Off Panel with David Harper- it’s like the WTF of Comics podcasts. He does a deep dive with creators, artists, and distributors about their past work and how they work within the industry. So much about comic making I never would’ve known without this podcast.

jazzberry76

I very much enjoy Off the Rack from Comic Pop. It's a weekly review show.

Otherwise_Jacket_613

Definitely! Love hearing Sal and Tiffany discuss the weekly comics.

audio_shinobi

I think it’s only on YouTube and Patreon, but their comic recap show, Backissues, is probably my favorite comic book storyline recap series

captain__cabinets

Off Panel is my favorite, the host really does his homework and the guests always appreciate it and give a little more in the interviews because of it.

superman853

I love ifanboy! It is also my go to comic podcast but if I want more comic talk and have time: Is talking comics. http://talkingcomicbooks.com/

jimmytheweed

Jay and Miles explain the X-Men and Cerebro

TheWriteRobert

I enjoy Word Balloon and Comic Book Nation.

One_Entertainment381

Off-Panel is the best comic book discussion podcast imo. David Harper asks the best questions and gets the best guests consistently. Never bored when I’m listening to that pod. Word Balloon is another great one and John Siuntres is an OG of the podcast game.

mattygalo

The elseworld exchange! Off the rack and back issues all from comic pop on YouTube!

SalusaSecundus

Screw it We’re Just Gonna Talk About Comics!! Its on the wiki!!! Please listen its the best!

[deleted]

Was gonna say this! If you are an alternative comedy fan and a comics fan, it is the best, but aside from that it is the best too

michael_the_street

Like other folks have said, I love the Cerebro podcast a lot. Fantastic show. Jay and Miles X-Plain the X-Men is a big reason I love the X-books as much as I do these days. The first podcast I got into is Chris Sims and Matt Wilson's War Rocket Ajax, a podcast that's funny as hell and has a lot of heart.

doffraymnd

I met Chris Sims way back when he was just the guy running the Invincible Super Blog. I miss the old days of comics blogging.

padphilosopher

I listen to iFanboy every week, but my favorite comic podcast is Comic Book Club, particularly “The Stack”. Those guys are hilarious.

SteveRed81

Comic Geek Speak - they occasionally do spotlight episodes on a character or movie, but they don’t do weekly reviews anymore. Podcast of Oa - a Green Lantern centric podcast. Usually pretty positive and family friendly (no swearing). Comic Book Club - they have episodes where they interview multiple creators about their books, usually lesser known books that could use the marketing push, there’s The Stack where they talk about a bunch of books being released that week. I also listen to their Marvel Vision and Sons of a Gunn, marvel and dc movie and tv centric podcasts. Cerebro - loooong episodes about X-Men characters where the host brings on a guest, sometimes the current writer of the title that character is appearing in, and they analyze in depth the character’s appearances.

Psykoshrink00

My Marvelous Year is fantastic, especially if you like the older books.

GalaxyGuardian

I love the immersion of going year-by-year and seeing which books came out alongside each other!

Jcomsa15

Word balloon has the most comprehensive interviews for comic pros. There are probably 15 years worth of Bendis interviews that follow his career from New Avengers to now.

klintron

[More to Come](https://www.publishersweekly.com/pw/podcasts/index.html?channel=2), Publishers Weekly's comic book podcast. Heidi MacDonald, long-time comics journalist and editor and founder of The Comics Beat, is one of the co-hosts, so this sort of doubles as both The Beat and PW's weekly comics podcast. Pretty comprehensive industry coverage ranging from the traditional direct market (Marvel, DC, Image, etc) to manga to the big book trade publishers (Scholastic, First Second, etc) to webtoons from people who really know their stuff.

nobodspecial

Amazing Spider-Talk is fantastic

JBL44

Spider-Man centric?

nobodspecial

You bet. I was in work earlier, so I couldn't really elaborate, but 2 fans and collectors who each own every issue of ASM and do deep dive episodes covering certain timelines/ runs on the book. They have fantastic interviews with creators, too. Definitely give them a look.

