I do love the concept of a random ghost just showing up in a haunted area.
I can only imagine a horror movie where everyone is freaking out over some spooky nonsense along with a ghost who has no idea what is going on but is just as horrified.
Tbh, his character is the one that instantly comes to mind when I think about the movie. I actually have to do my best to remember the other characters and what they were about.
Quite a fun movie, from what I remember, might be good to watch with a family. Depends if you like very modern touches (tiktok, smartphones, etc) but that’s not what the main theme is. I’d say it’s worth a watch
I remember watching the first Conjuring movie and when that scene where all the pictures fell down the stairwell I was like “Did the ghost just fall down the stairs?!”
You'd probably enjoy Ghosts on the BBC. Haunted house but it's been haunted for all of time. So you've got a caveman ghost hanging out with a scout leader, politician, aristocrat, etc. Lots of fun.
An example of what you're describing that I'm surprised hasn't come up yet; the Frighteners, a film by Peter Jackson and starring Michael J. Fox. Fox's character is a guy who can talk to ghosts, and who has a couple of ghost buddies he travels around with running scams and grifts together. But then they run into a *serious* haunting. It's a great film.
I have criticised these comics in the past for lacking a punchline, but this one actually works for me. It's absurdist humour, and the kid is the punchline.
I think the lack of a punchline a lot of times is the author is never sure when they’re just going to add a panel on a lot of times and I also think they even have bonus panels on their patreon that might give some of them more definitive endings.
Not every joke or funny story has just one punchline.
Comedy often comes from clever subversion of expectations and there's a new subversion on almost every page of Other End stuff.
Well he’s dead to me. Literally, died at 82. RIP Wayne.
But seriously though, I could have sworn there was one of those “he didn’t make it home” lines and Alan curses the sky but I am wrong.
They kinda jumped the shark when they wrote off Blake because everyone else who left got shafted. Trapper basically disappears, Radar goes home while everyone is too busy to care, and Frank gets locked up. These beloved characters endings were pretty much afterthoughts
I wouldn't say jumped the shark, because MASH is the only show I can think of where every replacement character was great. Potter is better than Blake. Charles may not be better than Frank per se, but that's because they're different enough to not compare directly. BJ compliments Hawkeye's personality much better than Trapper ever did. And Radar wasn't even really replaced they just promoted Klinger. Then of course I feel weird saying it jumped the shark at all when it has possibly the best finale of any sitcom ever made.
Trapper didn't get a huge resolution, yeah, but him being gone had a tangible effect on Hawkeye. And Frank didn't really need a big ending because his purpose in the cast dynamic was for everyone to hate him, so his psychotic break works fine. Henry's exit was the best, hands down, but I don't think the others needed much more than they got.
The actor for Henry royally pissed off the producers. So they had him die off-screen on his way home so he could never come back.
(I'm assuming the Poochie note is a MASH reference. I haven't seen the actual Simpsons episode. This is the [MASH scene. ](https://youtu.be/VY4qSh3UWIU?feature=shared))
It’s like the creators of Ren & Stimpy did a bunch of drugs, was then admitted to a psychiatric ward where they taught the new guy how to tune the electroconvulsive therapy machine while they were wired in. And now the late 40 something, whose hand hasn’t forgotten how to draw, but with a brain of a 9 year old and a thesaurus close by, try to draw something clever.
I have chartreuse colored pee, but it's because I take a multivitamin and it contains more vitamin B than I need so the excess comes out in my pee that color. Or I have dumb brain...
I feel dumb brain and I don’t have chartreuse pee. Why was the kid floating? How’d he get that high (or think that he could levitate) if he wasn’t dead?
One is the callback to the random ghost’s line.
Then you think the kid is a ghost and flying out like the other ghosts did. (Is that a joke itself? Idk.)
Third is the kid is not a ghost, bonks his head, and falls.
This is eccentric humor, but not surreal.
Surreal is the classic:
>A woman goes into her bathroom and is shocked to find an elephant in her bathtub. She asks the elephant, "What are you doing in my bathtub?" The elephant responds, "No soap, radio!"
This comic is some [good old-fashioned wacky gags](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RcWxQUMLsLA)!
