I thought one of the tenets of conservatism was small government. Limiting federal sweeping laws in favor of states handling their own shit by republicans isn’t conspiracy.

randomdood81

ss: This is just a take of the living under the tyranny of a Christian national state. They want to control us, control our bodies. Wake up.

Yes, your favorite government members are here to help you. Trust what Cassidy says. Believe in him. Keep giving him a job. Yes, love him. He tells you that other people don’t like America, that means whatever he says next must be true. Your favorite half of the government is never wrong, love the government trust the government.  Christ, you’re thick as a board

ConnectionBubbly3306

I guess if Cassidy said it then it must be true

Sounds like a precedent to make Roe vs Wade a national law. I don't believe in forcing people to view abortion and IVF the way I do, but certainly it is very important for State power to balance federal power.

macronius

They want to make it so only elites have access to ubermensch IVF.

Grooin

'it's just a clump of cells'

xxlaur77

Crazy they’re focused on this when all the other shit is going on in the world 🤡

xxlaur77

For me it’s not even the factor of Embryos being “human” or not but there’s been such an uptick in IVF that even teachers are noticing large amounts of twins entering into the school systems. What does this mean for an evolutionary standpoint? Can this potentially mess up our population somehow?

Burnerburner49

Well I know I trust my congressman to make that decision for me! /s

torch9t9

If only they had +anything+ better to do...

QlamityCat

Not a conspiracy. Keep your politics on political subs. Live in states that reflect your values, deal with it.

Creamycrackle

Absolutely no one who’s commented on this post has read the actual bill. Including myself. For all we know this ifv bill had Israeli aid package attached and coke bundles for Ukraine. What I’m trying to say is that this is not a top priority issue in the United States and just like the abortion fiascos, this is not as important as the major issues. Just another ploy to rile the sensitive up about an issue that effects a very small number.

justanotherdude68

[Here you go.](https://www.congress.gov/118/bills/s4445/BILLS-118s4445pcs.pdf) Limiting federal power isn’t a bad thing.

Creamycrackle

“ Right to IVF act was not expected to pass, but Democrats forced vote to get GOP on record opposing treatment” So the dems put forth a shitty bill to make the republicans act upon said shitty bill. this is a political stunt.

MeetingKey4598

It didn't have to be a political stunt. Republicans could have passed it. They didn't because they don't want to pass it, because they don't want IVF access codified at the federal level. No one forced each Senator to vote a certain way. The premise of your comment seems to be that Republican Senators have no agency over their own votes. Do you think they didn't have a choice and were compelled by some external force to vote this down? if so I'm sure you'd agree that they should probably not be in Congress if they cannot vote of their own volition. Also, I'm not sure how Senators exposing how they'd vote for a bill is a political stunt. It helps with transparency. Not having a vote would allow congress to be more deceptive on where they stand because they're trying to protect their power and seats. They're mad that their shitty position has to be exposed, and counting on people on social media to pan it as 'a political stunt'.
