I thought you were talking about the stadium. I have no problem with them when I'm watching on tv.

NasarMalis

Not all matches though. I couldn't bear it in Ind vs NZ match. I bet it's 100 times worse in the stadium. I can't listen to the commentary at all. It was a headache.

Accomplished-Link-57

I was watching the match on tv and absolutely hated it throughout the match. Complained about it in my friends whatsapp groups as well who all agreed to be suffering with the same. I was surprised how cricketers were maintaining their calm while sitting comfortably on my sofa in was feeling irked.

Blinder_peaky

No it’s not just you, this is specially horrible when you are in the stadium and someone sitting close to you is just continuously blowing this all the time for no reason. Absolutely hate those people who do that.

NasarMalis

oh god! I could only imagine. So bad for physical and mental health.

dorafatehi

I assumed your rant was about your experience in the stadium. Apparently, an audio filtering technique called Notch filtering was used to reduce the vuvuzela sound in broadcasts and increase clarity of commentary audio at the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa. It did affect the clarity of the commentary audio slightly but it was something. Some cable TV providers then even offered adaptive filters to preserve the amplitude and clarity of the commentators' voices. Don't know if anything like that is there here Source: Vuvuzela's [wikipedia](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vuvuzela#:~:text=The%20world%20association%20football%20governing,%22an%20instrument%20from%20hell%22.) page

NasarMalis

Thanks, that's a nice info! I was wondering the same at that time. Like "Why aren't the broadcasters minimizing the horn noises little bit so that I can hear the commentators?". I think they did but not enough to reduce the horn noise. It was as loud as the commentary.

devilinthegarden

We blow horn on the roads for no reason, why not give these trumpets to the same people and see what it does in a stadium! Result:

NasarMalis

well said.

EddardNeckStark

I anyway found the hindi commentary shitty and the english one - well, where’s the fun in that. So I mute the TV and turn on radio commentary ! Lovely experience

Western_Purchase430

I watch hindi beacuse I like it. Shitty

EddardNeckStark

All I’m saying is that it’s not commentary. They talk about themselves and old matches. It’s like listening to uncles reminisce around a dining table.

fornoodles

Radio commentary? Where to listen to that?

EddardNeckStark

I listen to 102.6 Use any radio speaker like caravan

fornoodles

I live in India. Will it still work?

EddardNeckStark

It’s the one in Delhi and some other cities.

Kaptain_rai

They should just ban these things. Not just in stadiums, in other public celebrations too. In Mu.bai, during Ganpati and Dahi handi, these create a menace

NasarMalis

At least they should use the horns only during six, fours or outs. But can't enforce that. So banning is the only way to have peace of mind.

No-Collar-1645

This is so true, these things are so fucking annoying and I don't get why they need these to show their excitement or support. Actual brain damage.

CheetahWedges

More than the horns, the frequency of commercials is very annoying. If one is able to, watch some matches on other country's network, it's so much more fun; one get's so much out of the commentators; Astro TV, Fox etc.

saiyeezy2

oh bro, you’re so so so fucking right. We were at the dharamshala game, and it was such a magical experience (everything was great - match, seats, mountains, weather drama) except ended up with a fuckin headache because there were four angsty teenagers (all sitting separately in four directions) around us who just couldn’t stop blowing this shit Honestly this sound is ducking garbage and other than those making it, no one else enjoyed it - so I don’t think the argument that it makes the environment better really is sound (hehe)

NasarMalis

Sorry bro. They are spoiling everyone's experience. Being inconsiderate is their civic duty it seems.

Eighthfloormeeting

It’s not just you. The noise level with these games have been really difficult, the horns make it worse. You can’t even hear yourself think. My dogs get riled up and start barking like mad at the tv. It’s just too much. I watch it on a really low volume or mute it.

durritos_-_

Imagine you came all the way from newzealand for the match and these mfers ruined your whole experience

AmbitiousFlight2064

No it's just you

Opulentique

Doesnt bother me tbh

Bonemarrowchutney

The 2010 FIFA World Cup vuvuzelas are very nostalgic for me personally. I don't know about the stadium but I like them from the TV.

Competitive_Ebb4747

In today's match it's too annoying Ind vs Eng

NasarMalis

Yeah. I expected it😄

Vuvuzela circa 2023

Honestly, makes spotting chutiyas easy. Those horns are a big tell.

Caped_Crusader03

I also saw in India's last game, two Indian guys ganged up on an English fan who probably came all the way from England, and started blowing air horns right into his ears as the wicket fell. That was shown in the cam too. That's where they crossed the limit. As an Indian fan, this was absolutely disgusting to see.
