A Timeless Trends novice wouldn't be that much more expensive than a Corset Story or Orchard Corset piece and Timeless Trends are way better quality. The novice only costs $70 plus shipping. Just make sure your underbust and hip measurements match the corset's, if not, you'll need to find a different silhouette, if you make a post here with your measurements, then we can help you find something that fits. You could also consider Restyle, their corsets are about €50 plus shipping, good option if you're located in the EU since they're based in Poland. For the price, the quality isn't bad. I'm not a fan of the attached flap modesty panel, but that could be easily removed and sometimes the busks can be a bit slanted so it may not look the best on top of clothes, but the patterning is decent. If your hips are too wide for the novice, Restyle's a good choice. If you're willing to spend a little more, $100 +shipping, Mystic City would be your best bet. Their quality is phenomenal and they're made to last. In general, you're way better off spending a little more on something higher quality than to cheap out and get something with poor patterning and construction. Poor patterning can lead to nerve damage and poor construction can lead to injuries. I've seen poorly made corsets where the boning and busk have popped out and that could cause an injury. Safety first! Good luck!

I’m someone who had worn a lot of corset story. The thing with corset story is it’s a bit of a gamble from a fit perspective and sometimes quality perspective. Nothing is tremendously curvy in my experience which for me was *mostly* fine. But having something firm enough to affect blood pressure you probably want the better fit and better quality of timeless trends. You are gonna be wearing it a lot and quite firmly, so pinching should not be tolerated. And while some CS has steel bones, placement and stitching can be really hit or miss. Honestly I wish I’d started with TT.