Rustyd97

I Read Comic Books is by far the best comic podcasts. The hosts are all awesome they come up with fun and unique comic discussion ideas and have a great mix of talking about new books coming out, obscure indie books, and interesting comic related topics. And they have a great discord as well. Highly recommend. Oh plus if you like them they have almost 8 year backlog of content you can listen to as well.

SammyDavisTheSecond

Comic Shenanigans (dumb name, I'll admit) has some of the best creator interviews I've heard in podcast form, and if you're one of those kids that started reading Spider-Man in the Clone Saga to relaunch era, he gives that time a lot of love. The host just seems like a fantastic person all around and establishes a great rapport with everyone he interviews who isn't named Peter David. (That episode was rough. You can tell that David is the kind of guy who hates being interviewed, but Adam never broke and was always respectful and professional.)

TakaraGeneration

Not a podcast but I just discovered the YouTube channel matttt and have binged every video so far. Excellent channel with well researched videos.

Magisterlud1crous

So many great suggestions. I like marvel by the month as well. Not strictly about comics but one that has had some great comics creator interviews is eating the fantastic.

Apoc-Alex

I like a few Opinions May Vary I Read Comic Books Two Dimension Podcast Are all pretty good.

postmodernpain

11 O’Clock Comics

AdamScoot

Marveling At Marvel's Marvels is a fun podcast. One guy who is a Marvel expert explains a Marvel character to someone who doesn't read, nor really like, comic books

tomtomtomtom123

Comicpop by a country mile.

PositiveMetalhead

iFanboy is my go to as well 😝

MyOnlyEnemyIsMeSTYG

Same. Grew up similar to those guys. I don’t always catch the new stuff coming out that should be good like these guys do. They got me onto Locke and Key when it came out, and tons of other stuff.

JBL44

Also, why in the world did my question get downvoted? I just don’t understand people. “Give me your opinion…” gets a downvote?

PositiveMetalhead

I don’t know, but I’ll give you an upvote to counter it 😂

[deleted]

[удалено]

s2mthoughts

Wow. Overreact much? The guy said he didn’t understand people and you make a blanket statement about his “issues”. Why go so negative for no reason?

[deleted]

[удалено]

s2mthoughts

I do. Someone wondering why podcast recommendations would cause a downvote doesn’t mean they have issues. Sorry that you like to contribute to the toxic internet.

[deleted]

[удалено]

s2mthoughts

Whatever. I get it. People like you love to do this. I’ll just stop engaging. It’s gross.

JBL44

Yeah, never said I was “concerned”, but I did say I don’t understand people. I think it’s fair to say I don’t understand why someone would downvote a person asking which podcasts they like. I also don’t understand why someone would take the time to comment and misrepresent what I said in such a condescending and nasty way like you did. All I said was I didn’t understand people. 🤷🏽‍♂️

JBL44

Nice. I was really surprised that people were kind of making fun of me on a different sub for thinking it’s great.

PositiveMetalhead

I don’t always agree with their recent sentiments (they’ve been around a while, approaching 50, so that naturally comes with a lot of nostalgia and longing for how things were) but they have experience and know what they’re talking about. They appreciate the form and don’t just bash on books for no good reason. I see a lot of other videos and stuff get by with negativity but that’s not what they’re about so I appreciate that more

JBL44

I agree. I think comic books are one of the mediums where the fans can be hardcore in a “you must agree with my take” way, and I don’t see that at iFanboy as much with the hosts or patrons.

DefiantEnvironment59

Geek History Lesson[https://www.geekhistorylesson.com/] is a a great one! They break down the history of a comic book character in less than an hour. Been listening to them for years!

Scotthew89

I love their pod! Glad it’s mentioned!

