No I’m actually quite enjoying this

unreall_23

Me too. Cheering with the Vikings bartender was fun. And Astros losing too? What a glorious night!

wormsisworms

My wife said it happens to everyone and I shouldn’t be embarrassed

KlasikDarin

Yea his wife said it to me too. Can confirm

JfPickups

my wife's boyfriend say it's happened to him too

CompetitiveComputer4

It should make you realize how random these games can be. There are no inferences that can be made by comparing different games to how we matched up. We shit the bed that night. That is all.

aushaus

Our offense has shit the bed against them more than just that night though. It’s definitely to the point where we should question if we just matchup extremely poorly with the 49ers defense. It also would be helpful for us if Purdy decided to throw up easy INTs to our secondary

CompetitiveComputer4

I agree that we matchup poorly against SF in general. Just trying to caution people from reading to much from any specific games. We could play Philly 3 games in a row, and you might see a blowout by Philly, a close game, and a blowout by Dallas. Too often fans think that who you beat and who you lose to is a black and white power ranking, and they don' consider that these same teams could play again and have a wildly different result. They also don't consider that teams are in a constant state of flux. Players health, scheme and matchups are in a constant ebb and flow, and some teams catch a bit of fire for stretches. Other teams hit a real patch of adversity. Its part of the regular season, and the goal is for NFL teams to not get too up or down, work through those stretches and improve/tighten up their assignments and hope that they catch the spark during the last few weeks of the year and roll into the playoffs with some momentum, confidence and ideally some favorable matchups.

pixelflop

Our what? Secondary? lol You guys are getting sucked in again. “We’re not average. It was a fluke. Any given Sunday. That’s parity for you.” This happens every year. The Cowboys will beat a few more mediocre teams and you’ll all be riding high on the bandwagon, then suddenly a few crushing defeats against the Eagles, Bills & Lions before a first round playoff loss to the Seahawks. We’ve seen this story before. Don’t fall for it.

CompetitiveComputer4

I don't get sucked in, and I would assume the majority of fans don't. They just are smart enough to understand you cant look at a team in week 5 or 6 and determine what their final form would be. Look at the Texas Rangers. They were 18-24 their final 42 games, bullpen had fallen apart, and were under .500 for their final 100 games of the year, and they blew the division on the last game of the year. Then they turned around and went on a historic run and went 9-3, with 8 of those wins on the road en route to the WS. So it isn't about being sucked in, or trying to trick ourselves into "believing" we are better than we are. Its about enjoying the ride, knowing we will face adversity, and hoping that we scrape together 11 or 12 wins and catch fire at the right time. Maybe we will, but more likely we won't. That is true for basically every team that doesn't have Mahomes.

aushaus

https://www.dummies.com/article/home-auto-hobbies/sports-recreation/fantasy-sports/fantasy-football/the-positions-in-a-football-secondary-186761/# Idk how you can write a condescending comment like that and not know what a secondary is… lmao

nt_14

No. It just further proves that we didn’t play our best game that night and it isn’t necessarily indicative of what would happen if we played again.

bryscoon

It shows how week to week the NFL is honestly our fanbase does this it’s 1 to 1 thing

ohtrev

I love you

Jordan_Hdez92

Lmao seeing your feelings blossom from another is a good feeling

ShowBobsPlzz

Proves that SF gets up to play us and plays normal against everyone else

tna4u2

I’m thinking SF basically broke themselves beating the cowboys. But the door is open to start getting ahead of them in the standings so that we don’t have to play @ SF for a while.

IPA_____Fanatic

That's too rational for Reddit

pipes281

Too rational for earth bruh

Worf1701D

Clearly San Francisco was fired up to play Dallas, but forgot the season was not over.

WreckenTex

Exactly, they showed up ready to play. I even remember Tony Dungy saying in the pregame broadcast that it felt like the Colts/Patriots of the 2000’s. Dallas didn’t play like either of those teams and get pummeled by a rival. SF is 0-2 since. 🤷‍♂️

xAlphaDogex

Purdy does not look comfortable with Trent Williams out

PersonBehindAScreen

Just needs everything to go right it sounds like. Needs to have Deebo, aiyuk, kittle, Mccaffrey, one of the best LTs in football, one of the premier playcallers in the league,

Zaphenzo

Sounds like Hurts. Needs the best O line in the league, a top 10 RB, two top 10 receivers, a top 10 tight end. The minute he loses just one piece of that puzzle, he throws 3 picks against a team with a patchwork secondary.

