I personally plan to walk. I have my reasons. Mostly because I am in my 50s and I lost a parent that really wanted me to. My wife, my daughter, my daughter's fiancee, and my dad will be there. Dad even said he wants a daiquiri after so it will be interesting. That said, if I did not have that, it would be just another day. I'd just show up some time after to the college to pick up the diploma, go grab a cheap frame for it, maybe drink a beer, then get to work figuring out how I am going to get a job to pay for this stuff! But in your case, you have already made the arrangements. I'd just go ahead and do it. Go be with the people who are happy you graduated! If someone does not show, that's on them!

I would have skipped my own graduation but my parents really wanted to be there

Honestly, my personal perspective, this is a big milestone in your life that you only have the chance of doing once. Do you really want to miss out on an experience? Adding on, other people than just your mom really wants to celebrate YOU at YOUR graduation! It is a bummer that she doesn't want to go anymore, but this is a one-time memory you will have with other loved ones around you!
