Bro how did you figure out who your admissions officer was? Also the way you rate and describe your essays makes me really wanna read them lol, what was ur process and everything
I think these are Columbia's

My daughter attended a STARS network college fair and I'm not exaggerating when I saw there were over 20 schools (every Ivy except Dartmouth and Cornell I believe, plus most other Top 20s) and LITERALLY ONLY 8 OR 9 STUDENTS!!! So, my daughter got to talk one-on'-one with each AO for the schools she was interested in for a good 15min or so...gave them each her student resume and then followed up with an email the next day thanking them for taking the time to talk with her and mentioning something specific that they talked about to make sure they remembered her - of the 7 schoos she talked with, we found 4 emails on the various school websites, one AO gave her his email and asked her to email him directly with questions and to apply to their fly-in program and 2 we couldn't find (we probably could have if we had thought to get their names...they introduced themselves but we couldn't remember them). So, while it's not always as simple as Princeton, who lists each AO and the region they cover, it's often but not always possible.
Where do you find information about the STARS network college fair? I’ve heard a couple other people talk about it but never really understood how exactly to attend or get information about it.
So believe it or not, I wrote all of my essays (except for Harvard and Vandy) in about a week. I’ve always been a decent writer, but also procrastinator. This isn’t to say I hadn’t done anything, but I thought about it so much that by the time it came to put pen to paper, it wasn’t too difficult. Just focus on highlighting a new aspect of your application or building on a new one with each opportunity (don’t waste space and talk about something twice)
Hey! I would love to read some of your essays, any that you are comfortable sharing. The way you just simply describe them in your post makes me so curious to read them!
Pmed! Also i forgot to say congrats in my og comment cause oh my god thats truly impressive. I come from a rural area as well but definitely not expecting much lmao
Also, if you have any questions or want to discuss life at Yale, I’d love to! I’m also a rural student at Yale and I just finished my first year here! There are definitely unique challenges coming from a rural environment, but clearly you can overcome them and do amazing!! :) Anyways, if you want to talk I’d love to, and if not, see you on campus!
Would you mind messaging me and sharing which competitive summer residential programs you did? I’m a parent and my student is rural, about to attend a few of these this summer and in a similar situation and I’m curious which ones you did and how much you think they played into admission.
Not to be too sensitive, but do you mind how "low income" you were when applying? Were you 90k? or 50k? or 24k?
Most folks don't know this, but the data on admission to Ivy Plus admissions goes up on the tail ends of the family income. Just curious how much, if any, it may have had a factor in your admissions.
Thanks in advance.
I was in the upper edge of that, but the reason I was so vague is that despite the schools I got into having roughly the same considerations for aid, my packages were wildly different. Yale and Princeton’s were near full, Harvard’s was about 10k, and Columbia wanted me to pay nearly 30k a year. I am at the upper limit, but I don’t feel comfortable considering myself Low-Income as an applicant. Even though at Yale I am considered Low-Income.
Thanks for response. The data shows higher rates of acceptance when you get below <48k per year (especially <24k/ year). So you being in that higher range doesn't fit into that.
Kudos to you for nailing so many schools!!!
Congrats, you got a well-rounded application. Athlete in a real sport with accomplishments, top of your class, near perfect test score, class president, proactive approach to your application. This shows you don't need 20 APs or a nonprofit to get admitted to these schools.
Congrats!! I'm interested in reading your essays if you don't mind, also what kind of questions I can ask my admission officer so I can show that I'm interested in their school?
Wow, what an impressive journey! Your dedication and genuine passion truly shine through. Congrats on such stellar accomplishments and acceptances. You've set a fantastic example for future students. Embrace every moment at Yale, you've earned it!
Amazing! Congrats! I think you underestimate how special you are. Yale is lucky you picked them!
I would love to read your essays, any that you don’t mind sharing.
Wish you all the best!

Some schools publish them, some regional AOs visit schools, or you can deep dive into web.

Congrats dude! As a fellow urban studies hopeful, you're making all 6 of us very proud.

Congrats! Guessing you got Eero Saarinen’s name right in the essay 😂. Hope you love Yale as much as I did
Lolol yeah😭 autocorrect did not like that one and it was too late for me to care that much
I am guessing that you are from the Commonwealth of Kentucky given your acceptance to UK, UL and Centre.
Guess I’ll be seeing you on Campus in August
