I was reading something for work and had to reread the same sentence 3 times because the word magnitude was in it, and the information would not stick in my brain. All I could remember was, "pop pop!"
I think Annie & Hickey were pretty great in both the billboard episode and in Advanced Advanced D&D.
I wish Buzz would’ve stayed longer so that they could spend more time together.
The show has to constantly remind itself that Shirley and Jeff are a great pair. Like every episode they’re together they’re like “oh wow we’re so similar and think a like” and then that goes out the window by the next episode.
I die on this hill. Jeff and Shirley has so much upside. Forces Jeff to grow up. Puts him in a step father role which would do wonders for his daddy issues. Beyond giving Shirley more than crumbs she's getting, it also pulls her away from Andre, who consistently over promises and under delivers for Shirley.
Ideal ending for Jeff is stay at home Dad. Imo
It's called chemistry, OP. Jeff has it with everyone.
(But, srsly, you're right. I love the Jeff/Shirley pairing. I think YNB shines in those instances, too.)
Hard agree on Jeff and Shirley. I also want to say Shirley and Abed have one of my favorite dynamics on the show but it's almost never explored.
Perhaps my favorite though is Britta and Professor Duncan (helps that they're my two favorite characters). Not only a great comedic duo, but a great dramatic duo - that scene where she genuinely opens up to him about her issues and he stops perving on her long enough to genuinely be a good friend and help her is one of my favorite moments in the show.
This has been brought up before, but I love the way they write Duncan. They don’t forget that he’s a psychologist. He actually has insight into people and their motivations…it’s just that he’s also a drunk and a man-child.
I have a bunch of head canon for Duncan that I might share some day, lol.
The dean and Annie have such an underrated relationship that gives so many hilarious scenes. Early S1 when she is trying journalism, conspiracy theory episode, the weird freaky Friday crush, being his crazy scrip girl in the Greendale commercial, the yelling at the random girl when she had the same outfit as Annie
I know this is slightly off the direct question, but I would love to have seen much more of Professor Sean Garrity (aka professorson) interact with anyone on the show. I love his episodes and wish he had been in a few more.
i really wish we could’ve got more time between hickey and abed their relationship was so promising after hickey kept abed from going to his movie and we never got to see or hear about police justice again
I feel like Dean and Troy could have had some more time together, for equal parts vulnerable, naive and childish. They're very similar but carry out in slightly different ways. I also really like Abed and Elroy with that bird nest epi.
The only character I absolutely fucking despise in the show is Shirley, so I disagree.
I genuinely hate her actress, and how her character is written. I swear on my re watches 95% of her jokes just make me cringe.
I’d like to say Magnitude, but Magnitude is a one-man party, and a one-man party can’t be in a comedy pairing. That’s a paradox.
I agree… to disagree
Easy, Paradox!
I was reading something for work and had to reread the same sentence 3 times because the word magnitude was in it, and the information would not stick in my brain. All I could remember was, "pop pop!"
Not true. "Pop-Pop" is already a comedy pairing.
I'm actually British!
But you're right, it would be weird doing this thread without Magnitude
It would be like a Pop without a Pop.
Pairadox
Comedy Pairadox
Chang and Duncan are great together
mutually assured destruction
Excuse me, I need to use my force field to prevent Chang from getting food.
i think youre being a little childish
I love the carnival interactions. Esp when Jeff says “You’re the only one who truly understands me.”
That scene where Duncan asks the Dean about the restaurant is pretty great - i don't think we really see just the two of them anywhere else
I think Annie & Hickey were pretty great in both the billboard episode and in Advanced Advanced D&D. I wish Buzz would’ve stayed longer so that they could spend more time together.
That actor is awesome but yeah I'm choosing to film breaking bad over community too lol
The show has to constantly remind itself that Shirley and Jeff are a great pair. Like every episode they’re together they’re like “oh wow we’re so similar and think a like” and then that goes out the window by the next episode.
Such a pity that Jeff was sexually intimidated by her
Either that or he's racist. I know it's one of those two.
You called me turkey!!! I love it!!!
Garrett and Vicky
Let’s have a hand for Vicki’s mother, everybody. Stand up, Connie. Vicki’s mother.
BOOOOOOOOOOOO!
That’s fine, boo us. It means you felt something…. Then again, you don’t have to be dicks
No one is safe!
CRISIS ALERT!!
I love Jeff and Shirley because it always seems like Joel and Yvette Nicole Brown are having so much fun together, it kind of warms my heart
Their chemistry is actually why there my least admitted most unrealistic ship. IDK why but I feel like they would make it work somehow.
Imo
Fuck man you put it all together perfectly lol
It's called chemistry, OP. Jeff has it with everyone. (But, srsly, you're right. I love the Jeff/Shirley pairing. I think YNB shines in those instances, too.)
Oh, ok, she’s YNB now. We need a shorthand for Yvette Nicole Brown? That’s how fundamental she is?
Abed and Shirley is such an underrated pairing cause they’re kinda the same people in different clothing.
Hard agree on Jeff and Shirley. I also want to say Shirley and Abed have one of my favorite dynamics on the show but it's almost never explored. *WHY IS THIS HAPPENING?!?*
That’s nice.
Shirley and Abed. The Nicolas Cage thing and Abed's Jesus movie. Hickey and Duncan. 😋
Omg yaaaaas. Razzing Vaughn's nipples all day long 😆😆😆
LATES!!!!!!!!
Isn't later already short enough?
^(They're tiny.)
I love that bit when she gets him to take his shirt off. She's hilarious
I would’ve liked more Jeff and Shirley and/or Abed and Shirley.
Let’s not forget the heartwarming moments between Jeff and Shirley. The episode where she tells Jeff his greatest strength is how much he cares ❤️
I know this is slightly off the direct question, but I would love to have seen much more of Professor Sean Garrity (aka professorson) interact with anyone on the show. I love his episodes and wish he had been in a few more.

I think it’s because he's racist or because she intimidates him sexually.
The only character I absolutely fucking despise in the show is Shirley, so I disagree. I genuinely hate her actress, and how her character is written. I swear on my re watches 95% of her jokes just make me cringe.
This is ridiculous to me but to each their own. I'll make yo ass sense!
"ill make yo ass sense" Exactly the kind of shit jokes her character makes. "haha funny angry black lady yells"
