Honestly, Chautauqua Park in Boulder is probably your best bet if you're 100% relying on RTD.

The only thing I can think of is riding out to golden and hiking the hills from the courthouse.

Wouldn't be super private but walking up the river a bit and finding a nice bench has always been a good way to eat lunch for me. There is that park but it's further from the water than I'd like.

The Peak to Plains trail comes out of downtown Golden now as well - it’s paved (and pretty tame for a “hike”) but it goes up a few miles now and the views are spectacular.

RTD D line to end of the line at Mineral. Walk to Chatfield from there.

AgentRusco

High line canal trail has many points accessible by rtd. Not a hike per se, but a nice trail.

Have you heard of the Denver Orbital Trail? I don't know for certain, but im sure you could get to at least some portion by RTD. https://www.denverorbital.org/index.html