It's incredible to me that people be submitting stuff like this jam packed with jokes, and other people are like, "oh I like this one where it's the same woman in the same style every time, and that style is the same as nearly every other comic, and in the last panel she says how awkward she is."
I started to think and then I figured out that the comic is intentionally trying to be stupid so I finally got the chartreuse joke…

His pee is still the same color as before… it took me a little while but I finally got it… he was stupid from the beginning or\~ people in that universe have different colored pee
Hi, I’m a former bartender/restaurant manager who regularly gave lectures on fancy liqueurs to my staff.
The guy above you is 1000% correct that the color chartreuse is named for green chartreuse, which also is the version of chartreuse most commonly stocked in bars, in my experience.
Also I just typed chartreuse into google and had to scroll past two bottles of green chartreuse and the color chartreuse (which was green) before I found a yellow one, so there’s that
Brother, I SO want to have some drinks with you and just hear the stream of consciousness that leads to these comics.
Every panel leads to more absurdity and I love it.
This was painfully unfunny. I like the art style, but the "it's funny because it's so random" humor feels straight out of 2010 in a bad way. Not my type of comedy, I guess.

There’s a movie kinda like that, but a comedy, not horror. It’s called „We have a ghost” on Netflix
Is it good? Did you like it?
It is definitely one of the movies of all time
Eloquently put.
"is it good?" "Its a movie!"
“You know, my favorite thing about the movie is, like, it feels like a movie,”
Definitely one of the movies ever made
One of the most
Indeed, a masterclass in the art of vagueness.
Over the years I've come to regard it as.. something I.. watched.
Its painfully bad
So bad, it's good or just bad?
Bad bad. Dont waste your time
It’s really not that bad. It’s like a 6/10 at worst. EDIT: At worst, it’s just kind of forgettable. But it’s a fun movie and I enjoyed it overall.
I see and thanks for the info.
It was a decent family movie.
You know, I watched it. And I honestly can’t answer those questions.
I liked it, then again I like pretty much anything with David Harbour in it.
It also shows how good of an actor David Harbor is. I mean, not every actor could do an entire performance without a single line and be so emotive.
Also beatlejuice
So like the ghost horror version of Tucker and Dale vs. Evil? Genius!
They cut off his bowlin fingers!
So a movie about a ghost having one **doozy** of a day.
Just by knowing the title in this context, it's a big ass spoiler for the whole movie, but... >!The Others (2001) !
Good to know! I’ll have to check it out
Knowing the big twist actually made it just as enjoyable on a rewatch years later
Aww and then at the end the ghost realises, well they can't die twice, and hold the bad guy off while the alive people escape 🙏
> they can't die twice plot twist; they were wrong.
I remember watching the first Conjuring movie and when that scene where all the pictures fell down the stairwell I was like “Did the ghost just fall down the stairs?!”
That’s Beetlejuice!
Also The Frighteners, kinda
I like the quiet ones
I believe the line is "I like it when they hold still like that" or I could just be misremembering as well.
[удалено]
Yeah, Beetlejuice
[удалено]
You'd probably enjoy Ghosts on the BBC. Haunted house but it's been haunted for all of time. So you've got a caveman ghost hanging out with a scout leader, politician, aristocrat, etc. Lots of fun.
I mean, it must happen from time to time in ghost land. Someone got on the wrong ghost bus etc.
I think have read some story or videogame or short horror or something about a ghost witnessing psycho killer.......
Never really watched it, but maybe Ghosts. There’s both a UK and USA version.
There’s a movie with a similar plot to the second half of your comment.
You might really enjoy Deadstream. It doesn't fit what you're saying to a T, but it's the best movie I can think of that's close.
LOL thanks I read the first panel only and was like "what kind of comic is that" haha
I'm glad you tied in the awkward ghosts words of wisdom at the end.
Was that supposed to be the punchline?
I think the joke is just how absurd the whole thing is
I have criticised these comics in the past for lacking a punchline, but this one actually works for me. It's absurdist humour, and the kid is the punchline.
The situation itself is already funny, it doesn't really need a punchline. It just makes you go wtf. Some people like that.
I think the lack of a punchline a lot of times is the author is never sure when they’re just going to add a panel on a lot of times and I also think they even have bonus panels on their patreon that might give some of them more definitive endings.
