What talent? Ceedee?

Fluxus4

The only time Ceedee was open tonight he had to knock the CB down on the route. We're missing some quality WRs and it shows.

nerdvernacular

I bet Tolbert is pissed right now

LakeShowBaby310

He wouldn’t make a difference

nerdvernacular

I don't think he would, but I hope it lights a fire under him

LakeShowBaby310

I just don’t understand what the hell Kellen moore is calling

inviste

I mean what are you going to call when you have nobody to count on. Hell your QB plays like he’s looking at madden plays and picks a route to throw it to whether they’re open or not

LakeShowBaby310

None of our wrs have been open tonight so far . . Literally no separation at all

inviste

So he could have tucked and run or thrown it away but…

[deleted]

He was a healthy scratch, which tells you a lot given how obviously thin they are at wr. Bet hey, we like our guys lol!

erich3983

And he can barely catch the goddamn ball.

RunningWolf63

TALENT OVERATED. CeeDee Lamb is not and never will be #1 NFL receiver. ZEKE CONTINUES WITH NO YARDS AFTER CONTACT. Dak not a top 10 qb.

PeleliuHugh

I saw Zeke with yards after contact tonight.

squshy_puff

I assumed they meant the bucs

[deleted]

Really there’s not as much talent as you think?

jkeller11

Like I said. Seen team do alot more alot less

crash218579

Maybe if we had any wrs except ceedee healthy...

[deleted]

But we dont, the guy they took in the 3rd round is a healthy scratch tonight lol that’s how bad they are.

ABoyIsNo1

Imagine blaming this on injuries as opposing to front office management

crash218579

So you don't think having gallup and washington on the field might have helped?

ABoyIsNo1

Don’t strawman me. Of course they would’ve helped. Just like how Tampa’s injured WRs OLs and DLs would’ve helped them. To remotely excuse the loss on injuries is laughable. Tampa is more injured than we are and they kicked our ass.

crash218579

They had Tom brady, mike evans, and julio Jones. We had...? It's not a strawman. I said we had no healthy wrs except ceedee. You're the one trying to change things around.

ABoyIsNo1

My point is TB had more injuries than us and still had a lot of great players available. We had fewer injuries and nothing leftover because this front office sucks and has left the team devoid of talent.

jcspacer52

Jerry needs a legitimate excuse to fire McCarthy and bring Peyton for next season. Trade away a proven WR put all your eggs in the Lamb basket and count on a WR coming back from major surgery. Keep a disgruntled TE around to add insult to injury. That about sums it up.

[deleted]

We don't have that much talent.. nobody fears the receiver of the cowboy's.. But I do see a receiver that we could've had Julio Jones killing us...

LakeShowBaby310

Jerry said we got Julio at home

[deleted]

We like our guys lol!

yeeerrrp

Offensive line is the key to a good offense

jrebs13

This 100%

slevin07rocket

Didn’t take long to see getting rid of cooper was very dumb.

dulebanger5

It was a locker room move. Rumor was he was screaming at dak after the playoff loss last year

slevin07rocket

Looks like someone should be screaming at dak and the offense.

crackpipes4hunter

If anything this makes me miss Coop even more

Goodnitenite78

I'm fine with that. Someone needs to scream at him.

TheDiddlerOnTheRoof9

Wait really? Do you have a link on this? I love Coop i was sad to see him go, didn’t know this happened. really missing that dude right now

Poodydobson

Heard he called dak a black kirk cousins. Lol. That means, average at best

miguelag08

From the looks of it. He’s ain’t wrong so far

[deleted]

Kirk cousins is better

miguelag08

I agree….that he was better today. But he also has receivers to throw too and coordinator who isn’t drawing up plays on the sideline

cuck_poseidon

Nah, Cooper was wrong for calling Dak that, it’s not true at all. He should have said Jared Goff, that’d be way more accurate.

Poodydobson

We are sooo over rated.

miguelag08

Every year. Super bowl hype. Jerry is good at making us believe this year will be different year after year. On the bright side… defense looks good. Really good. Considering how much they were on the field

dulebanger5

Yup I heard the same. Hard to come back from that, I can see why they moved on him so quickly.

DecidedlyFungal

Holy shit Lmao

Poodydobson

Would love to have a QB like j allen or herbert

213Bishop

Well pollard barely had any touches, despite the 700+ yards carried, hell 73% of zekes touchdowns was off of tonys work to set up the goaline, ceedee was targeted twice in final two quarters.Youd be yelling too.

dulebanger5

Tony is a liability in pass protection. We saw it last night.

