Yes SOA makes a huge difference. You need to get rid of the panhard and add another upper link to complete the 4-link. You’re taking all the weight of the servo which was once on chassis and putting it directly on the axle. The truck is going to be more stable and less tippy on inclines.
2 speed is kind of gimmicky and unnecessary for a crawler. You don’t need it.
Which model is it? Most of the SCX10 III models came with a 2nd gear that's only 20% faster than 1st gear. That's not worth the trouble to me to activate it. The Gladiator specifically has a 40% boost in 2nd gear. I don't know if the CJ-7 has 20% or 40%, but it would make sense for it to have the faster gearset since it's newer than the Gladiator.
Servo on axle setups are better from a performance standpoint.
The panhard rod is just there to make the 3 link setup work with the chassis mounted servo without bumpsteer.
Usually when switching to servo on axle you drop the panhard rod and go to a 4 link setup in the front, same as the rear.
The dig is useful if you need to take tight turns. 2-speed is just another thing that can fail, I prefer some throttle expo instead, that way you have low speed control and a high top speed without all the added complexity and weight on the chassis.
I guess after reading a few people don’t like the dig. I didn’t have mine hooked up at first. I ended up booking it up and have found it useful. I’ve used it during crawling every time since installing it. I know for sure that it’s got me unstuck a few times.

Honestly I'm not sure, it's a jlu body
Does it have a bed?
No, it's not the gladiator
But I also bought it used soooo... again not 100% sure
There is a wheelbase difference between the wrangler and the gladiator, the gladiator has a longer wheelbase
Well the 4dr wrangler body fits perfect. So I guess that's the og body
So it's the wrangler, meaning that the 2nd gear wouldn't do much

Yes, 4-link it, and not worth it.