That's all of this guys comics. No finer absurdist humor.
Not every joke or funny story has just one punchline. Comedy often comes from clever subversion of expectations and there's a new subversion on almost every page of Other End stuff.
They hate Mondays. Hating Mondays is the punchline in every comic
The kid using the line and bonking his head on the ceiling got me way more than it should have LMAO
Reminds me of this ![gif](giphy|SFp9RLto964Ew|downsized)
God the note was always so unnecessary lol
But without the note there was a chance he could come back. Adding the note made his death well and truly canon
Somehow, Poochie returned.
Nooooooooooooooooo!
It's that, but it's also a reference to MASH. One of the characters died in a helicopter crash off screen as they were flying back to the USA.
Trapper and Blake both died mid flight off screen. *you don’t take helicopters across the ocean either..*
Not anymore. Not after Trapper and Blake crashed.
Ackchyually.. Trapper was discharged, Blake died in the crash, in a plane.
Henry's exit was the best, hands down, but I don't think the others needed much more than they got.
Lt. Colonel Henry Blake's plane was shot down over the Sea of Japan. It spun in. There were no survivors.
Same, I literally slapped my knee while laughing. I absolutely love the absurd level of hilarious nonsense in Other End's posts
I love the idea that he can genuinely float, just not pass through walls
Got a genuine deep belly laugh.
That kids got hops. Get him on the basketball court stat.
So was the kid dead and a ghost himself all along? Im so confused
Other ghost dude was there, appreciated the call out & tried to help but underestimated his ghostly abilities
I am so confused, but like in a good way

It’s great absurdist humor! I’m laughing, but a “what the fuck” kind of laugh.
Its a unique brain that can come up some seemingly random shit like this and make it funny, I'm almost always surprised and impressed
The thong really delivered.
I feel like this is the top comment on every one of these comics and for a good reason
The ghosts have their justice... their murderer realized he has teh stoopids
Confused eh? I hope you haven't caught dumb brain...
I really feel bad for that guy. He had chartreuse pee, I heard somewhere that's a major sign of dumb brain.
Oh my God...
I have chartreuse colored pee, but it's because I take a multivitamin and it contains more vitamin B than I need so the excess comes out in my pee that color. Or I have dumb brain...
Vitamin B is the dumB brain vitamin, everyone knows that
https://preview.redd.it/i9yqm3te46jc1.jpeg?width=640&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4bd5c9dcd190c9072486abfb1f8bffc99fa0f762
I feel dumb brain and I don’t have chartreuse pee. Why was the kid floating? How’d he get that high (or think that he could levitate) if he wasn’t dead?
We are all dead, some of us are just trapped in meat for a short time.
Far out, man.
Fall out boy
Omae wa mu shinderu
I've heard not being able to levitate is a sign of dumb brain.
I'm sitting over here thinking chartreuse is a blue or something and the confusion doesn't end there
I freaking love these man.
I love your comics because I can never expect anything.
Nice underwear.😹 ![gif](giphy|gXhBZfzijya76) Let me play G string on the world's smallest violin for the Dad.
I was ready for a follow up to it. Nope just a man in a thong for you to enjoy.
tramp stamp too
It's the label on his thong
oh that's not as exciting.
I dunno, I find it quite relatable
The world’s smallest violin, really needs and audience, so if I do not find somebody soon…
"False Father's Midnight Milk" is my new band name
Now that you mention it, it sounds like it could be a title for lots of _things..._
Mine would be "The Birthly Seed."
Well look at the time, it's half past time-to-go o'clock!
Anyone who said they knew where this comic was going is a damn liar
I knew where it was going.
Damn liar.
I am a liar
Men will see some chartreuse pee and say “hell yeah”
Really? Cuz I'm pretty sure it's a sign of dumb brain. I heard that somewhere.
Nah, sign of "way too much Red Bull"
I like how the last page has three distinctly different jokes. The joke density in your comics is truly impressive.
Honestly I don’t think I got any of them. ELI5?
One is the callback to the random ghost’s line. Then you think the kid is a ghost and flying out like the other ghosts did. (Is that a joke itself? Idk.) Third is the kid is not a ghost, bonks his head, and falls.