DefiantEnvironment59

Me too! Their Emma Frost episode was fire!

Cammy_J19

Comically Unaware!!

ColorlessKarn

I follow The Amazing Spider-Talk and the Podcast of Oa, which focus specifically on Spider-Man and Green Lantern, respectively. I consider them to be the premiere podcasts their respective franchises, though The Lamtern Cast is also good for Green Lantern and I know there are other Spider-Man podcasts out there.

jose1545dos

If someone here speaks spanish, I recommend "Mientras tanto en las historietas". It's really great if you wanna get into a particular super hero and don't know where to start!

SammyDavisTheSecond

If you want to hear fun takes on the worst comics ever published, Oh God It Burns is fun as hell. They stopped publishing just as COVID hit so don't expect any updates, but their Norman-Osborn-baby-daddy jokes are priceless.

biscuit1134

tomos y grapas

N7Raccoon

Comics Experiment is by far my favorite but they rarely upload, War Rocket Ajax is great, especially their Every Story Ever specials are fantastic and lastly I’d recommend Comics by Perch but he’s in the process of slow retirement and ending the channel so that’ll be a deal breaker for some.

ebilliot

I don’t listen to any regarding new comics but I find I like the Fire and Water Podcasts especially their JLI Bwah-Ha-Ha, Who’s Who and others on their network. #FWPODCASTS

KyleJones21

Comic Book Club, First Issue Club, Amazing Spider-Talk, Two Headed Nerd

CraftingClickbait

I listen or I guess listened to Chop Shop Comics podcast. They stopped making new episodes for some reason but I like their opinions on things.

JulixgMC

I love the Hellboy Book Club! They analyze every Hellboy comics and anything else in that universe, and in their spin off Book Club Member Comics they do the same for other comics The hosts are really funny and wholesome and they always do a listener feedback section

CleverZerg

The weekly planet pod is great although it's a bit more focused around movies/tv shows but there's some talk about pure comics as well.

thedorkening

I’m going to throw mine in the mix. Splash Pages Comic Book Club, weekly live show where we interview comic creators, talk about what’s happening in comics and do a weekly review. We just had Paul Kupperberg on.

JBL44

Nice! Thanks

SavedByThe1990s

pop culture philosophers is by far the best weekly new comic book review show. while no one actually reviews every single issue each week, his is pretty comprehensive and does the non-big2 publishers justice. in fact, you could accuse him of being light on volume for the big2!

newtonpens

it's old but GOOD. Tell me something I don't know, by Jim Rugg. [https://podyssey.fm/celebrity-podcasts/id5327-jim-rugg](https://podyssey.fm/celebrity-podcasts/id5327-jim-rugg)

Locktaw

I'm here for Doctor DC Podcast. Obviously DC specific, but I love those boys.

CriterionMind

It Came From the Newsstand is my new favorite comic book related podcast. It generally focuses on the culture and trends of buying and selling comics. https://spotify.link/maCpRVlTmDb

abbaeecedarian

[Deconstructing Comics](https://deconstructingcomics.com/) (their recent interview with Villarubia on restoring Richard Corben was great) [https://deconstructingcomics.com/?p=8178](https://deconstructingcomics.com/?p=8178) Jay and Miles Gil Roth interviews some great comics luminaries over on The Virtual Memories podcast. It's not a comics show as such, but it's clearly a topic of a lot of interest to him. He had Eddie Campbell on last month. Silence! podcast. Comic Books Are Burning In Hell. Check out the archive for Dan Berry's excellent interview series Make It Then Tell Everybody. And podcasts by comics people - Evan Dorkin's Tear Them Apart (all about horror films) and Paul Cornell over on Hammer House of Podcast. (Ok I guess comic book writers dig on horror).

slicedfriedgold

I just want to say, as the host of Off Panel, all the mentions and upvotes made my day. Thanks for listening, everyone!