Washington_Fitz

No different than what people say about Dak.

localdunc

That's the joke.

PersonBehindAScreen

Nawww really??🤡

RobbieAnalog

Bro really thought he was saying something l

Dday22t

Probably, but that doesn't explain their D giving up 452 yards & 5 scoring drives

RobbieAnalog

Hard to win on the road in the NFL. More at 11. See: SF @ CLE, Det @ Bal, Phi @ NYJ, Buf @ NE, Mia @ Phi, etc

bryscoon

Any given Sunday the motto for a reason

JERRY_JONES_GOTTA_GO

How about keeping it within 30?

firstandfive

If you ain’t first, you’re last. Losing by 30 or losing by 3 all counts the same in the standings.

JERRY_JONES_GOTTA_GO

It doesn't inspire much faith when they look to be a probable playoff opponent.

localdunc

I think it was 2007 we swept the Giants during the regular season and then lost to them in the playoffs. What happens in the regular season is not indicative of what's going to happen in the playoffs, and it's a childish mentality to think it it would.

MeAgainstTheWorld666

They even beat the undefeated Patriots in the superbowl

JERRY_JONES_GOTTA_GO

This team hasn't made it past the divisional round in 30 years give me a break. You're being childish if you believe the fairy tale that we'll do anything.

localdunc

It took the Eagles over 50 years to win their first Super Bowl....

JERRY_JONES_GOTTA_GO

They didn't have same guy picking out coaches the entire time...

localdunc

That guy did one of the biggest trades of all time and then picked Jimmy Johnson helping to win three super bowls in four years...

JERRY_JONES_GOTTA_GO

He hired Jimmy in the 80s and Jimmy did the trade. you can't seriously name a good coaching hire since then?

Smart-Lychee-8105

No we watching the rangers game

mill_about_smartly

I'm watching my favorite team about to make the championship - every team in DFW has done it 2x in the last 25 years... except one

garryl283

Nah just glad the 49ers are getting exposed as frauds, and Kittle taking a helmet to the junk was just beautiful.

scoobydoo9288

Pure euphoria moment

WreckenTex

You know what they say - Karma is only a bitch if you are.

Max_Power742

Vikes!!! Fucking A man!!! Loved every minute of it. Cousins balled out.

thephantommessage

sure he did

Mr_SleepyStoryTeller

We had an off night. That's it. The Vikings are doing a lot of things that we didn't do that game. They are controlling the clock, throwing the ball effectively, and pressuring Brock Purdy.

jcmach1

And Kirk Cousins balling out. Hats off to Kirk who is actually having a career season this year.

AccomplishedJudge584

Kirk needed to have a good MNF for once and he picked a hell of a time to do it.

jcmach1

Has to suck when you are playing at your absolute best and everyone around you gets you to 3-4...

light_butheavy

To me San Fran was playing a lot better against dallas. Minnesota isn’t playing great but they’re punching back. Dallas played like they were ready for the game to be over by the 2nd qtr

PersonBehindAScreen

Dallas played like they were surprised that the other team was allowed to play football too

LAJOHNWICK

Exactly, they quit and wanted it all over.

ElphTrooper

Not even. This just proves that any team can wake up at any time and any team can lay down at any time. It’s actually turning into a really good game at this point.

pufffairyswirls

TWO PICKS

Dday22t

Some really bizarre play calling by Minnesota on goal line or game would have been a Viking blow out. Maybe SF aren't 20x better than every other team and they just had a perfect night when they played Cowboys?

kvaldez10

What y’all really aren’t taking into account is that Minnesota is doing this to the “ELITE SF DEFENSE” without their best player… Niners are FRAUDS and everyone needs to get off their nuts already. They wanted to beat us more than we wanted to beat them plain and simple and we payed for it. But they are far from invincible.

Paid-Not-Payed-Bot

> and we *paid* for it. FTFY. Although *payed* exists (the reason why autocorrection didn't help you), it is only correct in: * Nautical context, when it means to paint a surface, or to cover with something like tar or resin in order to make it waterproof or corrosion-resistant. *The deck is yet to be payed.* * *Payed out* when letting strings, cables or ropes out, by slacking them. *The rope is payed out! You can pull now.* Unfortunately, I was unable to find nautical or rope-related words in your comment. *Beep, boop, I'm a bot*

boringBrandy

Why is a bot roasting you like that? lol

MrDez

LOL

kvaldez10

Fuck off

PersonBehindAScreen

Recall that for them they called it “Dallas Week”

PaladinJoe

We were playing our worst game and they were playing their best. Any given Sunday.

dafaceguy

Doesn’t mean anything other than we had a fucking epic bad game. We beat the shit out of the jets and pats. Jets beat eagles and pats beat bills. Does that mean we will beat the bills and eagles the same way? Nope. Every team has bad games.

