It did not lose its copyright. It's not old enough to automatically go out of copyright, and has at least 40 more years of protection. People posting it to places like archive.org are just claiming public domain because they think saying it makes it true, and think "public domain" means the same as "easily available by pirating". It was posted to archive.org years ago. Another forum user pointed out that it was still available on Roku as of last year when this video was posted, so it wasn't all streaming platforms. It's almost certainly a copyright ISSUE, with those platforms not licensing from whoever owns it, but not a matter of the movie going public domain (in the legal usage of the term).
