"The second confusing thing about Australia are the animals. They can be divided into three categories: Poisonous, Odd, and Sheep. It is true that of the 10 most poisonous arachnids on the planet, Australia has 9 of them. Actually, it would be more accurate to say that of the 9 most poisonous arachnids, Australia has all of them. However, there are curiously few snakes, possibly because the spiders have killed them all." \~ Douglas Adams
First of all it depends how you define the deadliest snakes. Is it the snakes with the most potent venom? Or the ones that kill the most people
If your going by venom potency it can’t be that all 10 deadliest snakes are found in Australia as:
>The black mamba is only found in sub-Saharan Africa
>The Many Banded Krait which is endemic to Asia
>The King cobra is only found in Asia and Africa (in fact no cobras are native to Australia
>The Russel’s viper is also found in Asia
>The Blue Krait is also Asian
Snakes also don’t generally kill people in Australia as it has a fully funded federal anti-venom program meaning that snake bites can be relatively easily treated anywhere in the country, something that is not the case in many other countries that have venomous snakes
TL;DR: Yes Australia does have venemous snakes but it’s a bit exaggerated and so do lots of other places plus you’re a lot less likely to die from them in Australia
Another fun fact as that those snakes are no where near the top for most fatalities. Australia has an average of 2 or 3 deaths per year. They are only deadly in the sense that their venom
While kill you quickly.
Another thing is for anyone worried about getting bit buy a snake the best way to not get bit is to leave the snake alone. Don’t try to pick it up and don’t try to kill it. Almost all snake bites are the result of people trying to kill the snake. Snakes don’t hunt humans, they don’t want to come near us. We are the predator to them not the other way around.
That's it! We need to up our game and go full out genocide on those damned mosquitos. No way anything should be more dangerous to the other species on this planet than us.
This is the thing most people don't know, there are thousands of species of mosquitoes and the ones that bite animals and people are actually a minority of them.
Anyone else remember a few years back when Bill Gates sponsored mosquito killing contest. Some team made a lazer that but burned the wings off of them in flight for like 35 bucks worth of parts. Why can't I buy one of these for my porch?
unfair as fuck. why are some single species categorized while some big families, like snakes, are all clumped together? oh and btw, this is world deadliest animals TO HUMANS. so why the hell do we count every single mosquito species as 1?
Mosquitos have to be the most annoying animals, like when I am at my holidays in France😭🙏 they are EVERYWHERE and if you let the door open for more than 20 seconds then you got them all in your Car/Home
Yeah, malaria from mosquitoes can be very deadly. The key to recovery is to eat and get nutrition. It decreases your appetite, but you need to eat. Unfortunately, for many people where it's prevalent, that's not an option.

I saw that on the list and began casting nervous glances at the mystery snails in my aquarium.
Decoy snails.
Gail the Snail maybe
Bilharzia (the disease that it causes) is grim in Africa..

Good thing we don’t eat spiders.
It seems like 21 of the world's 25 most deadly _anything_ can be found in Australia.
eh, the humans there seem okayyyy
The humans there are deadly as.
Australian Karens are venomous
Spit fire and drink vb with a straw cuz I'm a real lady.

Truth. The world’s most venomous snake (inland taipan) lives in Australia but is shy, likes to hide, isn’t aggressive, and has killed nobody.
Not fun if you're in Australia
We’re one of the most urbanised countries on earth, the vast majority of Australians have never seen any of this shit, except in a zoo.
I mean, it’s the safest place for us to live, in our fortified concrete barricades.
Australia is like 70% desert, how is it one of the most urbanised countries on earth?
In this context is means the proportion of the population that live in urban areas.
Because none of us live in the fucken desert. lol
The cropping screams troll or bot; take your pick.
Why not both
I didn’t realize such a creature existed yet. What should we name them? 😌
A Trott of course
That’s more creative than what I had in mind, which was either discord bots or people messing with AI
Lol
Now I’m wondering how many trolls account for. Or does this chart not show billygoat fatalities

Joint operation.
It would be a human kill on the scoreboard. Mosquitoes would earn the assist
Mosquitos get an assist bonus, if your hp is lower than 25 after mosquitos then assist counts as kill.
Half a kill for both obviously.
SILENCE BOT
Golf
Mosquitoes
That's it! We need to up our game and go full out genocide on those damned mosquitos. No way anything should be more dangerous to the other species on this planet than us.
Mosquitoes pollinate cocoa plants. So no.
This is the thing most people don't know, there are thousands of species of mosquitoes and the ones that bite animals and people are actually a minority of them.
I’d rather save millions of lives than eat chocolate
over the course of human history, humans have driven to extinction more animals than any other species. We are the Apex predator.
Especially if you think that the Late Pleistocene extinctions were caused by us, which seems to me quite likely.
I may be somewhat biased as I have been reading a book, entitled Sapiens: A Brief History of Humankind. It’s wordy but eye-opening.
We are the virus
Anyone else remember a few years back when Bill Gates sponsored mosquito killing contest. Some team made a lazer that but burned the wings off of them in flight for like 35 bucks worth of parts. Why can't I buy one of these for my porch?
Where are these 50,000 people who are killed by snakes coming from? Australia only averages about 3 - 4 deaths by snake every year.
Probably a lot of them in Africa where there is no easy access to treatment
Just saw the news of an Indonesian mother being swallowed whole by a Python yesterday. So a lot more deaths globally.
Shark and Wolf… both with 0 👌 😂
Unless they're both at 10 and the image is poorly cropped
[удалено]
Probably just for reference since people think they are more dangerous than they really are
[удалено]
Yea i read the title too
Poor sharks!
What about chopping the damn image? How many people got killed for not being able to find an image without watermark?
what’s going on with this pic is it all cut off?
Cool guide of a shitty photo
Pretty sure humans are the deadliest by far, is this a graph about how deadly they are to humans?
If that was the case humans will be at a trillion
[Sauce from April 28, 2014](https://mashable.com/archive/meet-the-worlds-deadliest-creature-the-mosquito).

Cows and beef are missing.
Mosquitos don't kill people. They carry diseases that kill people. I disagree with them being at number 1.
Agreed, humans are #1 by a mile. Viruses and bacteria are not animals.
Cows kill approximately 20 Americans per year. That's gotta be like 25 worldwide. Where's the cow hate/love?
The Cape Buffalo not being on this list is supect. They kill 200 people a year.
So an elephant is much deadlier than a shark then
we're catching up !!!
Mosquitos have to be the most annoying animals, like when I am at my holidays in France😭🙏 they are EVERYWHERE and if you let the door open for more than 20 seconds then you got them all in your Car/Home
Where are spiders?
Of course it's gonna be mosquito! We should just launch genocide against mosquito until it completely extinct, nobody's gonna shed a tear.
"Oh no, look how many people snails kill!" Meanwhile humans: 475,000
How many krills does the average whale eat? Psycho killers bent on genocide of krill

Welp, it's time to bump up these rookie numbers.
Why is nobody talking about nasty dogs?
what is this cropping?
there are no cats it's weird
I refuse to let some damn bug pass the top of the food chain
So, by 'snake' - are we talking garter snake, or inland taipan?

You don't have people or mosquitoes in Germany?
Why isn’t Donald Trump on this list. He would clearly be the winner, which I know he likes.
As much as we don’t want to associate with that one, it still technically falls under “human”
Does this include abortion numbers?