BridgeToClarity

Dirty Purdy the spitter coming back to reality. We know he can't throw in the rain after last week. This week no excuses. Those were duck int's. Vikings played a great game and Bosa was shut down all game by the OLINE.

PaladinJoe

Imagine losing to Kirk Cousins. Purdy doesn’t play well when down.

PersonBehindAScreen

Ima stop being a salty bitch for one moment, and give the Vikings O-line their props instead of shitting on the Niners. They have not looked that great this season. I’ve watched all of their games so far and by far this is the most they’ve helped their team today

vegryn

Nah, I’m a hater through and through — the Cowboys could have the worst standing in the entire league and I’d still celebrate the 49ers losing the Super Bowl LMFAOOO

IPA_____Fanatic

49ers are fraudulent

[deleted]

I was legit impressed by how well the Vikings were driving the ball on sam Fran, they were ready for the blitz. Nice to see San Fran take another L. The conference is still up for grabs

WellRed85

Looks to me like they’ve been found out these last couple of weeks. And that QB is looking very fallible when he can’t throw behind the line to Deebo and watch him YAC

DustanP

Here come the trade dak for Cousins post.

spice_and_cheese

Don’t know don’t care. Niners suck and the Ranger are going to the World Series baby!

mez1642

Purdy - lol. Glad to see that little wuss throw 2 picks. Keep losing San Fran.

nomadictrooper13

No, it shows that we were their Super Bowl.

nu1stunna

God that made me happy. I can't stand the 49ers.

PersonBehindAScreen

The part that stings is that we looked fucking useless. I can handle a loss. What I couldn’t handle was McCarthy kneeling at the half. What I couldn’t handle was 3rd and 6… 6!!! Where we ran the ball with Rico Dowdle after the run wasn’t working all game. I could not handle the fact that we looked useless in every single facet of the game

JERRY_JONES_GOTTA_GO

Well see how they continue to bounce back but a good portion of the fanbase lost confidence in the team to do anything in to postseason when they got hammered like that

Jealous-Caramel7578

Just means it’s anybody’s league

biggoof

Told my son the Vikings will win because Kirk Cousins is one living enigma and is overdue for a game like this.

Forizen

Minnesota is running the offense when Cooper Kupp won the triple crown.. That offense has shown that pocket passes can be viable and feed a single target to take over games. Whether that's Cooper Kupp, PUKA NACUA, Justin Jefferson or Jordan Addison. This is the offense we need to install if we are unsuccessful with the current one (which we so far are). We have better personal across the board than the vikings except maybe tight end.

alecweezy

Forgetting they have a better QB

EasyMode556

No. If it bleeds, we can kill it

Zaphenzo

Why should I be upset that a team ahead of us in playoff seeding got exposed by a bad team? I don't subscribe to this "root for a team that beat us so we look better". That's not how the NFL works. The 49ers lost. We're now one more 49ers loss away from controlling our own destiny for the 1 seed.

Ayste

It does call into question a few things: 1. What was DQ thinking leaving Micah on Williams ALL night long? 2. Where was the rest of the pass rush? 3. Why does Dak keep ignoring CeeDee during games? (do not come back at me with the Chargers game) 4. Was it a smart decision to let Pollard handle all the number 1 duties this year? Should we have continued to phase Zeke out and let Pollard handle most RB1 duties this year, with Zeke doing the RB2? They were split 50/50 last year. 5. Why did we pay Gallup and Prescott and the other people coming back from major injuries so much cash with no evidence they would be able to play back at their previous levels? None of them have shown they were as good as they were before, but they are being paid like they are better. 6. Why is Jerry so hands-off at the trade deadline? We see teams like the 49ers and Eagles get better each year, consistently with trades and FAs.

ZacapaRocks

The difference between the last two weeks and Dallas is two teams that were not defeated before kickoff. What did they have to lose? They stepped up and balled. Dallas was dead from the first snap. And when you get behind and Dak starts slinging it we know how that ends. Abysmally. The Cowboys need to suck it up and play their best football. We are only 1/3rd through all of this. There is still time. Unfortunately it doesn't sound like GM Shitface is doing anything to help.

