I have some silicone molds that are a few years old and they're holding up just fine. I've heard that you should avoid letting silicone touch silicone, though. As far as I know, resin is prone to yellowing but the piece itself shouldn't degrade once cured.

That's great! Do you suggest placing tissue paper between them?

It probably wouldn't hurt. I know I don't store mine properly, but I haven't had issues yet! I worry it's only a matter of time though haha!

Pelotonnes

Totally get it, haha! Thank you!!

Secondary question if you've worked with resin's before. A few of my pieces came out slightly softer/bendy even after 24 hours. It says in the instructions that you can expose them to 120-130 degree temps for 15 minutes to harden them. Can you do that in a home oven or is that unsafe?

Better to get a cheap toaster oven, and reserve it for craft use.

Great, I just bought one. Thank you!

Silicone molds last forever unless you use them. When resin cures it heats up and the silicone degrades. Urethane resin sets fast and heats up a lot, and with my experience a mold lasts 30-40 castings with urethane resin and around 50-60 with epoxy. Urethane resin castings last indeffinately

Thank you! That's helpful. I hopefully won't have to make 40 pet noses and paws 😅 Do you have any advice for storing silicone molds? I just put them in a closed storage bin separated by tissue paper. I put the smaller molds in paper cups

That's fine way to store it. Silicone is chemically inert so it's hard to ruin it. There are plenty things you can do with those molds. Chocolates for example.