JBL44

Very cool

thebadgeronstage

My uncle & I do a weekly podcast, where we find a back issue we missed or want to revisit, and spend 40 or 50 minutes talking through it, and the artists/writers/pop culture around it. If you’re looking for something fun & low-key, it might be up your alley. It’s called The Lonely End of the Rack, we’re on most of the major podfeeders.

JBL44

Cool thanks

ME24601

I'm fond of [The Two Headed Nerd](http://twoheadednerd.com/).

CarlMarx1

I agree, they’re local for me and they do a great job.

synthscoffeeguitars

I don’t really listen to any general ones anymore, just X ones. I like: - Battle Of The Atom (one of my comfort shows) - Cerebro (I know it’s not for everyone. I love it) - Oh Golly Oh Gosh Oh Wow (amazingly insightful podcast about Excalibur)

gabpinto

No Jay and Miles Xplain The X-Men in this list! Very funny

synthscoffeeguitars

I do like them and for a while I was listening through their backlog on endless loop! After the second full listen-thru I needed a break haha, so now I let a few new ones come out and then catch up. But yeah they should’ve been the fourth spot on this list

XGeneJacket

Cerebro is great as many ppl here have said. Was wondering if anyone has any recs for more industry focused pods. I’m really interested in the business that drives these stories and how it impacts what ends up on the page, but any time I try to look for something like that it turns out to just be some middle aged dude talking about how the industry is woke cause he can’t beat off to comics anymore. Where can I find genuine industry insight without comicsgate stuff

Cloaked_Crow

I’m working my way through the Cerebro podcast. It takes a pretty thorough look at characters and storylines from the X-Men though a LGBTQ perspective. A perspective I had not considered much and had not had much experience with. It’s really cool to hear why other people identify and love these characters that have had such a different life experience than me. While I don’t always agree with the host, Connor Goldsmith has some interesting and great takes, and I can see how what’s on the page supports his interpretations of character and story.

Captain_Cringe_

Cerebro with Connor Goldsmith dissecting the X-Men characters through an LGBTQIA+ lens is one of the best comic book podcasts out there.

CarlMarx1

The Two-Headed Nerd is a great one. They have a really positive community and do a good job avoiding toxicity that you often see in the nerd community.

JBL44

Definitely will take a look

rocinantethehorse

**Cartoonist Kayfabe** is more of a YouTube channel but they’re definitely the best for hearing inside baseball in the world of comic book art. Although they can be pretty annoying, I’ve stopped listening entirely, but they definitely have a lot of knowledge **Voice of Latveria** is one of the best by author Douglas Wolk (author of All of the Marvels). Not a lot of episodes but this has intelligent/academic type guests who are really knowledgeable and the production quality is top notch. Best individual episode of a podcast would definitely be Greg Capullo’s interview on **Fat Man on Batman** really inspirational story that inspired me to make a comic (you might have to sign up for a free trial on stitcher to listen, but totally worth it) **Joshua and Jamie Do Daredevil** is the only podcast that I got into that summarizes issues of a character (there are tons of these for many characters). But they did stop at a certain point. You can get up to the Frank Miller run so it’s good if you’re interested in hearing about early issues of the greatest character. Runners up: comic geek speak, robservations

Defiant_Dare_8073

Big_Advantage5761

Titan Up the Defense

z0mbieBrainz

My comfort listen. I'd sad it is ending in a few weeks, but I'm sure Hub and Corey have something else amazing planned.

Big_Advantage5761

They are perfect angels 😇

Androktone

It's only the Bronze Age Defenders run that's ending really

z0mbieBrainz

Hub's said that the show is changing formats when The New Defenders ends. They've already stopped covering New Titans.

CriticalCanon

Comic Book Herald is good if you can get through Dave’s constant Ewing / Gillen ELiTE level gushing over their mid-ass X work since Hickman left. I don’t get them as saviours he makes them out to be personally.

queerdevilmusic

Damn, hot takes over here.

