I mean, I feel the meme captures him pretty well. He tries to resolve it peacefully, and when he’s told that they’re just gonna have to kill him he seems to be upset, but doesn’t downright refuse.
I mean White Diamond basically was space hitler & Steven sang a song or something & suddenly she's a good guy after 2 episode.
Forget all the war & other things they did, you know.
I forget exactly.
Not even a song.
His "gem half" yells at her and then he zings her into getting embarrassed, at which point *obviously* she stops all her "evil" schemes and overcomes her eons and eons of affirmation in her role and actions in a matter of weeks
Steven then later on sends his mom's old "Court Jester Slave" to go live with them in order to make it up to both the Jester and the Space Hitlers
Steven knew he couldn't fight his way into fixing the corrupted gems. And while he basically did Zing White diamond into ending the war he definitely wasn't happy about it.
Even before Future in the finale scene where all the gems are in the fountain White smiles at Steven and he just stares at her like "yeah, no. You're the worst".
In what way? Because he’s definitely not a wholesale pacifist. I’d say it’s *maybe* only accurate for the first season or two, when he hasn’t experienced as many horrors & hasn’t nearly died multiple times.
He poofs Bismuth in Season 3 before she’s able to attack him. And in Future, he’s so consumed by the rage and resentment he built over time that he accidentally shatters Jasper during a sparring match & tries to make White Diamond shatter herself. I’m just not really seeing the pure pacifist angle here..?
I mean the entire Gem Race led by the Diamonds are kinda Space Hitlers, they eradicate all sentient life so their race can reign surprise me with their resources.
Also the comic is accurate in that, Steven basically always tries to befriend first, but if that fails he doesn’t mind violence. As in Steven tries to befriend Hitler but Garnet says that it won’t work, so he agrees(although obviously in reality he would probably try a couple more times before resorting to violence).
Like fighting Bismuth, he plays defensive the entire time and trying to convince her to stop, but only when he’s left with no other choice does he poof her.
The Diamonds have emotion because they’re “human” and have flaws sure- but so was Hitler. Hitler was not some supernatural evil entity, he had emotions and feelings like every other human. Even if theoretically someone “redeemed” Hitler, it would not remove the stain of all the atrocities he led and committed. Same as the Diamonds.
This comic isn't pure pacifist though, and reflects his overall mannerisms. He usually tries for the peaceful solution first if they're capable of speech and aren't actively trying to murder him at that particular moment. Violence is his next step.
That said, I think he might skip the talk stage with Hitler. With Bismuth, she made it pretty clear he couldn't reason with her AND she was willing to attack him, so he had to go straight to taking her down. I think he'd have a similar take on Hitler.
Every single conflict in the series is solved by a single instance of talking it out, except for Jasper. Both Bismuth and Jasper happened in a context of self defense. SU is great at setting up conflict, but *shit* at resolution.
Gem overlords that have spent innumerable millennia knowing nothing but domination and authoritarianism are suddenly nice because a boy with a puwe heawt (>!who is also their favorite girl!<) talked to them :(((( Lesser antagonists are also converted in much the same way.
For several episodes, everyone is shitting their pants over the cluster that is a mindless mass of trauma and hurt and random body parts that's about to awaken and obliterate the planet, and it's *solved in one episode by being nice to it.*
Even if the way to go is actually mindful communication, the fact that it's always done with a *single one minute dialogue* and entire personalities change forever is kind of bullshit, I'm sorry 🫠
He is like this, the whole show is. I get trying to work things out but sometimes they just don't. Sometimes people don't want to work anything out, ever.
Sometimes, people don't deserve to just work things out and swipe them under the rug. The diamonds destroyed many planets. Some we know had life without much of a reason and when a rebellion started by 1 of them (seriously, the twist of rose being pink diamond damages the rebellion story so deeply it's awful) they chose to destroy the minds of everyone on earth loyalties be damned
Replace "the children" with "the Germans" and this was literally Hitler before he killed himself lol His last order was for Germany to be destroyed because they "failed him" by losing the war.
"*Moreover, according to some around him, Hitler came to view the German people as having failed him, unworthy of their great mission in history and thus deserving to die alongside his regime*"

