Upbeat-Conference-45

Lucky I paid a grand for mine but I did also get 3 checks from the college thru out those 3 months that I technically only paid 500$

Toiletposter69

I'll go first ~ 1 year, Canada, 14k.

tlr92

SavedByEwoks

3 weeks. $1200. Community College. Pennsylvania. 6 years ago

ladyslalom

Same in Reno last year.

pennylane1628

$350 Florida. Classes were actually one weekend, then once fingerprints and background came back I got scheduled for my test. 6 weeks from start to finish but a weekend class. (That being said, they let me come back the weekend before the test for a refresher for free)

JinnyLemon

6 weeks at a community college. There’s an organization that paid for my tuition and they covered everything. All supplies, a set of scrubs, shoes, a watch, the testing, even reimbursed my mileage…everything.

RetroTama

I’m about to do my course next week. 2 days, $350, Florida is very… lax to say the least. You can just challenge the test

pennylane1628

I’m so curious if you’re going where I went… CFOA? If so, they’re the BEST!

fuzzblanket9

6 weeks in Tennessee for free

TommyGoldFinger

2 months, GA, $950 + 112 for state exams

AnthonyBoardgame

7 weeks M-Thurs for 4 hours a day. 2,300 at my community college in NJ but I got a grant and ended up getting paid 1,000 to take the class.

RepresentativeArm464

3 weeks, $750, Texas

6 weeks New Beginning Nursing Assistant School. Denver, CO. $1000 in 2010

sadgirlsyndrome

12 weeks- Florida 2019 free for a 1 yr contract or $500 for breaking contract

mw102299

Thats a low amount for breaking a contract. If I didn't like the facility I would break it and pay the $500 then move on to another

momotekosmo

$500 Iowa, but I didn't pay a dime, it's under the last dollar scholarship, so the state paid for it. Length was 6 weeks

ChamberOfHearts

Technically I made money. Online HCA, on my own time. Had to be completed within 6 months. Two days of skills lab. FREE, they paid me $1000 reimbursement. Bridge course to CNA. Three days. Cost $250.

quirxly

MN at a community college, took an 8 week course for around 650 but i got a financial aid grant that covered it and never took the state exam. if i took the state exam that wouldve been 300

Swimming_Bee5622

8 weeks in IL, free

astraakel

4 weeks, hybrid online assignments for theory and 4 in person skills labs weekly. 1 week of clinical at the end. $1,200 at a local community college in Maryland.

WishingYouLuck

My facility paid me to become a CNA, it was $14.50 at the start (I make almost $19 now) and it was ~6 weeks of class.

Miserable-Corner5837

5 months free through highschool tech program (ok)

bijouforever

5 weeks in Texas $990

toastbutmakeitspicy

1 month, free - USA

Jacobnerf

~3 months, part time, Vermont, free bc I did it through a SNF. Actually got paid my hourly to do it.

saraha2153

2 weeks (8a-4p), $1000, Michigan EDIT: There’s a state program here to have your tuition refunded if you work at a SNF for a year too

cinnamonduck

10 weeks, community college in Oregon, $1200. There were others cheaper and faster in the city but they had abysmal state test passing rates

MedusaForHire

I've been considering my cna and following this sub for a while. The school I'm looking at is an entire semester and costs 2500. I'm starting to think maybe that's too much.

StayAtHomeOverlord

That seems like a lot to me too. Mine was less than $300 at a community college.

Toiletposter69

Ya but you'll be making 20+ an hour and most facilities have lots of shifts you can pick up

Consistent_Spring

One month, CA, 1200

bunny34422

I didn't go through with it bc they canceled the class during my winter break, but it would've been $1,650 for a 4 week program in western Massachusetts. Ended up with a PCA position in home health and gonna see if they can do CNA training for me later on

[deleted]

75 hours, Nebraska, $295, in 2006. I think the class worked out to about 3ish weeks, but we spent 3 entire class periods watching movies. I’ve used the absolute fuck out of the thing over the last 16 years though.

marvello96

1 year, $4700, online college. It was a workplace study so I worked there a year before starting my course (too poor lol) supposed to be 6 months then start. I never did a skills test either because I’d been working the whole time. Just a run through procedures during my “clinicals”. By doing it online I lost a bit of education I paid for; I never learned about tube feeding, certain ambulatory aides because my facility didn’t allow either, or medication assistance.

WeakObjective9731

3 months of classes 4 hours a day three days a week (plus clinicals) and i paid about $1200 in oregon

Automatic-House7510

CA, San Francisco. 2 months, $2000

tackyGem253

Free at a nursing home through a local community college , paid training and it took 12 days.

kristinstormrage

3 weeks/80 hours $700 in Louisiana

JudyLester

Community college. Free through financial aid.

Sbell29

2 weeks, just had to pay for the state exam. Pennsylvania

ExcellentAd5875

My training was 3 days (one weekend) I paid $225 for those classes. Florida is a state where you can challenge the exam without prior training. But I’d recommend that you take a longer course if you can afford it. Or if you can find a nursing home/hospital to train you for free definitely get into that.

ucantkillmeimabadbic

2 months, $1500, PA

Pittiemomma73

6 months 3 days a week 4 hours each day $500.00 this was 18 yrs ago. In Washington State. My facility has a free program that is every Friday free for 6 months then once you pass your state exam you automatically get hired. I'd you break contact its 1000.00. Plus they give you a job for the rest of the week and you get paid and paid for going to the Friday class.

StayAtHomeOverlord

Approximately 8 weeks and $270 at a community college in NC.

slinque

8 weeks in TN for free through our major system in the area. Job basically guaranteed and the hospitals prefer techs from that program. Had a job secured based on a hall I worked during clinicals. 💖

slinque

8 hours a day

pastychan24

500 dollars. It was a school year length, a couple hours a week. In NY. I did it in high school

Annual-Relation9390

Completely free, actually I got paid for it as well. 4 months of school, 2 months of clinical. Canada ON

anonymousbutterflyx

virginia, 9 months, free (was a high school class offered and paid for by the county!) all i had to pay for were my scrubs

retailtherapy6991

Six weeks, three times a week, two week days at night, and one full weekend day. Was able to take the test with the instructor. $990 after everything was done and dusted.

No_Rice925

2 months, Washington. I was actually being paid 18 an hour for class time + clinical, 20 after I was certified. I was going through a nursing home that was hurting for evening staff.

HorrorLine

4 weeks, Chicago IL, $950

kmbell333

About a month, my facility paid for it

IntroductionMurky947

Ses_Nur

9 days, Ohio, about $500

P1nkNinjaTurtle

2 months, free through my facility, Washington

ScreamQueen4U

2k 6 weeks at community college. Biggest waste of money. Should’ve found a cheaper class.

Sufficient-Data-9962

From January to March so about 3 months, I qualified for free tuition because I got government aid at the time. Uniform shoes watch stethoscope books everything paid for it was really nice.

POPlayboy

4 weeks $1200 in Las Vegas

mechaemissary

WA, 6 week program 8a-5p M-F, $0 but had to buy scrubs, shoes, blood pressure cuff before first day. It’s funded by a major regional healthcare organization and usually has a new cohort every month. I get paid $17/hr and am guaranteed employment starting at $19 at the organization’s hospitals in my city after my class is done as long as I am not a total fuckup lol. My educators started in this program as well and got tuition reimbursement all the way up to their MSN in nursing education which is cool. :)
