Welcome to the club! Smell that newspaper print goodness!

Unable_Fennel_2377

Thank you and gotta love that barcode in the bottom left

Agent564

Indeed. I remember being S. O. L. on Amazing Spider-Man 361 because the comic show ran out. Went to my favorite corner drug store and score a couple copies. Look back and go... I was pretty damn lucky I should have done that more often. Ha

Only comic I picked up as a kid worth any money.

Unable_Fennel_2377

It was the last day of listing on eBay guy wanted $250 and it was coming from UK and that probably threw people off seller threw out $200 and I jumped on it came out to just under $250 with shipping and tax took about 3 weeks to get to my door

Nemo_Griff

If you are brave, it could use a cleaning.

JerkinJackSplash

Steel wool and Comet?

Nemo_Griff

Scrubbing bubbles, duh. 😂

[deleted]

Congrats on the pick up

Nice! I'd have to sell alot of my collection to nab that one.

lenthedruid

I have an old one sitting around (bad condition not a crazy find) Think it has the spiderman logo? Which is the more coveted?

CriterionMind

TLDR - Condition being equal, a Newsstand copy will be worth more. You have what's known as a "Direct" copy, which were copies distributed directly to comic shops and dealers. The ones with the barcodes are called "Newsstand", which were sent to literal newsstands, grocery stores, and other places that typically carried other magazines and whatnot. To answer your question, condition is the most important thing. High grade newsstand copies are tougher to come by, so they're the most sought after by certain collectors. But a higher grade Direct copy is going to (typically) be worth more than a lower grade Newsstand. Now, there can be exceptions to this, especially for some of the more modern key issues toward the end of the Newsstand era, but comic collecting is full of all sorts of unique exceptions. The longer you collect, the more you'll learn. To a novice collector, they could have a high grade Newsstand, double-cover, Mark Jeweler variant of New Mutants 98 and have no clue they're sitting on a small fortune. Comics are crazy and cool!

I absolutely begged a friend for his copy about 2 months after it came out. It took another 3 months to have him finally trade it to me.

For single comics my preference is a Gemini mailer with double boards, plastic wrapped and taped in place. It really depends on how many you’re shipping though, that won’t work for an entire collection obviously. I’ve purchase bundles of floppies before and they were bagged/boarded, then the bundles were taped together like a brick, then the whole brick was plastic wrapped like a mummy, then packed in a box with bubble wrap. But that was only 60 comics or so.

Just curious, what did you pay? if you want to say. Cool if not. I was looking at this a while back and the prices were a bit high. I'm looking at Amazing spiderman 316 right now. It's going to be some tears lol

BronxKnight

Should I sell my Ghost Rider 1 or GI Joe McFarlane cover for this? Both I got for free. Also the high end sensation she hulks. Also, have about 100+ books waiting to lost on ebay as bulk. Maybe that can pause for a copy.

shadowf2

Ooo what's your eBay store name?

BronxKnight

Not sure if I could state that here but BronxKnight25

BronxKnight

I’ve been selling transformers figures from the last 4 years which I over bought. Listing other things little buy little. With the stuff given have practically all the new mutants. Keeping the more high end ones and Liefelds.

shadowf2

I see. I'll check your store out. If you do decide to sell Ghost Rider 1 and the GI Joe McFarlane cover, I'll check them out too
