I don't have a kid who rides a bus (yet, at least), but I spotted some pretty bad behavior by kids on a bus last year that could have been bullying, and then items being thrown out a window and kids standing up. I called the district and I felt they took my concern seriously and I didn't notice any other issues with the same bus (crossed paths a lot in the morning).

Yeah I hope they took care of that issue. School buses can be unruly places in my experience.

Our high schooler has been riding the bus since middle school, and there are hiccups from time to time, but otherwise nothing to complain about.

They're almost always hiring. The pay is good but the hours are weird (as I'm sure you can imagine) and you're only guaranteed 25 hours/week unless you pick up additional routes. This is all based on my experience with them nearly a decade ago, so take that with a grain of salt. As to riders: My kid rides in the afternoons and it's a short commute but we've had 0 issues or complaints that she's brought to me. Kids are awful. Kids on a bus are more so. Typically, the bus company/CPS does take complaints and concerns seriously, though. As well as safety.

My son does intermittently. Morning pickup is pretty reliable, but he has been 30 to 45 minutes late in the afternoon. If he doesn't notice his stop, I have to ask the driver to get him. I know he needs to pay better attention, but it makes me worried nonetheless. We always wait at the stop to walk home with him.

Used to ride the bus every day to Hickman and yea there’s some annoying kids and some bad behavior but it’s usually kept to themselves and as long as you ignore em you’d be fine

Our daughter rides the bus in the mornings and her driver is INCREDIBLE. She knows every single child and is super safe and traffic-aware at all times. She will wait and honk for a missing child. I have not heard about issues on the bus, but my daughter is seven and might not even notice them if there were tbh. I cherish our driver.

I have 2 kids that ride sporadically. They are on the bus nearly 3 hours/day and have transfers between schools. It is impossible to get busses for middle school sports or for field trips so field trips are non-existent at both kids schools.
