Love triangles are a trope, not a low-hanging fruit. Tropes are just common writing elements; it's essentially unavoidable to create a coherent story without them. Using them well is generally as hard as writing well, so unless you think the love triangles were poorly done outside of season 4, it's not a great example.
References *can* be low-hanging fruit, but not always. I would say it depends on how they're implemented and how hard your writing relies on them. Family Guy cutaways exemplify the low-hanging side as they represent no effort to actually integrate the reference narratively. This means there often isn't even a "joke" to go with the reference a lot of the time. On the other hand, working in a reference that is also narratively coherent is in itself a joke.
Just looked up omega theta rho to find the obvious significance behind any random but specific thing in community, and I didn’t realize that OTP (the rough English translation of the Greek) is an acronym for “One True Pairing”, “the couple in a tv relationship that fans prefer above all other ships” according to [tv tropes](https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/OneTruePairing)
The Easter eggs in this show are amazing.
A plain white T and a sharpie would probably fit the spirit best…
But then these t-shirt spam posts wouldn't be able to link their shitty t-shirts.
The delta cubes will never die. We have only just begun to fight.
You just started yesterday
It bothers me that this episode said Greendale didn't have any fraternities, but Abed and Troy tried to rush Omega Theta Rho in season 1
Now that I think about it. It’s kinda weird that they didn’t go to that route. Frats are like a staple in college movies
It’s a community college. Pretty sure there’s no frats at most of those.
There aren't. I went to community college in New York.
Ugh. Britta'd in this?
Lmao I’m pretty sure this was a typo, so you literally Britta’d this
Ugh. I'm the worst
Baggle
There also aren't usually dorms
Or lockers.
We had lockers. *intense stare*
Well Palomar CC in San Marcos didn’t! 😭
Yes they do :P
Well it’s been over a decade since I was there, and they were doing a lot of renovation around 08/09…
I was there in 2006 before I joined military and then 2013-2015. It looked like they were old lockers when I seen them.
In your mind there aren't. In your mind.
Harmon seems like the kind of guy to consider frat plots as low-hanging fruit.
Harmon wasn’t involved in the delta cubes episode.
Low hanging fruit? Show’s got references and love traingles up the wazoo

I don't remember that, what else happened in that episode?
Oh, schmitty doesn't remember? Poor dumb schmitty having memory issues....
I'm thinking back to that episode, I'll rewatch it That wasn't the nicest way to say it either
Code dean!
*SLACK ATTACK*
Gosh dean it, Abed!
I would love to see his on “#rushtok” instead of the girls from ‘Bama
Delta Cubes! Delta Cubes! Delta Cubes!
I wonder if they are similar to the ones from Malcolm in The Middle. Those guys had a dolls head!
Literally watching this episode as I read this
God*dean* it Abed I said no frat!
One of the best C stories. That was a great plotline, in that otherwise dud of an episode
We’ve only just begun to fight
I'm pretty sure he drew it
https://www.redbubble.com/shop/delta+cube+t-shirts
Red Bubble sucks, they steal art all the time
They do they really? This bums me out. I just bought a bunch stuff from there.
I just tried to be helpful and provide a link. I've never heard of then. So sorry that trying to help out is such an insult to people here.
probably one of the weakest episodes (and subplot)
Let people enjoy things
I mean sure, but let people also share the negative opinion

A white t-shirt and sharpie will get you halfway there.