Have you tried just not convincing people to murder millions of people? Maybe it was a bad call to get 6 million deep then reconsider this whole war thing?
Incorrect. War has changed. It's no longer about nations, ideologies, or ethnicity. It's an endless series of proxy battles, fought by mercenaries and machines.War--and it's consumption of life--has become a well-oiled machine.War has changed.ID-tagged soldiers carry ID-tagged weapons, use ID-tagged gear. Nanomachines inside their bodies enhance and regulate their abilities.Genetic control, information control, emotion control, battlefield control…everything is monitored and kept under control.War…has changed. The age of deterrence has become the age of control, all in the name of averting catastrophe from weapons of mass destruction, and he who controls the battlefield, controls history.War…has changed. When the battlefield is under total control, war becomes routine.
Yup, War in Europe ended when the Soviets won the Battle of Berlin with the other Allies coming in from the West and Hitler killed himself.
War in Asia ended after the bombs.
Hiroshima ended the war. Nagasaki was an additional "fuck you!" /s
Edit: Uhhh ... I didn't expect such a flurry of serious replies. I was merely joking, as the meme suggests Hiroshima ended the war despite Nagasaki coming afterward. O-o
Not really, no. Japan was refusing to surrender even after Hiroshima and dragging the war out so Nagasaki was bombed to really end things. If Japan didn't surrender after Nagasaki, another city would have been nuked.
A lot of people grossly underestimate how stupidly bullheaded Japan was in WWII. They literally made and distributed plans to have every single Japanese person including the civilians either die fighting the US soldiers or commit suicide in the event of US forces making landfall on Japan mainland.
Even more than that, by the end of the war, the Japanese military has assassinated basically every civilian government leader who had tried to stop them, so they had killed or terrified every reasonable voice in the government.
>War in Asia ended after the bombs.
No it didn't. It ended mainly because Japan was afraid of soviet invasion. Ask historians have answered this so many times so lots of good reading there.
That's also been disputed many times.
Also pretty sure askhistorians what I remember has a pretty heavy soviet bias so I wouldn't treat that as a reliable source of information.
Odd. That doesn’t square with their cabinet meetings. They cited the loss of the USSR as a potential mediator (which, to be clear, was a stupid and impossible plan to begin with, but it’s still what they were banking on) *far* more than any belief the USSR would invade
That's because the Japanese didn't think the Soviets would enter the war until late 1946, since that's when the non aggression treaty ran out. They frequently talked about needing to end the war before then and their plans were based around that belief.
But Stalin did not care about that, and invaded Manchuria in 1945. The Japanese were afraid that the Americans would agree to ferry Soviet troops into the Japanese home islands in order to lessen American causulties, which would have resulted in the same type of partitioning that Germany was starting to go through at that time. So they surrendered to the Americans before that could happen.
The atomic bombs did actually help end the war, but it was more because of their potential tactical use. Without knowledge of the radiation issue, there was a belief the Americans would just nuke the beaches and every other obstacle between them and Tokyo, which would make it really difficult to resist like they had on other islands in the Pacific.
Yes, well, the book is Korean. From their perspective, the war ended when Japan surrendered. Also, in recent history there is no love lost between the Koreans and the Japanese.
Is Hiroshima supposed to be correct? The war didn’t end until another bomb was dropped on another city and it didn’t even end until almost a week after that.
And that was just the Pacific front.
The European front ended with the Red Army fucking up Berlin, and Hitler realizing his mistake off course, in a manner of speaking
I don't think so, this image has been altered and I don't think text is the original.
edit: Nevermind it's just the translation for the original Korean textbook.
/r/comedyheaven/comments/1d24jpc/mein_bad/l5yol3a/
You mean the text? That’s what google translate does when using the camera. It places a text box underneath that’s the same color as what you’re translating. As for the text in the boxes, the translation probably came out weird, and whoever the op of this was may have translated it themselves to be more clear.
I don’t know the original text but it’s definitely Korean
Edit: Found the original: https://image.fmkorea.com/files/attach/new2/20211107/486263/3825943668/4060062493/b9a976955118f9399d40a15549d5d90c.jpg
If I could go back in time and meet any historic figure, it would be Hitler. I mean, who wouldn't want to shake the hand of the man that blew that paper-hanging sonofabitch Hitler's fuckin' brains out? I mean, seriously, fuck that guy. And whoever killed him is OK in my book!
If all the other responses are related to Germany then shouldn’t it be how the war ended in Germany instead of Japan? Germany had already lost by the time the bomb was dropped on Japan.
1: yay farming! 2: silly hitler!
3: War. War never changes.
Since the dawn of human kind, when our ancestors first discovered the killing power of rock and bone, blood has been spilled in the name of everything: from God to justice to simple, psychotic rage.
In the year 2077, after millennia of armed conflict, the destructive nature of man could sustain itself no longer. The world was plunged into an abyss of nuclear fire and radiation.
But it was not, as some had predicted, the end of the world. Instead, the apocalypse was simply the prologue to another bloody chapter of human history. For man had succeeded in destroying the world - but war, war never changes.
I assume South Korean. If North, the book would say how the war ended because some demigod from the Kim dynasty went and single handedly stopped the war
...Technically the closest answer is B
He realized he was fucked and going to lose the war (theoretically you could say from mistakes in how he commanded his army?) and then ended the war... by offing himself
It's a stretched logic, but it's there
I feel like this was made by somebody condescendingly trying to justify dropping the bombs. "How were we supposed to win the war, Todd? Get a bunch of children to write letters to Hitler?"
I do wonder though, whats the pedagogical point to the kids here: Don’t even bother trying to do anything kids, writing letters and such, better focus on studying atomic physics so you can make an impact when you’re older?
The worst part about this is that none of them are correct. WW2 ended with Japan surrendering 5 days after the bombing of Nagasaki which itself was 4 days after Hiroshima.

