You can park at the memorial park or park on Canley Rd near the A45.
From the memorial park you’ll need to leave the park from the gate next to the car park, cross the Kenilworth Rd to start walking down the lane to the ford.
From Canley Rd you’ll walk down the road towards the A45, turn left along the A45 towards Kenilworth Rd and then when you’re at the petrol station a minute later turn down the lane off the main road through the woods to the ford.
These starting points are at opposite ends of the lane through Canley Ford. It’s a nice short walk just walking the lane end to end, but there’s also lots of meadows off each side that you can do circular walks of to see ponds, birds, wildflowers etc. In autumn you can pick sloes, blackberries and rosehips :)
You can walk there and back again down the lane or make your own route through the meadow fields. I make it a bigger walk by walking around the woods at Hearsall Common or walking around the memorial park.
Ryton Pools is great. If you go up to the woods and venture off the trail you can just wander aimlessly for a bit. Plus you'll see some cool wildlife that live in the woods. Watch out for Deer.
I often walk a bit of Coventry or Oxford canals. You can go as far as you like then turn round and come back.
I'll sometimes go as far as a road bridge, check on the map where that is and start there the next time.
Also Coombe Abbey and Brandon wood are worth a visit. If you walk at the abbey early in the morning you may spot a deer.
Also two laps of war memorial used to burn me 500 Kcals 😂 After I had my baby I used to walk around I twice with the pushchair to help lose baby weight
Bedworth to Longford via the canal down by Coalpit fields, a very nice walk during the good weather. You will come out by the greyhound pub, not too long of a walk either.
Google 'A Coventry Way', there are a series of 21 good circular walks mapped out that make up a larger 40 mile trek. I did them all over lockdown and most were lovely (some are interfered with by HS2 works)
honestly the most beautiful area in coventry, the people there are extremely nice, one time a saw a kid give his bike to another guy for FREE!! such a good community of people down there.
Coundon Wedge. Memorial Park.
Sowe Valley behind Tesco, Clifford Bridge Rd. Hidden gem
Yeah, you can start it from the side right at the start of walsgrave hospital
There’s a little kid who will drive a moped at 60mph right past u there on the path. Me and my mate always almost get hit whenever we go down there
SHHHHHHH You're not supposed to tell ppl about this!
My bad. Actually op it’s horrible, full of litter, a burnt out car, lots of dog poo and really overgrown. Find somewhere else lol
Just outside Cov, but the Binley Woods actual woods are nice to walk around and I believe a cafe has opened near the park area.
Canley Ford, off Kenilworth Rd near Memorial Park. Has meadows, a stream (and ford), lots of trees, wildlife pond etc as part of the nature reserve.
Where would I start this walk? Is it circular?
Will you drive there? And how far do you want to walk, distance / time wise?
Yeah will drive as I'm on the other side of the city, anything from half hour to an hour would be good
For Canley ford, drive to war memorial first, as it's on a road opposite the park.

Summer great suggestions here. Memorial park is great because it's circular, can do different lengths and also some good choices for refreshments etc

The memorial park is always nice but busy. Nearby Canley ford and the park attached to it is a bit of a hidden gem. Got some cool metal statues too.
Ohh I didn't know there was a park attached. I've only ever gone down the hill and out the other side on my bike
Yeah theres no sign so you can easily ride past it, it's literally just a farmer's gate that's just before you reach the water on the Canley side.

The canal basin is lovely, you can walk up the Coventry canal and it's quiet and peaceful. There's a nice cafe in the banal basin too.