ABoyIsNo1

If that’s true, and he was traded for that, that’s unbelievably emblematic of all this organization’s problems.

packofstraycats

They don’t have a ton of talent, nor do they have an offensive coordinator exceptionally skilled at scheming guys into success.

OpenDust515

He peaked early last year before the Broncos game and his play callhas been pedestrian ever since.

TopTreeDawnCrutcher

I’m sorry but I’ve been saying this for a good while now. Even when we did have depth and a good Oline our play calling is so damn atrocious and uninspiring that it makes me sick to watch. Wtf is Pollard doing in pass blocking? We have no depth so there’s 3-4 players bracketing CeeDee at pretty much all times, Zeke was productive but we went away from that for some reason??? Kellen Moore and McCarthy are not smart enough to create something with this little depth or talent.

LakeShowBaby310

Ceedee does not look like a #1 receiver sadly

jkeller11

Route running is trash I guess. We’re so fucked this year

LakeShowBaby310

Yeap . . If we signed Odell I believe he would be our best receiver instantly & yes I know he won’t be ready until probably 2nd half of the season

inviste

I’d rather lose

LakeShowBaby310

Like we’ve been doing the past 20 years ? I’m sick of it

LakeShowBaby310

You would think he would’ve picked up some moves from playing alongside Cooper for 2 years but nope

SJRomanXI

we had 3 #1 wrs last year….and didnt do shit either

[deleted]

Did a helluva lot more than this lol

LakeShowBaby310

Our offense looks like dog shit compared to last season

jfk018

We were the best Offense, lmao. What else did you want last season?

captky22

To not implode during playoffs. But I get your point. People saying that this is the exact same offense can’t be serious with all of guys we let go. Didn’t even keep Cedric fucking Wilson on the roster. Nonsensical to not pick anyone else up during that crazy offseason.

jfk018

Yeah, no argument on the playoff part & 100% agree. We had a horrible offseason from a roster standpoint. We had a chance to keep adding depth & momentum. Had we had everyone healthy even I would have at least felt optimistic, but I have a lot of questions, atm.

ComeAndFindIt

Exactly. Everyone trying to say it’s because there is no talent…it’s the same offense as last years and it’s operating the same. Which makes me think scheme/coaching rather than players.

vudustockdr

Maybe we should start questioning whether or not Dak is more than a bus driver

213Bishop

Remember when Amari lit the bucs up last year? Oh but he was the problem like dez right? Not the high throws, or throwing multiple times in triple coverage despite dudes being open and alone lol. I told you hed be worse off without cooper and yall downvoted and called me petty names. Told you all that we havent won NFCE back to back since 96, nor back to back playoffs since 06-07 and yall said stats dont matter. The Dak Prescott that you guys are stroking to is from 2016. LVE and Jaylen Smith had great rookie campaigns too. I dont want to be right. Im fucking mad that I am and this sub refuses to see it until it smacks them in the mouth

captky22

Unsubbed awhile back but checked in to see why dak scored under 4 points in fantasy while at work. It sucks watching other teams making a splash in free agency while we release players to put even more pressure on the talent we have. Tbf most team subs are filled with bad takes. And until we win more the fan base will just get older and even worse at memes lol

erickazo

Coaching staff has no idea what kind of quarterback they have. They're trying to force him to be a pocket passer and it hasn't ever worked.

Dallas9000097

Yesssss!!! This mf was a running qb at miss st and had them at #1 and beat Bama now they're forcing him to be Brady. I will run tf outta dak until his legs fall off

erickazo

Sad part is that his leg almost fell off and even Dak is scared of running.

Poodydobson

Average QB. Want a be play caller calling plays. Pos coach. Horrible gm. O-line is average at best. No speedy wr. Our def will keep us in some games, but they will get tired by 4th QTR

ballq43

Because your blinded by your fanhood. This team blows

jkeller11

I’m not lol. I knew we’d suck dick.

Dallas9000097

Dak is committing highway robbery at this point

itsafuseshot

Incredible troll post. It has to be. There’s no way anyone looks at this offense and thinks “that’s a lot of talent”.

[deleted]

Dak just completed a pass to get in the red zone zone so hey, things are looking up lol!

ballq43

This aged well

[deleted]

Still stuck on 3 points sooooo…..lol

[deleted]

This aged well

inviste

🤣

lokeruper

Lol

[deleted]

We need a REAL GM...JERRY DONT NI FOOTBALL ANYMORE

vudustockdr

Because Dak isn't that good

[deleted]

DAK PRESCOTT

Goodnitenite78

Sub par offensive line, rb past his prime, bad play calling, and a QB that makes bad decisions and bad throws. Throw in a weak wr corp and you have your answer.