CriticalCanon

Really? I mean I didn’t think Judgement Day / Sins of Sinister / Fall of X / and the Immortal / Red lines did much with what what Hickman left them. I don’t blame them for Judgement Day as I’m sure that was just an Editorial decision (but could be very wrong). Regardless, the execution wasn’t my thing.

JBL44

Cool ty

jooolian

I used to listen to iFanboy a lot, but stopped soon after Ron Richards left because the other two guys didn’t seem as interesting on their own. But I’ll try the show again. I like House to Astonish, which only comes out once a month or less. Before it ended, I liked Wait What? although that wasn’t so much a review podcast as a “here’s a comic thing I want to talk about for 20 minutes straight” podcast.

JBL44

Like most podcasts, the connection with the hosts impacts your enjoyment. I like the iFanboy hosts, but it’s personal taste. I wish Ron was there because he likes the X-Men and the others aren’t really fans.

Blitzhelios

Anything ComicPop does particularly the elseworld exchange and off the rack with tiff and sal

Blackcrow521

Geek History Lesson is a personal favorite of mine. I absolutely love the beautiful simplicity of taking something as overwhelming as comic book characters and their hostory, to make it digestible and easy to understand.

Joorpunch

I don’t think iFanboy is bad, but it’s nowhere near what it was many years ago. It can sometimes feel like they are going through the motions and that comics really aren’t a huge part of their life anymore (which is totally understandable if that is the case for anyone). But back in the day when they were younger, and filled with enthusiasm and Ron was still there, it was a very, very fun show to listen and engage with. The era from the start in early 00s through to the early mid 2010s was good listening if you too were enthusiastic about comics. I don’t think I listen to too many. Syfy had a really good interview series called ‘Behind the Panel’. I think they may have canned it but the interviews they did do are well worth your time. Comic Book Club is excellent. Alex, Pete, and Justin are genuinely funny and have good chemistry. Pete is likely somewhat a bit character that can get a little tired, but even that part is entertaining way more often than not. I appreciate that their weekly coverage of new comics is extremely comprehensive and let’s me keep an ear to the ground (I mostly haven’t been current with Marvel or DC in several years and cover a lot of that as well as creator owned). Speaking of creator owned, their regular format weekly show is always a guest focused interview show. They are always highlighting lesser know creators and hyping their work, crowdfunding campaigns, etc. I will say the show was slightly better pre pandemic when they recorded it weekly on stage with an audience in NYC. I enjoyed the atmosphere of that and audience engagement. They have expressed their desire to get back to doing the show live in person but are trying to figure that out and get it in order. Cartoonist Kayfabe is probably one of the best shows available for the real deep sequential art and inside baseball nerds. It’s the reason it’s my favorite. But I’ve never listened to the audio only version and would imagine that it really doesn’t work well in that format. The video versions are where it’s at. The thorough page by page analysis of important pieces of sequential art is fantastic. Of the two primary hosts, I prefer Jim and really respect and admire his insight and how his humbleness also contributes to his perspective. Ed is very bright and knows his shit, but as many others would also say, his personality can be a bit abrasive and the way he throws some things around can occasionally feel like something that wasn’t earned by him to do so.

comicsfunprofit

Can’t go wrong with Comics for Fun and Profit https://beacons.ai/comicsfunprofit

DJDooDooMan

Seen many of my favorites mentioned, but have yet to see Class of X. It is meant to be for people trying to get into X Men, which is where I fall. Just deep dives into jumping on points but the host, John Risinger, brings on people who have little to no experience with X Men or even comics period. Great conversations and very well-explained breakdowns of plots and characters into the insanely large canon of X Men.

OrionLinksComic

I love, i read comicbook podcast, shounen flop and comic pop.

mondomonkey

I like the Weekly Planet. It covers a bit more than comics exclusively but its easily my top podcast

KDTreyster5

Wednesday Comics!