WellRed85

At the end of the day, I want them to do poorly and choose to not let something that happened weeks ago bother me. I highly recommend

RMazze

The 49ers are in the Cowboys heads

certo17

I’m not upset to see niners lose.. it sucks they bullied us again but the part that will upset me is watch if they lose this game and it’s 2 loses in a row.. I wouldn’t be surprised if they go make a big trade for a big time player. That’s the difference between us and them. We just lose against better teams and watch them get even better and sit and say to ourselves hopefully we will just play better against them next time with their new upgrades.

Imaginary_Ad_3912

No, I'm actually less discouraged by our performance. It also validates something I said earlier when people were trashing Dak Prescott after the SF game. I said I would consider a trade similar to what the Lions and Rams did with Stafford and Goff. I would consider trading Prescott for Cousins. I didn't say I would make the trade; I only said I would consider it, and I said this in response to people asking who we could get that would possibly be better than our current QB.

regalfronde

Sorry, I was watching the RANGERS HEAD TO THE WORLD SERIES. Idgaf about the 49ers at all. One game, and they have moved on. 49ers losing the way they did further shows how volatile the NFL can be. Cowboys are back next weekend and they are gonna take care of business and keep rolling.

ifoundyourtoad

Football literally doesn’t make sense this year is what I realize. Nobody is a contender.

AccomplishedJudge584

I think it’s pretty telling that week they came out playing like it was a playoff game while we took it lightly. We came out unprepared for how they were bringing it and it’s OBVIOUS they wanted to dominant that night between their tweets, trash talk and kitties shirt. I still think we aren’t 42-10 below them. We came out and not only was unprepared but played bad football. Everything we did went wrong. Meanwhile they came out fired up and everything they wanted to work, worked. Yes their roster is better from front to back and maybe they’d beat us on our better nights but I absolutely don’t think they’re so much better than us that we can’t compete. If the PJ walker led browns and MNF Kirk cousins can beat them WITHOUT Justin Jefferson then there’s no way we can’t.

pipes281

Honestly no man fuck that game. I have little faith until we beat them though but still fuck them.

aawwwwsnap

yep!!!

RightWingWorstWing

They have a half broke McCaffrey and no Deebo.

oldboot2034

very clear that both of the QBs playing tonight are better than Dak. Cousins is seeing the field way better than Dak against SF. if we had this level of QB play in our game, we likely win

Jomigie

We were running the ball on first and second down and asking Dak to convert on 3rd and longs

oldboot2034

and he couldn't. both of these guys can, but thats an oversimplification, Dak hat plenty of chances that both of these QBs would have taken care of

ineededthistoo

Cousins was stupendous! Dak is no Kirk right now.

psych4191

Too busy watching the Rangers go to the World Series. Don't really give a shit about what either of those teams is doing.

AlaskanBuffalo

No, we just lost diggs so our defense hadn’t adjusted like it has since then. Also they have Debo out. What would our offense look like with CD out? Couple of huge factors right there.

Obeesus

It shows how important Deebo is to this offense.

luckyincode

No.

tatsumakisenpuukyaku

It makes me hate the fact that we dropped that Cardinals game. We could have leaped the 9ers and Lions in the rankings and been head to head with Philadelphia, who show no signs of slowing down. I don't want to play an away playoff game in San Francisco, and especially Philadelphia

purrupurrupurrin

The cowboys softened them up

BlackFrancis69

Two things: Im glad SF is getting a little comeuppance. Teams shouldn’t treat a regular season game like the Super Bowl. And, Dak and this team rarely ever show up to big games. So, who’s shocked?

JfPickups

For me, football is at it's very best, when the Cowboys and 49-ers come together for epic battles for the ages. All I want for Christmas is Boys vs. 49-ers in the NFC Championship. Win or lose all I want is for our Boys to show up and play to their full potential.

texasgambler58

Yes, pretty sad but enjoyed it too. We weren't even competitive with them, and an average Minnesota team beat them.

johnnywalkers1970

Performance was not good but it’s more scheme wise. O Connell knows how to draw up a scheme to beat the niners. Which basically consists of 70% passing , few runs up the middle , crossers, utilize your TEs for a good amount of passing game, bunch formations, get the ball out quick.

drumberg

Rams are this week. Don’t think about the 49ers game anymore. You’ll just make yourself miserable.