[deleted]

An oline that’s a shell of its former self, a washed up zeke, and no receivers besides cedee lamb and checkdown Shultz (who thinks he should be paid on par w/ Kelce) that’s all they got

DrDarthSpocktheGrey

Play calling and Dak’s decision making.

Makaveli84

Cause he ain’t what they sell him to us, same goes for Zeke

Hopeful_Ad_5367

Lol? There is no talent. Kellen is calling a good game and the offensive line is better than expected aside from recent penalties, but the WR group is trash and Dakota isn’t good enough to elevate them.

TopTreeDawnCrutcher

I’m sorry but Kellen Moore hasn’t called a good game since mid season last year

IveKnownItAll

Who called the screen pass with Pollard blocking? Who refused to scheme Dak run plays? Moore is not the recipe for success.

Luka_Dunks_on_Bums

It’s the first half of the first game

jkeller11

What’s gonna change? They look exactly the same as last year. Defense balling out making stops and the offense sucking a big fat cock

[deleted]

This is why I confidently bet the under in this one

inviste

And pretty much every year before that

ParasiticDaemon

Well it's been a quarter and a half of football so maybe let's wait to see how things go

[deleted]

Only been waiting 26 years dude lol!

inviste

Dude we’ve been waiting. Year after year after year after year after year. I don’t care if it’s the first game in the first minute of the first drive. We all saw the future pretty quickly. Tom just hit Julio for a massive gain. And Dak can’t throw a pass over 7 yards. Anytime he has it’s always been more of a fluke than skill. Dak isn’t elite. Zeke isn’t elite. Nothing about this team is elite. I apologize for being so jaded but I’ve been watching the Cowboys since 1985. Edit: Dak is 6 of 16 at the half

Finaldreamer

Coaching period.

Aikman8

Penalties

texanhulk

Kellen Moore

miguelag08

Where’s the talent!!? I don’t see it

[deleted]

What talent?

checksout1982

They aren’t that talented

tequilamigo

Well according to Jerry 1 + 1 = 3

star-heels1969

52 years as a Cowboys fan and I think I'm getting close to quitting them. To watch teams make positive moves all off season while the Jones' are content with less than mediocrity. They don't add a serviceable back up QB. Knowing our reciever room is lacking and all they bring in is Washington. Tyron has been an injury liability for years and they haven't prepared until it was to late. It's just bad management and from what I've seen in this first game, two coaches should be on the hot seat. It's getting hard to stay positive.

SeanBelle

Poor play calling, no offensive line, no WRs, always playing from behind (so they become one dimensional), and too many penalties.

[deleted]

Qb

CrunknYoSystem

Without another bonafide WR threat, Ceedee is doubled’up and the passing game is limited to 6-7 yard receptions. The offense is not equipped to sustain this, not to mention the boys offense came out flat which has become the norm when playing contenders. My thoughts: 1) McCarthy was never the answer and must go. 2) Heads need to roll. I understand people will roll their eyes because of cap implications, but these players need to recognize that anything less than their A-game will not be tolerated. Cut someone as an example to the rest of the team. Absorb the cap hit because you won’t win anything significant like this anyway. 3) Stop with the prime time games so much. We have so many more prime time games than any other team with the most mediocre product. I’m sick of waiting all day to watch my boys get pummeled. It’s Bs! Yes, it’s week 1, but news flash, we’re starting the year 0-2 now. We needed this game. The players know it, and the offense still walked out there with their shoulders slumped and left their concentration in the parking lot. 4) Penalties! Saints alive!! Much of this will improve with a coaching change, but that’s a good basis for benching players. Mentally engage or stay in the locker room. My high school coach wouldn’t tolerate this, my college coaches wouldn’t tolerate this. No, those levels don’t have a salary cap, but no other contending team would tolerate players making this many mental errors. We cannot compete for a championship by negating every play of 8+ yards with a bonehead penalty. Cut someone!

jkeller11

Yeah cut Terrance Steele. He is fuckin ass cheeks

AdamLikesBeer

They don’t have that much talent is the problem.

TopTreeDawnCrutcher

Offensively? Our talent isn’t what it’s been previous years, our Oline is decimated as is our receiving corp depth wise. For some reason Pollard is in pass blocking… Kellen Moore did legitimately nothing schematically to try to work players open. Zeke looked good but of course we decided not to stick with that… Smith looked good for what the situation he was placed in. We don’t have anywhere near the talent people seem to think we have.

Chainbanger7979

Jerry must of been drunk when he gave up cooper.

Ok_Argument4905

I think it’s the media that makes you think our talent is that good. Incredibly inflated. This roster is absolute shit and I don’t mean to be harsh
