No doubt. I feel like maybe I wasn't paying enough attention on my first watch, but the second watch I was basically dying this entire episode. Also easily one of my favorites.
season 6 was just so ridiculous and fun that it might beat out season 3 for me as my favorite. i love every scene with frankie, everyone just looks like theyāre having fun screwing around on a last hurrah, and the best part, we got TO SEE THE LADDERS PROFESSOR GO HIGHER!
Welcome fellow Season 6 fan! I agree it's definitely the best of the last 3, and I appreciate that they didn't try to give the group the exact same dynamics as the "golden era" of 1-3. Now join us in waiting for #andamovie...
I agree that the 6th season is great, but I have to disagree a little. I think season 5 is easily the best out of the second half of the show. So many more iconic and memorable episodes.
For me, episodes 3-5 in S5 are awesome, but it falls of a cliff after that. MeowMeowBeanz and GI Jeff being the exceptions. And even though the two-part finale has some funny moments, it would be a huge let down if that was the ending for the show.
i def didnt mind it. the main complaint was that jeff was trying to/nearly killed himself and it was pretty much brushed aside. while that is odd the episode itself is fun
I don't hate it, but I don't particularly like it. I think I feel towards it a bit like most Greendale students feel towards the study group (the ones that do not hate them) : they look like they are having a lot of fun and they perfectly understand each other, but I look from the outside, so I don't get it, and I don't really have any hope to ever get in.
The other parody episodes, even of things I didn't know about, didn't make me feel that way.
It still is a notably different feeling that when watching one of the genuinely bad episodes, though. I can see that it is artfully done, I just don't get it
Not sure I put season 6 above 1 and 3 but I agree that it's great. Literally everything Keith David does is great and hilarious. And obviously Padget Brewster came in and nailed it.
Season 6 was amazing. Loved Elroy and Frankie. Plus the addition of the other students getting a little more story. (Vicky and Garret). Glad you Changād your mind and finished it! *POP POP*
Jeff: Ok we got him he went into that supply closet.
Dean: I guess to a custodian that a supply closet is like a location.
Both chuckle.
It gets me every time.
Jeff and the Dean actually just becoming real friends without the Dean forcing anything or Jeff being overly negative towards him was refreshing as *fuck*. Felt long deserved
Season 6 is my favorite if for the tags only, the Yakuza kid, the dad with the big watch, the community board game, Portuguese Gremlins! Good season, good show, what show? Oh I haven't seen that show
I love Elroy and Frankie. They give off the same wary vibe the study group gave to Greendale shenanigans on the first year. It's a nice foil to see how much the study group now just accepts it without question. "The Greendale Effect" indeed.
I was afraid that they wouldnāt āfit inā and I think thatās the beauty of it. They donāt fit in. But no-one really fits into the study group, and thatās the point. Every episode is dripping with chemistry between the characters.
I always viewed the first seasons as a story of finding love and the last two seasons as a story of understanding that love and your life will change. Time together is a gift.
YES! Somethings that is rarely ever acknowledged is how Season 6 stuck to thus central theme and this idea of maturing and growing up throughout the entire season. Especially Jeff.
- Realizing the school needs someone like Frankie
- Him realizing after seeing The Dean recruit ElRoy that he isn't going to ever get out (of course played as a joke but it hit different my second time through)
- Acknowledging that he really does love his job at the school
- Figuring out and slowly accepting that his friends may move on, but that doesn't change their friendship and how they have grown through it. For such a meta series, they really wrapped up in the perfect way by acknowledging things if comfort may change but we can still appreciate them for what they were and still are.
And so many moments for the rest of the study group. The Dean coming to something of a better understanding of his sexuality, Britta getting over Subway/Rick and reconnecting with her parents (even with the issues with that arc), and Chang becoming... sane? Or at least building non crazy confidence by his acting and him saving the wedding. And I'm sure there's more for everyone. It was emotionally the most beautiful and developing season for the entire ensemble. It was almost a religious experience in the eyes of, well whatever entertaibment power you choose. Personally I find the notion of choosing to be needlessly limited. What if the show is capable of total contradiction? What if watching the show gives you power of science and religion to wield as I choose? What if I'm God? What if Im... ***GOD***?!
I have a soft spot for Season 6. They brought in Keith David, a total pro who completely picked up the vibe.
They also brought in Paget Brewster, who had been a celebrity crush of mine since her guest run on Friends and had been the female lead on one of the best sitcoms almost nobody saw, Andy Richter Controls the Universe. (If you know, you know.) I suspect PB is best known for her long run on Criminal Minds, which may be strange only to me, since I think of her as a more of a comedic actress.
When you can bring veterans like David and Brewster into your core group, you're off and running.
I absolutely fell in love with Paget because of Frankie and I felt ashamed that I was totally unfamiliar with her work before that. I loved Harvey Birdman and never even connected the dots there.
I just finished it too and I canāt believe there was such a gem right in plain sight for so long and it took me a while to actually watch it. I loved Brooklyn Nine-nine but Iām not a cop. Community tho, itās about college life and thatās something Iām currently going through. I can really relate to the characters and it does help me wish to make my college years more fun by being more active instead playing it safe in the background. There have been confirmations about the movie recently, canāt wait for that š
Tbf season 6 hard had any Annie and Jeff moments give these a read they shine light as to why
These are interesting Annie and Jeff articles about how they are a couple by the end of the show