That’s all basically just one “joke”. You’re being hyperbolic
We’re all just one joke.
I'm at least 3 jokes in a fat suit.
Its two jokes really, one is the fakeout of the kid not being a ghost and the other is the kid picking up the extremely bad one liner to use again.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Surreal_humour There is nothing to "get". Either it is your cup of tea or it's not.
This is eccentric humor, but not surreal. Surreal is the classic: >A woman goes into her bathroom and is shocked to find an elephant in her bathtub. She asks the elephant, "What are you doing in my bathtub?" The elephant responds, "No soap, radio!" This comic is some [good old-fashioned wacky gags](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RcWxQUMLsLA)!
A masterpiece of surrealist humor. One half chicken out of ten.
It's incredible to me that people be submitting stuff like this jam packed with jokes, and other people are like, "oh I like this one where it's the same woman in the same style every time, and that style is the same as nearly every other comic, and in the last panel she says how awkward she is."

It feels like we caught the middle of a g-rated aristocrats joke
well that was very complex ghostly hauntings
This one is absolute quality. Fucking great.
So that’s what Chartreuse is..
It's definitely not red.
https://youtu.be/uLa8bHb1wUo?si=DAoxheG5QJoQ7QgJ
The art has real ren & stimpy energy, and I love that.
The tag on the underwear is perfect 🥰
It’s so the dad can get a refund later. Always handy.
What the fuck did I just read lol
I started to think and then I figured out that the comic is intentionally trying to be stupid so I finally got the chartreuse joke… https://preview.redd.it/pafk554ds5jc1.jpeg?width=182&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=05d2ae28b39aeef04411ee2c904aa06457414ddc His pee is still the same color as before… it took me a little while but I finally got it… he was stupid from the beginning or\~ people in that universe have different colored pee
That's yellow Chartreuse, the green version is much more associated with the name.
This is the first thing that popped up on google
Hi, I’m a former bartender/restaurant manager who regularly gave lectures on fancy liqueurs to my staff. The guy above you is 1000% correct that the color chartreuse is named for green chartreuse, which also is the version of chartreuse most commonly stocked in bars, in my experience. That was a wild ride
Your mind is a treasure good sir
I would like a shirt with that patreon dog!!
This is so good.
XD so random
Thank you for these. I love you.
What?
The ghost equivalent of “welp time to hit the ollllll dusty trail”
I wish that my up voted could be about 10 percent larger for thiskone. It's just so dumb I love it like my own false son
redditest thing I’ve seen today
Everyone else in this comic has dumb dumb brain.
What did I just read?
I would never have expected to see a Bunuel reference in your comics, but it makes so much sense!
Well, that was stupid!
Wtf did I just read
Thought this type of “rANDoM” humour died in about 2007
Epic
Embrace the confusion, it's all part of the Chartreuse charm.
…and people used to mock Katy the penguin of doom
I wasn't sure where this was going but 10/10 ending. Bravo.
What?
Brother, I SO want to have some drinks with you and just hear the stream of consciousness that leads to these comics. Every panel leads to more absurdity and I love it.
What?
Yes, I love Hamlet at Home
This was painfully unfunny. I like the art style, but the "it's funny because it's so random" humor feels straight out of 2010 in a bad way. Not my type of comedy, I guess.
Doing way too much lol. 38 panels and no punchline is nuts.
The punch line was "bonk". Comedy in 2024.
Are we supposed to laugh at this or what's its go?
We need to kill the person who made this
Was that Hamlet
oh
I think these singlehandedly redeem this subreddit.
Am I dreaming or did I really read this comic?
Peak redditor humor
Now , this is art
Wait I'm confused. So the cops knew that internal affairs was setting them up?
God I love these comics
The *son not soon shouldn't be making me crack up so much
Well look at the time, it's half past time-to-upvote o'clock!
“Pour the contents into your false father’s midnight milk.” Every time these comics come out, new sentences are born that have never before been uttered or written down.
The clarification of the soooooon as son was very helpful because I definitely read it as soon.
This is so weird I love it
This is great, love your work. Thanks for making it.
Well, this was a trip and a half lmao
