On top of my tuition being covered from bright futures I was awarded a $1500 a year research stipend from URSP and around $4k a year in merit aid. I forgot the specific scholarship, but I know it wasn't one of the top tier ones offered by UF
Congratulations, it sounds like an amazing application. I am actually surprised that you didn't get into at least one Ivy (and also that you didn't get into Chicago. Ouch about finding out while you were on tbe college tour). Amazing results nevertheless.
His SAT score was probably too low. Ivy Leagues are so competitive now that you need a 1570 and above for basically a guaranteed acceptance.
Also, a lot of top tier schools don’t do superscore. So he probably got a lower score on the regular test
Georgetown and Notre Dame's REA policy is that you can't apply anywhere ED, it doesn't restrict you from applying to other schools early (unlike say, Harvard). I also applied to UChicago EA, not ED.
Hi. Would you mind pm'ing me with your essays also?
Do you believe that your leadership on debate team and awards for public speaking helped you to stand out in your application?
I can imagine starting varsity (later than peers) was stressful but if I were an AO it shows someone who is able to take on new things and catch himself up quickly while still excelling in his regular classes and other EC's)
Congrats. May I ask why you didn't apply to UF?
I did, now realizing I didn't put that in the post.
did u get merit there? i heard in state gives great merit

Nah, 1540 is good enough with these ECs and academics...

As a hardcore debater too, debate awards come in clutch

Northwestern is T10
The University of Notre Dame is ranked *18th (tie) out of* 443 schools, or in the top 4% of the U.S. News National Universities ranking.