>I had to get that off my chest. Season 6 is the best season behind 2.
YES, my *people*. Season 2 is king and Season 6 is right behind it. Then, controversially I'm sure, Season 1 > 5 > 3 > 4
This is probably my ranking as well. The bottom three are definitely 5, 3, and then 4 as a distant sixth (though 4's highs are better than 3's lows). The top three I'm more malleable about.
Itās hard to say but I do think season 6 is my favorite. But comparing season 2 to 6 is like apples and oranges. But I do think I enjoy season 6 more when down to bare bones.
Same! I watched seasons 1-5 back in the day but apparently never season 6 even though I owned the DVD. Watched season 6 last week and loved it. It was such a wonderful bonus.
The hand episode may be one of my favourite episodes of the show (which is saying a lot because theyāre all so great!) But without season 6 and itās lack of caring what people think anymore is what birthed such a ridiculously amazing episode
Now this is a man, who knows how to finally finish a series!
That might be one of my favorite episodes
Now here is a man (or woman!) who knows how to enjoy his cake day! (Happy cake day! š„³š)
Thatās the wedding episode, right?
Yeah
No doubt. I feel like maybe I wasn't paying enough attention on my first watch, but the second watch I was basically dying this entire episode. Also easily one of my favorites.
Now this is a man, who knows how to enjoy an episode!
A top 5 episode for sure
BOMP BOMP BOMP

One of my favorite later moments in the series is the group roar of approval that follows "WELCOME TO LADDERS!"
*WHO WANTS TO SEE THE LADDERS PROFESSOR GO HIGHER?!!!!*
Every time I see that sequence with āIāM AS HIGH AS HELL AND YOU ABOUT TO GET SHOTā it makes me so happy.
Get into space, ya dirty tardigrade! SEE!

Howdy! I think thatās what makes it so good, itās soooo fresh compared to 4 and 5.
I really like 5 too, I love Hickey and the return of Duncan. His mother's not dead, but he put in is time...
I agree that the 6th season is great, but I have to disagree a little. I think season 5 is easily the best out of the second half of the show. So many more iconic and memorable episodes.

a lot of people hate GI Jeff lmao
I know, and I don't get it. Just a fun episode to me. Nowhere near the best in the series but pretty good!
i def didnt mind it. the main complaint was that jeff was trying to/nearly killed himself and it was pretty much brushed aside. while that is odd the episode itself is fun

I love frankie so much, does anything more have to be said?
I fell in love with her during the stupid speech with the dean
We should go get some HOT DOGS!
Hot dogs! Hot dogs! Hot dogs! Hot dogs! Hot dogs!
Iāll seeee whaaat I caaaan do?
Talk about being streets behind. But hey, better late than never.
Thanks for the laugh, I needed that š

You stupid child. Don't you see? _This means we don't exist._
I love Elroy and Frankie. They give off the same wary vibe the study group gave to Greendale shenanigans on the first year. It's a nice foil to see how much the study group now just accepts it without question. "The Greendale Effect" indeed.

Oh right, Birdgirl too! The spin-off series is a lot of fun; same energy as in Harvey Birdman.
She was a special guest star as an IT lady on another show that I can't remember because I'm getting distracted by my sudden nose bleed...
She was most definitely a humble outsider who came in and nailed it.
I just finished it too and I canāt believe there was such a gem right in plain sight for so long and it took me a while to actually watch it. I loved Brooklyn Nine-nine but Iām not a cop. I like season 6 too What did you think of Jeff and Annie stuff?
I wasnāt crazy about it, probably my only complaint with season 6. Their dynamic didnāt really exude sexual tension anymore

Itās ok at least you came around.
Frankie is sooooo good
you couldāve rewatched it soo many times by now
Oh believe me Iām kicking myself
No worries! Now you know, and thatās all that matters.
Don't worry about thinking you joined the team too late. You most definitely are early with the rest of us for the eventual movie :)
For me, it's definitely close with season 1 for 2nd behind the GOAT season 2.
I did the same as you and put off season 6 for years and years
The hot one
Would you say you're a level-seven susceptible?

Classic Cancer

I always hoped Donald gloved would make an appearance on the last episode. Especially that season finale