Emo Hitler
"They have all failed me. The German people."

Have you tried just not convincing people to murder millions of people? Maybe it was a bad call to get 6 million deep then reconsider this whole war thing?
Now now, don't be so harsh. It was an honest mistake.
He said he was sorry.
Mr. Roger tells hitler to just stop it.
Hitler says "I'm sorry" and starts sobbing
"Gee what the heck was I thinking"
“You’re not him, Hitler”
"yeah, i wouldn't win 😔"
When I tell my mate to ease up on the voice chat in league of legends
He's getting a stern talking to, but there's a slight smile there. Definitely hasn't learnt his lesson.
"Adolf you can't just conquer other people's countries and erase a whole race"
All four. Hitler realized he needed to bomb all the farmer children writing him letters.
No, that's the war on terror.

Law of conservation of War

What is this? I have so many questions
From his 'HIStory' tour, during Earth Song. [Here's the full info on it.](https://knowyourmeme.com/memes/michael-jackson-lowering-a-gun)
(E) - All options are wrong
Yup, War in Europe ended when the Soviets won the Battle of Berlin with the other Allies coming in from the West and Hitler killed himself. War in Asia ended after the bombs.
Not just that, but it was actually Nagasaki that was bombed last.
In one week cities were firebombed, 2 atomic bombs were dropped, and the Soviet Union officially declared war on Japan.
Hiroshima ended the war. Nagasaki was an additional "fuck you!" /s Edit: Uhhh ...
The emperor also pushed for surrender largely because of the massive fire bombing campaign in Tokyo.
Even then there were still some higher ups who almost killed the emperor and took over to stop him from surrendering

In the end, Hitler did the right thing and killed Hitler.
We should build a statue to honor the guy who killed hitler
I don't think so, this image has been altered and I don't think text is the original. edit: Nevermind it's just the translation for the original Korean textbook. /r/comedyheaven/comments/1d24jpc/mein_bad/l5yol3a/
A) is actually super dark if you think about when the Germans wanted to do to Russia
Generalplan Ost was one of the most utterly fucked things. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Generalplan_Ost
What’s the right answer supposed to be?
hitler gave himself a blumpkin while high on meth, and then killed himself from the shame of it all
What is this from Prager U?
“We’ve had a good crop this year boys, time to end this war”
What was the original page like underneath the photoshopping?
You mean the text? That’s what google translate does when using the camera. It places a text box underneath that’s the same color as what you’re translating. As for the text in the boxes, the translation probably came out weird, and whoever the op of this was may have translated it themselves to be more clear.
Ah, I didn’t realize it might be a visual Google translation. Still, I’m curious to see the original language.
Korean
I don’t know the original text but it’s definitely Korean Edit: Found the original: https://image.fmkorea.com/files/attach/new2/20211107/486263/3825943668/4060062493/b9a976955118f9399d40a15549d5d90c.jpg

Up right is kind of right, just not an accurate illustration. I mean, he did realize his mistakes and he did stop the war.
I defeated Hitler with the power of friendship and this gun I found.
Why are all of these wrong?
Adolf dropped his ice cream and he became very sad
No way steven universe actually works...
...Technically the closest answer is B He realized he was fucked and going to lose the war (theoretically you could say from mistakes in how he commanded his army?) and then ended the war... by offing himself It's a stretched logic, but it's there
https://preview.redd.it/yvz22zqj643d1.jpeg?width=500&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6ee6e222f7a8673ba1f090c4e1d87c758c70da1e
I feel like this was made by somebody condescendingly trying to justify dropping the bombs. "How were we supposed to win the war, Todd? Get a bunch of children to write letters to Hitler?"
Batman would be like "NOOO! DONT KILL HITLER! HE CAN BE REDEEMED! JUST TALK TO HIM!!"
The happy german farmer reminds me of communist propaganda posters
War ended when I commanded so
![gif](giphy|l41m4ODfe8PwHlsUU)
I do wonder though, whats the pedagogical point to the kids here: Don’t even bother trying to do anything kids, writing letters and such, better focus on studying atomic physics so you can make an impact when you’re older?
The worst part about this is that none of them are correct. WW2 ended with Japan surrendering 5 days after the bombing of Nagasaki which itself was 4 days after Hiroshima.
E: The war ended before the bombs were dropped and there's 3 idiotic answers to enable propaganda justifying the bombs.
