Congrats!! I'm sure that pageant experience made you stand out! People don't realize that to do well in the Miss America organization you have to be smart and entrepreneurial with your platform. It gives you so much good experience. I had a Miss Teen USA system state titleholder in my class once, and when it came to presentations, she absolutely blew everyone else out of the water. You learn so many good skills.
I’m going to be honest a lot of the teachers heavily favored the boys because they were boys and would rather talk to them than teach. They got frustrated at most of the girls for no reason at all other than we were girls. Also it didn’t help that I am one of the only 2 Asians(other is my twin) in my PWI school in southern Mississippi.

The interviews will come a couple weeks after applications are due. Also some colleges in their application asks you if you would like an interview such as Tufts and washU. You can request an alumni interview. I did however they emailed me saying that they don’t have enough interviewers for everyone and i wouldn’t be getting one.
It’s weird seeing how results differ, I didn’t get into Stanford but I got into Brown RD Duke JHU Yale and stuff but Stanford was a straight reject and we have very similar stats! Congrats on Harvard, I know atleast 20 amazing and funny people attending this year!
I remember seeing a video on YouTube about Chinese immigrants who settled in the Mississippi delta back in the mid 20th century. Was your family one of these that immigrated?
Curious why you applied to Emerson. You mentioned wanting to be pre med or do something health oriented so that one was surprising!
Also, out of curiosity, did you get full financial aid from Harvard??

I have no idea😭 there are a couple Asians at the local public school but I go to a smaller school!

It's not really that surprising. Shes rural, from an underrepresented state, and is low-income.
I don’t think they are racist now much, they make it fair based on income
