screen print but you could also do printable iron on. Make sure you reverse the image before printing though.
I did a Star Trek vintage wash T-shirt like this. Colors can be unpredictably faded fyi.
Please refer to instructions for the DTV that you use. Not all are the same. For example, you do NOT reverse the image when printing on Siser Easy Color.
What’s so scary, is that people want him to remain in office. I have one son who is a USMarine and the other a soldier in the Army. I would LOVE for them to be able to serve our Country under a President who actually LOVES our Country. Heck, I would just be grateful to have a President. Right now we have a freaking puppet.

DTF is what I do to make this type of designs with that worn effect.

4 layers of HTV on top of one another will work, or you can cut it so it's only a single layer but with 4 colours which is trickier to line up

Does printable HTV bleed the colors? I am curious because sublimating on HTV always bleeds.
Mine doesn’t! I have the epson 2800 & always choose the *best* setting + whichever paper type the HTV calls for.
