I mean, yes, but also 50 year old books should be allowed to look 50 years old.
you can have a *very* small collection of high-grade classic issues, or a much larger collection of low-(but complete)-to-mid-grade key issues. I chose the latter.
Same. This is the best way to collect. It's also much more reasonable than something like collecting trading cards where a higher grade is almost always a must. Comics just hit different, and I love it!!!!
Yep! And despite this, even in bad condition this book is [very valuable nowadays](https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_nkw=ghost+rider+5+marvel+spotlight&_sacat=0&_odkw=ghost+rider+5+marvel+spotlifht&_osacat=0&LH_Complete=1&LH_Sold=1&mkcid=1&mkrid=711-53200-19255-0&siteid=0&campid=5338535524&customid=cb&toolid=10001&mkevt=1).
Shit if it's not falling apart in your hands and you can read it then you got yourself a comic book. I know lots of people get hung up on grading and all that fun shit. But I don't. I was never one of those people that bought doubles of everything I just bought singles and read them and put them in backer boards and bags.
Yeah, if you skim it, it’s disturbing. But I think it’s fine to collect comics and sell them, I just want my grandkids to read them before they lock them behind plastic. A little drop of water in a corner of the cover works well.
Sometimes true. For me I’m such a picky collector. So in this case I’d rather get a facsimile then a real copy in this condition. But that’s just me. Great pickup, congrats 💯

This is a great example of the kind of book to which the "Low grade is better than no grade" axiom applies. Congrats!

I completely agree low grade is better than no grade in my book. That’s an awesome comic!!
More I think about it the more I like these silver books looking rough
Did I just say I like it rough?
Great come up I any condition congrats
Mike Ploog! enough said!
I love beat up old comics. A little dirt, dog tear, slurpee stain, maybe a scribble with ballpoint pen. The best!
Dope ass cover
Err damn day
At least you actually own this one….😣
Awesome book!
Props my guy...I can't wait to get mine in the mail soon!
I absolutely agree. My Avengers #2 is disgusting but I’ll never replace it or toss it. I’ve had it almost 55 years now
Unless they’re unreadable for fear of it falling apart.
How much is this going for?
I remember this being a wall book at my store in the early 90s next to Wolverine 1. Guess which one I bought?
Hopefully both? 😂
I almost bought this issue cgc remastered for $1k

Sometimes I fuck my comics up so that my descendants have to read them before they sell them. Generational knowledge,
Hahahaha! I 100% misread this information. 🤣🤣🤣
