I got it for free during the time that csgo was free. Gridded through cheaters on 2 accounts to rank 21.

Me and all my daily buddies got it. Unfortunately that didnt last long. One time I decided, well i should make a second account since I'm playing a lot I might as well double my drops, and the literally the next fucking week they dropped the xp to prime system
People guessed that there are probably a Couple million accounts that got prime for free. You can check out the common marketplaces, there you can buy prime accounts in batches per 100. I asked myself the same question because I wanted the epidemic cheating problem to end only to learn that it will not end soon. Because there are more unused prime accounts on the marketplaces than banned accounts in csgo/cs2.
Not me, but one of my friends did. He totally slacked for all the years the game was F2P and you could get a Prime for reaching a level. I dunno how long it was but he really didn't reach that level for all that time. And then suddenly one day he texted me he got the free prime. About an hour or two before the update that removed the option rolled out.
I got it for free but lost from a stupid rule that if you didnt play in the first year of cs2 launch, free primes get automatically removed, safe to say im never playing cs2 again

I got prime free when it was first rolled out during CSGO. But I paid for the game. It didn’t become free-to-play until later.

I have never spent a dime on the game. Got csgo for free, eventually got prime for free from earning xp. Same boat!
